I like this lanyard approach to pocket carry. For several years, I carried a Spyderco Para 2, and used the pocket clip. Problem I had with pocket clip carry was, the friction generated between the scales and my trouser material shredded the pockets on my work pants. I was wearing Carhartt work pants, which were made of a sturdy canvas, but even those just shredded under the friction from the Spydie on a pocket clip. This idea of connecting a lanyard to a belt loop is nice. It nicely solves that problem of my SAK slipping out of my pocket. I came close to losing my Alox Electrician several times when it would slip out of my pocket on city buses.
I started using this modification since I ....well... have too many SAKs. Depending on what I am doing I can now easily change between the plethora of knives at my disposal. Great video by the way.
What a simple yet great mod for these SAK's. I watched part 1 and couldn't agree more about the bottom of the pocket discomfort. I did this mod to my Recruit and will for the rest for my SAK's. THANK YOU!
I came here for this. I have always heard, the best tool is the one you have when you need it. I have cut string with my SAK, case cutter, kitchen knife, scissors, a railroad spike and hammer, friction against an abrasive surface, car keys, and once or twice with my teeth. Whatever gets the job done.

I've had my SAK slip out of my pocket while sitting in the car. This is the perfect fix to make sure I don't lose it
