Ty Eric for another great video. I it takes time out day and a whole editing at night....your audience really appreciate it. Stay well be safe. God bless you and your family, have a wonderful weekend.
Eric you need one of those driveway pressure attachments for that. Also a rotary broom attachment for your skid steer would serve you well I think they are great for snow as well. Surprised you do not own one.
Do you dairy farmers ever get time to slow down , you always seem to have more jobs that time to do them. What a hard life. thank you guys and gals.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
That power washer did a great job on that layer of build up on the concrete. Good luck on the drag line clean out of the pit, hope it goes good. Enjoyed watching, thanks had I hope your weekend is great!
It’s great to see your videos thank you! I remember in previous winter you did the same treatment to the sprayer. I’ve seen other farmers use pressure washing and paying someone to groove the concrete. A universal task for dairy farmers it seems. I hope your winter is mild and short!😀👍✌️👋😂🙏🙏
Power washing is so satisfying. Seeing crud disappear is amazing. Glad the robotic scrapers are doing a good job for you. Looking forward to see the pit emptying. Thanks for a great video.
Windshield washer fluid works great to. No corrosive. Doesn't freeze and a lot cheaper. It's what I use in my pressure washer and sprayer. An old timer taught me that !!
Eric, great video. It crossed my mind that a power rotating brush on the front of the Kubota would be handy to clean up a variety of messes but that area you could clean a couple times a week and not wear down the concrete grooves. Might be useful for light snows as well. Maybe you could demo one?
Im wondering if the lime you mix in the bedding is literally part of cement mixture and turning the manure into a low grade concrete. Hosing down that area after putting down bedding might help was away the lime before it hardens.
Nice video. Was wondering with the weather change do you heat the water used to clean the cows for milking? Love how inquisitive they are about anything new or different. Susan
Hi, i will tell/ ask you somthing, I am from the Netherlands and work on a farm with some 50 % Holstein x 50% montbeliarde cow's. The cow's produces in the 1 or 2 lactations less milk than the 100% holstein but the cow's with 50% montbeliarde are stronger, have more body/more meat and are therefore less sick, could get older, and will produces in the later lactation the same as Holstein, the montbeliarde are late bloomers (when you sell them after many years of milking, you get more money for the cow because they have more meat). Sow what I ask: try the montbeliarde mix cow's. Please do not sell the 1e lactation montbeliarde cow. And I know it is difficult but if you good results from mix type cow's you have to breed one of you beter Holstein cow's with a montbeliarde (or other breed). If you AI the bad cow's with the montbeliarde (or otherbreed) the newborn will not so good. Please let me know your opinion about this supject. You and family are nice and you have a nice farm. Best regards from The Netherlands.
Just a heads up rv antifreeze will rot the seals out of your sprayer. I work at a hardi dealership in northwest Ohio we use regular antifreeze because it does not contain alcohol
If you keep that spot wet you shouldn’t have any buildup. You don’t want to have that spot wet in the cold months. You could set up a sprinkler line above that. Just a suggestion. God bless
How much milk is taken from each cow? I can see that the udder is not completely empty. Half? Does the machine sense when it's time to quit or is is done by time? Or maybe volume? Just curious. I would think that you would want as much as possible each time. Drain that thing till it's sucking air! lol
hi Eric My Great Grandfather had a Dairy Farm he had over 1000 acres and had 350 Dairy Cow this was back in the early 1920's till around 1960's. I see you on your farm with the cows and milking and wonder how did my Great Grandfather do it they were tough. My mom lives in the house the he built we dont have the farm or cow's the only thing i have left of the farm is only 10 acres plus the house. My Uncles kid sold all the land for money. Yes i help my uncle on the land he had. So when i watch your Videos i tell my kid about driving the tractors and the Grain Bids. Take care and you and your Dad BE SAFE Thank You
@@10thgenerationdairyman61 i never had the chance to be around the cows. I remmber the old Dairy barn it was already empty so i never know how the feed the cow so when i seen you feed the cows i was like ok thats how the did it You and your Dad take care and be Safe
Funny couldn't see what you were whining about over the cross walk until you scraped it up with the skid loader. Then I was like wow, he wasn't whining. lol Shouldn't have doubted you son. 👍
RV antifreeze is NOT safe to dump on the ground, particularly with respect to the safety of pets and other animals. While RV antifreeze is labeled non-toxic and sometimes even biodegradable (depending on the brand), it’s best to always drain it into a dump station, sewer, or septic tank. RV antifreeze which is made with propylene glycol is far safer than ethanol-based antifreeze and is generally safe when used as directed, though it may be dangerous to animals even in small quantities.
Nice title. Eric's a farmer and a poet.
LOL! The same thought crossed my mind when I saw the title.
It's "What's up in the Hood!
Old reference to Eric's opening of a video once. Cheers all. 🇨🇦
Maybe Eric is “a poet and doesn’t know it!” Love watching from North Carolina!
I was thinking rapper! 😏

Always on point . A lovely morning routine . Keep up the good work Eric.
Looks like you could use some hip waders cause it’s got to be colder when you end up wet too
Love your videos from finland 😊😊

Hello Eric , Do you have problems with fly’s ? What do you uses to keep fly’s away ?
Just a heads up rv antifreeze will rot the seals out of your sprayer. I work at a hardi dealership in northwest Ohio we use regular antifreeze because it does not contain alcohol
Good to know
Those utter brushes will play hell on your back soon or later.
Are you saying that from experience? I could see that if you ran them for too many hours.
I maybe crazy but I love manure pit clean out day!
🐮 💩🤍
4:23 get a surface clear for the pressure washer it will go a lot faster
Hey Eric, can you explain the concept of milking 3 times a day?
Take care Eric. Say hello to the fam and work safe my friend!
Any thoughts so far on the economics of installing the solar panels?
We expect them to pay for themselves in 4 years
Do you ever trim your cows hooves? Just curious since my dad use to do that
Yes, he has a person that does it on a regular schedule.
If you keep that spot wet you shouldn’t have any buildup. You don’t want to have that spot wet in the cold months. You could set up a sprinkler line above that. Just a suggestion. God bless

That is wild that they ran that big of farm in the early to mid 1900s. Probably a ton of work. Thanks for the comment.

STUPID QUESTION: Why not inject your manure below grade? Please keep up the excellent work!
Why didn't you use the new teet cleaner brushes ?
You should have put Delcalax on the concrete before you power washed it off. Get it! Stool softener???? I kill me
Wondering how the Solar Power is working out?
I plan to do a vid about it soon
mono tone voice but darn good story teller !!
I don’t know about everyone else but I could watch power washing vids all day long. Weird huh?
You remind me of the farm's son from Interstellar.
👍👍👍
👍🐄

Funny couldn't see what you were whining about over the cross walk until you scraped it up with the skid loader. Then I was like wow, he wasn't whining. lol
Shouldn't have doubted you son. 👍

Why are your freestalls upside down?
Beautiful spoiled girls. Great video.
lol, it's like you knew just what we were thinking. (Is he gonna spray that in the soil?)
Could you just blow air through your sprayer nozzles? RV antifreeze isn't cheap
I use windshield washer fluid for -32 and never had a problem,,,cheaper!!!

Show us where all the milk goes

Hi Eric that's a lot of poo under there. There should be a good video cleaning out the pit.
Where's your location
👍🇺🇦
First 😊
Pit full of political promises
Wow, that poo turns into like poo plastic.
