Eufy Smart Lock Touch , Best Smart Lock for 2021 - Setup and Review

- Today, we are going to setup and test out Eufy's latest Smart Lock Touch with WIFI. This new smart lock model that they have has a built in WIFI and doesn't need a separate WIFI bridge or module and it also has a removable and rechargeable 10,000 mAh battery pack that can last up to 1 year before needing to be recharged. They checked off all the boxes for features that users want on this latest iteration of their smart lock.
You will have multiple ways to lock and unlock your doors with this smart lock.
1. Fingerprint - one of the fastest if not the fastest fingerprint lock in the market today.
2. App using WIFI - you can access your smart lock from anywhere as long as your phone is connected to the internet.
3. App using Bluetooth
4. Passcode - Type in your passcode and has a scrambling feature
5. Voice Assistants - Lock and Unlock your door using your voice through Amazon Alexa or Google Home
6. Traditional Keys

It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

Agreed. After owning so many august locks and having so many issues with them this one eliminates so much hassle.
Great video. Very detailed one of the things I hate most with my current smart locks with kids is no matter the auto relock time once that time comes even with the door open the deadbolt comes out and smacks the front of the strike plate. I love the fact the Eufy lock can tell when its open or closed and locks accordingly. Ordering now !!

At 14:50 you locked it while the door was open, but yet the app notified you that it was locked....Is there a way the lock knows when the door is open or closed when locking?
Superb video. Made the installation a breeze. Only thing that can be a little tricky is the spacer - even if there's an iota of doubt, remove it. We used it and then realized it was a tight fit. Then removing it was a pain in the neck. The rest is as easy as it gets. First impressions is the lock is amazing especially the fingerprint scanner. I have the Eufy doorbell as well and as with the doorbell, the app's a bit meh at times. With this lock, the lock-unlock feature using the app seems like a bit hit-miss. Throws some error message at times. The rest is beautiful.

Please show us inside the box as u unpack. And when oh when will a company make one that works with a 45mm backset. Suitable for older homes with gorgeous wooden french doors.
Love this device. However, this device occasionally beeps for some type of notification/messages randomly and the Eufy app sometimes has messages and sometimes does not.

Any geofencing for when you leave or arrive ? August lock for example allows the lock to open automatically if your within range or lock if your past a specific range .
Can you set it to not auto lock quickly? Say if you want to have a party and let people let themselves in
Yes! You can even turn auto lock off and then back on later. You can also schedule certain users to only have access on certain dates and times.
Edit: you can set the auto lock from 1 second to three minutes.
Is the entire unit (both outside and inside pieces) rated IP65 - i would like to install on outside front gate (where i already have the eufy doorbell) - Thanks
There should be an additional option to allow the lock to be connected to the el. sockets and batteries serve as a backup source. Similarly internet cable as well, not only wifi.
Is auto lock setting stored with the lock? i.e. function w/o any wifi after it's setup?

@@HighTechCheck - Well, as unluck would have it, I could not for the life of me get the Eufy smart lock to connect to the 2.4GHz Orbi mesh system WiFi band. The Eufy HomeBase 2 is connected to it, and a host of Eufy smart home products are connected to it, but this smart lock wouldn’t. So, I sent it back to Amazon for a replacement. I’ll give it one more chance to connect. Will be disappointed if it won’t.
@@dannymcneal Does the connection problem get solved? This is the only concern I have.
@@dr_920 - The replacement unit would not connect either. And because my Orbi mesh router will not allow me to manually separate the bands and use two different SSIDs, I purchased the ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 mesh router, and set it up with separate SSIDs. Again, the eufy would not connect to the dedicated 2.4GHz band. So I sent it back and purchased the Lockly smart door lock with WiFi and fingerprint reader. The Lockly connected to the 2.4GHz band immediately. I was disappointed with the eufy, but the Lockly works great! And, to be honest, in my eye the Lockly looks better, especially with the rest of my brushed nickel accents.

Nice video and thank you for taking the time - once issue that would concern me is unlike a normal lock which is basically flat on the outside especially WHAT is to stop someone with a BIG hammer was to hit the top of it and break it from the door to have access to the bolt?
The outside piece is pretty solid, you would really have to have like a sledgehammer to really get it off the door. If that was the case you could just bash the door in and not waste time with the lock.

Is there a data connecting on that micro USB? If there is, this thing is junk for security.

Does this lock really work with Apple Homekit?
It only works with certain Eufy products,Indoor Cam Pan 2K, Indoor Cam 2K, eufyCam 2, and 2C connected to eufy HomeBase 2 not this smart lock.
@@HighTechCheck As you mentioned the Eufy Cameras work with HomeKit. I wonder why the lock doesn't. Maybe in the future. The lock looks great. I think I'm going to get it anyway. Thank you for getting back to me. It was a very informative video.
Yes, it does! I have it and it works with Google, Alexa, and HomeKit. Also IP65 rating and is BHMA certified. You can lock it or lock it from anywhere right from your phone. It shows events that tell you when it was locked/unlocked and by who with date and time stamps. Plus this thing is solid. I have kids and they were always losing or forgetting their keys. You can control the lock with a passcode (set for each user), a fingerprint, or a key.

Is this going to work with existing 3 points lock system?
To me the most important feature is geofencing. The lock unlocking once it senses me approaching via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Why is this not a feature???
