same this song is everywhere...happy...sad...its beautiful and it gives off emotions and feelings to the listener ....I really love the recorded version...though this version is great and Jack Lee and Nathan East go off in this version though.
This always makes me sad as I think Taxi was broadcast in the Uk on a Monday evening and I could never watch the end as I had a keyboard lesson at 8pm . I always went off with this now iconic piece reverberating in my head. Teacher would scold me as she catch me playing this when she was tuned into the other pupil. Also the great opening credit scenes of the taxi making its way around 70s NYC are nostalgic. Great prog and player. PS 45 years later still playing keys and love
Everytime I listen to this song it makes me cry. It was played at my cousin Angela's funeral it was her fav song as she was also a big fan of the show.
When the real world becomes a little too ugly, a listen to Angela will remind you there is beauty left. I dont care if I seem melodramatic with that comment whatsoever.
Can remember sitting in my grandma’s living room in Canarsie late at night and watching RE-runs of Taxi and not getting it- but this song takes me back
Oh my goodness such a good music Angela is, always brings me back years ago in my family home in Malaysia, laying on my back infront of telly as an 8yo at 10pm watching Taxi
Add me to the list of LOVING this rendition of Angela. When I watch Taxi I don't skip the opening or closing credits because of this wonderful timeless piece!!
Gotta love Bob and that guitar player is absolutely fabulous. So sweet. Put your headphones on for this one kids, great audio, kudos to the sound engineer.
Brings back good memories of the time when music were performed by highly accomplished musicians. Eric Gale would have been looking down from Heaven and approving this performance. Great audio recording too. Thanks for sharing.
So much do I enjoy his music all these years after I first heard him at the piano amazing a crowd in our HS library making wonderful improvised music at age 8 in our hometown of Marshall MO. I was lucky to grow up there and though a small town it has a Philharmonic Orchestra and a slogan of "Marshall is Music".
Is this laid back or is this laid back. What a wonderful ear for a beautiful melody Bob James has always had. Wonderful and his very own “Angela” is timeless.
You can see the enjoyment of these artists while playing. It's not just about performing. It's the connection between the artists as they play like a finely tuned engine. Great musicians, and great post with excellent sound. Thanks for sharing!
Desde que la escuche por primera vez en la introducción de taxi quedó en mi mente..melodia exquisita para escucharla con una buena compañía y un trago...saludos desde cali...
One can note that Mr. James has sheet music in front of him. What an excellent group of musicians; outstanding guitarists, the quiet and understated drumming, and the piano style only Mr. James can play in this lovely song.
Remember when there were venues for this stuff? The world felt more positive, happier and exciting. What happened? What happened to great, inspiring music?
Remember being at the then hammersmith odeon back in the 80 s and someone shouting "goodnite mr walters". Bob just looked up from his keyboard and just smiled, timeless moment.
same ...Jack Lee is amazing with the solo and technique...loved it!!!though Nathan East really captured the emotion and feel of the song...i really like the original guitar solo on the recording it was simplistic yet deep and technical at times.
Enfin !
The tempo is mesmerizing. It is almost out of time yet so involving! Never heard this James piece so jazzerific before!! [This video has a different bass player whom I much prefer to other bassist wearing the bicycling glove in another version this piece.] Thanks for posting this!
Words cant describe. I will never tire of listening to this song💖

Yes. So much emotions welling up inside listening..
Name checks out
Just so fitting that an Angela gets off on Bob James' Angela. You have a beautiful name-sake tune to call your own.....
Angela takes me back to a place I have always been

Not at all, thats what musics supposed to do
Bob James has a special place in his heart for hip hop. Word!
Can remember sitting in my grandma’s living room in Canarsie late at night and watching RE-runs of Taxi and not getting it- but this song takes me back
Wow i stepped by in time listening to this
miss the 80s😥
Oh my goodness such a good music Angela is, always brings me back years ago in my family home in Malaysia, laying on my back infront of telly as an 8yo at 10pm watching Taxi
it must have been the same the world over my friend. I would have been watching it as an 8 year old at 10pm in Dublin, Ireland
very peaceful music isnt it? in a bright calm sunny day, Angela is so calming and brings you to an era where all mistakes are childhood mistakes only
definitely, brings me straight back to some safe childhood place the minute I hear the intro. And the same for so many people.
That's some of the warmest sounding bass I've ever heard.
Nathan East the Bassist
I would definitely take this taxi ride, and you may leave the meter running..simply wonderful.Thank you🚖🚦🚕🛣
There is a new doc about Nathan East on Hulu called "For the Record". He has played on over 2000 albums. Amazing.
Professor Nathan East is a genius on that bass.....you can hear him on many artists and groups such as ToTo live recordings as well.
Add me to the list of LOVING this rendition of Angela. When I watch Taxi I don't skip the opening or closing credits because of this wonderful timeless piece!!
The keys to heaven are on this man's piano.
What a gift, musicians at it’s finest.
As a guitarist and a fan of Bob, Nate and Harvey I'm now a fan of Lee. Great work guys!
Exquisite as any jazz piece I have heard.
sooo good...what a 'Taxi' ride
This is definitely a gem!!! Classic!!
Love from Singapore!!!
Thank you, Jack Lee. That is a wonderful guitar!
such a timeless piece of music. One of my most favorite Bob James music...and the TV series too, in my high school days!
Gotta love Bob and that guitar player is absolutely fabulous. So sweet. Put your headphones on for this one kids, great audio, kudos to the sound engineer.

Bob! A true gem in our musical universe!

Bob does not need sheet music for this song
This could have gone on for another 20 minutes and I'd have been OK with it. Those changes Bob wrote allow for so much great improv.
WOW.......this is special!
Amazing stuff. So much talent, such beautiful music. Wish I was there!
Such
a great tune.
Taxi my favorite show on television besides that 70s show ..great music 🎵🎶🎶 thanks Bob for that wonderful song🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶

Mmmmmm, open and live .Feels so Good.
I absolutely adore the smoldering sexy funk of the original, but I am also really enjoying the smoother jazzier take of this rendition.
