What i also love in this event, that you also have to fight on the island. I love islands design. Its pure arena. Unfortunately until this event you had chance to fight on the ground while doing forts or selling loot

I am so excited for this event it's gonna be so much fun! I think it is super unique and a great change from the classic fleets and forts. (i'd say ashen winds falls under forts, you just fight skellies.) It will be a new way to play. The old worlds events are really similar to each other so I think this will introduce a new dynamic. The world event will have a lot of deviation every time you play it, as you can go to any island. I think It is super flushed out and well made, the sell point only revealing after uniting the key and chest was smart, so you can't cheese it by just opening the chest at the sell point. Also I like that you will be forced to fight on lots of different islands, because some have really cool play environments, but you never really get to fight in them because you are either fighting at a fort or engaging in naval combat. I'm interested to see the way strategies change and the tactics people come up with. I really hope it sells for big money.

It should be fun that's for sure, lots of potential. In my opinion this has the potential to be the best update since hourglass. Even though I personally feel hourglass was a better update than this. Finally there will be another good update haha.

I am pretty scared of something though. "Funny-launching" is still a thing and you can do so while holding items (meaning skull go woo). I hope this doesn't turn into a competiton to see who knows more bugs than the rest.

I feel like stealing the skull is the most simple and easy thing to do.
As you can basically go to the drop point before the person with the skull get there and wait for them near brigsy.. seeing as their ship will be much slower and everyone can see where the drop off point is.
problem with this is that no one is going to end up getting the skull in the first place, because everyone is going to want to steal it.
So I don't know.. but we see how this will go.

I think it'll be similar to how arena was. Plenty of people got the chest itself and plenty of people camped the turn in. It balanced out fine.
@@Chor-SeaOfThieves I do hope so. As I get worried it will end up like skele fleet.. where no one does the main thing in the event and only wants to steal the treasure.. and use the excuse ''its an pirate game''.
But only time will tell. so lets hope it does not end up like something no one ends up doing.

Outside of people running with only the chest or only the key, I feel like this is a really good update. Can’t wait

I think that will be unlikely to occur. Just like running with a fof key. It happens sometime but not often, because there's no reward in doing so

things the skull changes/adds to the game: makes noise instead of fire, spawns skeletons on islands, slows your ship down and is inside a chest that behaves exactly like reaper chests
man i was hyped for the voyage, but BRIGGSY OUTFIT!!!!! it got me fucked up i will sink every ship in the server for her jacket (i would use her mask but i already run sawbone mask standalone

My crew disbanded a few months ago. We would have been stealing these. I wanted to try to solo steal it but I know I’ll be too rusty and would have to invest a lot of time getting gud again

I personally am very negative about it, this doesn't feel the right way to add an activity that asks for PvP:
1) Griefing: it's as easy as just running with the key/chest to make other players loose time. For those who played a lot of Arena, we know that there are places where you can get the loot stuck too, making this impossible to complete for other players.
2) There will be A LOT of sailing, too much for my taste.
3) Ship slowdown makes the gap between ships even bigger: a slowed down sloop og high skilled players will almost certainly lose vs a galleon of high skilled players; on the other hand a slowed down galleon will be able to defend itself from a sloop just by turning on itself.
At the end of the day no matter what the scenario a boat with more people vs a smaller boat (if all people on both boats are the same skill level) the larger boat will win the fight majority of the time.
@@Chor-SeaOfThieves Yep, completely agree! That's why I dislike the slowdown, makes the situation even worse.
@87lallo I think it's good just for the reason that this is a pvp oriented voyage. You aren't suppose to be able to easily get the skull and are rathed forced to fight for it unlike other world events where you could just run with the loot.
@@Chor-SeaOfThieves I think there are more and more healthy ways of giving other crews a chance for a come back. Like having the 2 items needing a ritual that takes some time to open the chest, so that players have the time to come back but will have to fight over the ritual location for the reward.
I don't think the slow down adds something to the PvP, it's only an artificial barrier to give other crews time to catch up and I think there are better ways to do so.
@@PellahTheHero Maybe there is a hypothetical better way, but I'd still say the slow down is good in its own sense as well. 😊
i wonder if harpoon rowboating onto your ship with the skull on the rowie would negate the slow down effect.
I would assume they thought about that and it wouldn't work. But who knows 🤷🏼♂️

Basically an extraction gamemode, 100% will just lead to turn in camping and be lame as fuck.
There may be some of that, but that will at least encourage TDM. And the turn in point is only revealed once the skull itself is in play 🤷🏼♂️
