You didn‘t get burgundy because you accepted a royal marriage offer they sent you. Since the marriage breaks on the sending Rulers death, when Charles of burgundy dies the royal marriage breaks and you are no longer a valid target for the event. Event choices are emperor of the HRE, France and highest dev royal marriage, the latter of which was Brunswick instead of you. TLDR: YOU need to send the marriage offer, not accept theirs.
@@LarsOrlyI think it’s mostly so you can’t get them as utrecht or one of the other high-dev monarchies in the lowlands, so you can’t just speed form the Netherlands with no AE
minor nitpick @ 36:24 That's not how dalaskogen works. The monument grants a flat goods produced modifier, so developing there isn't anymore effective than developing somewhere else would be, when it comes to income, since diplo dev also gives flat goods produced. (The same goes for manufactories btw, manufactories don't give more income in high dev provinces than in low dev provinces, all else being equal, manufactories will always yield the same amount of cash)
You’re absolutely right, but I will add: what Dalaskogen IS good for is any mission that changes what trade good your capital produces. Set Dalaskogen as your capital as Lubeck, then take that gold production mission and check out your new 50+ production dev gold province
While that is true in isolation, combining it with a workshop makes investing in an already high development/high production province more valuable than in a low production province, because workshops are percentage based. So increasing the production value by 10% of a province with let's say 11 base production will increase the value by 1.1 base production equivalent. While doing the same for a 2 base production will only increase the value by 0.2 base production equivelent in value. For this reason, before DAlaskogen became a monument, you used to be able to solve all of your monmey problems as sweden by spamming production in dalaskogen early on to something arond 10, and make 4-6 ducats/month with no maintnance.
I Just realized I completely misunderstood what you were saying. For some reason I thought you were talking about building workshops XD. It is still better to stack base production in one province though because the investment cost for 1 building is lower than 2. But yeah, I was a bit loopy in the above comment lol.
Hell yea, Sweden is always a great time, you get so many wild bonuses super early in the game. And while technically Denmark allows for a faster Scandinavia speed-form (with much lower AE cost), in this campaign you're still on track to very comfortably pull it off before Age of Reformation, which is still crazy early to get their Cav Fire and Admin Efficiency
If you go down the mission tree and max out Caroleans they become so OP. I could send a 30 stack from Sweden to the Papal States during the league war without them encountering any resistance.
When burgundy falls under an ally it is not random. It is always their strongest ally that they have a royal marriage with, since it went to Brunswick and you were stronger it means you either didn't marry them or accepted their offer causing the marriage to end before the event fired.
Why not take any COTs from Tuetonic order in LivOrder war considering you only have a few nations still in war and tyour muscovite AE is only with Orthodoxs
don't really like taking highly dev provinces while they're not cobelligerent, i usually just wait until Poland takes it -> take 1 province from them -> release subject and eat it all up
don't remember exactly why i didn't cob them but in my mind i didn't take the provinces for AE because i planned and did expand in the nearby areas shortly. In the end, they're my vassal and i can take the provinces in 1 war so is this really a big deal 🤔
The actual reason sweden is op is because you can join the HRE after the first war vs denmark, quickly revoke, flip Norse, snake to china and become emperor of china to have a bucketload of ccr and conquer the world super fast!
@@GolemEntonly issue is that flipping norse if you can't revoke before the reformation spawns is pretty annoying, and even if you manage the early revoke savescumming for the norse event tends to cause some sanity damage
I hope you guys enjoy this one, Sweden was a lot of fun to play! 500 likes = PT 2 = colonising new world even more and continuing the mission tree
Something i like to do is making Riga a march and send them officers. They will run around with 30-40k troops and clap the AI
Lol that does sound fun

oh shit i did, at least i think i can still take a province of brunswick and reconquest
Small correction, it's not highest dev Rm, it's highest # of provinces for some reason.

@@LarsOrly Yep, managed to get them as the ruskies, 5 nations with more dev at the time, 1 of them Non-Emperor Austria had also a rm with them
Sweden was a very fun run for myself, I went for the HRE Emperor route.
Best thing of eu4 is you can come back to Sweden 2 years later take the same route and still have fun.
They do have a pesky achievement involving the HRE
you're one of my fav eu4 youtubers tbh. keep up the good work. and next sweden part plz been waiting for this from you
thank dude! i'll be recording the next part as soon as i can

go norse and form the north sea empire!
