I have a way of doing locations that you should try.
I make my first verse location one, my second verse location four, and if there is a third verse location seven. My first chorus is location two, my second chorus is location five and my third chorus is location eight.
Turn around after the first chorus is location three, solo after the second chorus is location six and the Outro is location nine.
I have always designated the top of file as location 77 and the end of fade is location 99.
If you have a long verse then you name the second half of it 11 or 44 or 77. If you have a long chorus you name the second half of it 22 or 55 or 88.
Simple Nashville stuff but it works.

This is brilliant. Took me a bit to understand the point, but when I put my hand in place it all clicked. Thanks for the tip

    Hi there!
I'm very grateful to find your tutorial on here Sir, you're doing a marvelous job 👏
Quick question!, Are the markers automatically colored or you did it somehow we didn't see it??

  • @MegaBerent

What would be your guys approach to organizing a session with multiple songs? I made a mistake of using the same session, we recorded 9 songs and overdubs now I have a super huge session with a hundred tracks that goes on forever. I'm looking into exporting the individuals song as new sessions. I dropped markers for every take and made a playlist for every overdub. Just wondering if there's a better approach.
    Thanks!

Thanks Ben so many pitfalls learning Pro Tools. I love the program but when I began this PT's journey back in 2014 I had no idea what I was getting into. Up until recently a year ago I had spent more time NOT recording because of the learning curb it really sucks. I am a player who has to be an engineer by default

I concur… I got frustrated and decided to just take an expensive pro tools course at Berklee online college … I am in the 5 th week of the first course and I have learned more in that time than the last 5 years or more. I was going down those UA-cam rabbit holes jumping from one concept to the next and not getting a structured basic understanding of Pro tools may levels of functionality. I am no longer intimidated by the nuances of the software it”s like learning advanced math..hard to do trig and calculus if you never totally got the basics of algebra and geometry.
