I love hot-rodded wagons!! Especially the older Caprice. When I was a kid, my parents owned a '74 Caparice Estate wagon. Had all power, 454 BBC, and 400 Hydramatic. We put over 300K miles on it before it gave up the ghost. I love the wheels you guys chose, although Cragar SS/T would've been my first choice. Nice work, fellas!! 💪🔥

That generation box Caprice is still one of my favorites from GM. Lots of room for family, and plenty of room for performance upgrades. Make it an absolute cruiser boys.

I own a 77 oldsmobile vista cruiser station wagon and it was my grandparents. I absolutely love old station wagons you can't go wrong with a v8 power plant and a turbo 400 transmission. I love watching projects like this though. It's a great platform for improvement.

I’m old enough to have read about it back then and it blew my mind, every now and then an article about it would pop up somewhere, who knows where it is now but would be cool to replicate it now.

Well this brings back memories, after our first sone was born (1985) wife and I bought a 1985 Caprice wagon fully loaded with a 305 4bbl, man I loved that car, we put over 200,000 on it and it was running just fine when we sold it 10 years later. Of course I was fanatical about maintenance but even still, what a great car. Loving this episode obviously.

If that Chevy had an am radio stock and cruise and a/c and a matching gold-ish interior it’s entirely likely this is the wagon from my childhood. Caprice wagons were relatively rare without wood siding and ours was something of a unicorn. Curious if y’all have the build sheet.

Actually, a lot of truck parts were exchangeable with the full-size car (Impala/Caprice) during that time period. Police cars, for the most part. A word of caution. Always gently (without power) test parts in the shop before putting them into service. For example. You were talking about putting truck rims on that car. Which again at the time were 5 × 5". HOWEVER. some Impala/Caprice rims came from the factory riveted. As such, light machining of the brake caliper (about 3/16") would be required on a Silverado/Sierra. In order to achieve proper clearance. Thanks for the great video! 👍
