Only ever bought basic cars. I only want a car to go from one place to another. I reluctantly must consider myself an older driver now at 64 and I changed to a Citroen C3 You in December 2023. I had a Xsara Picasso for 15 years prior to this but felt, as my second child has now finished Uni and I no longer have to move the entire contents of his accommodation around the country, it was time to downsize. I live in London, where 90% of roads are now 20mph maximum speed (for some absurd reason), so the only modern feature I was after was a speed limiter to flick on and off to keep me legal. Without this feature, I was more dangerous to people as I would be looking at my speedometer more than the road. The C3 You includes a speed limiter and cruise control and I am enjoying the driving experience despite the drop in power from 1600 to 1200cc. I can play music from the DAB radio or from my MP3 files on my USB memory stick or Bluetooth to my phone, which I use for navigation. I don't know what I am missing by not having car-play but can't think of anything else I would want. The car does not have fancy parking cameras at the back but I have managed for 47 years without them anyway so again do not know what I am missing. I like the soft sand basic colour and, all in all, this seems like good value for the money from my experience so far.
I take delivery of mine next week. thanks for your thoughts on yours.. same model.. Mine is used.. 7,000 on the clock and 16 months old. I do hardly any mileage so the annual average is set to go down a lot. Same as you, I do not need anything swish bang.. I will be happily pootling around the local roads here in Suffolk.. and hate to say it.. these days back and forth to hospital on a regular basis, lol. I am 68. If you see this. did yours come with tinted windows?
@@mariahoulihan9483 Officially tinted side windows but it is only a slight tint. I am now 6 months into my ownership of this car. I have just passed 1500 miles and 300 of those were a return trip to the Isle of wight. I live in a 30 mph area but I have found setting the speed limiter, to 21 mph and turning it on /off with a simple push on the end of the stalk, exceptionally handy. I have not used the cruise control feature as yet. So far so good and I hope you are as pleased with yours when you get it.
You also have to bear in mind that the top model of the C3 here in Germany costs around 5000 euros more and is not (much) better finished. Only the electronic equipment and the seats are better. That's why we opted for the basic model. Another argument in its favor was that I like to have the navigation system running on a separate tablet (costs me 100 Euro) at eye level and the route display doesn't disappear when I want to change the temperature. I can also operate the air conditioning blindfolded, as there are rotary switches. My last car was an AUDI A2, driven for 21 years.
Ive got mine since 2021...its not as fuel economic as u think but its quite nippy once u ride it in.french cars literally adapt to ur drivestyle for the first 5k km's so if u drive sporty itll feel sporty but u buy citroen for the smooth carpet ride feel which u cant get in any other car in this pricerange.
My parents bought one a few months ago in Romania.I really like driving it,its a funny little car.I It cost 11300 euro(with the ecobonus voucher).I have a Toyota corolla sedan hybrid but i have to be honest that sometimes i enjoy driving this little C3.
Def worth the money. I have a top of the range c3 and was given one as a courtesy car from the garage when it was in for a service. There is def enough power. I think maybe the screen with apple car play should have been put in. I think people will miss this. I do have to say the heating controls with nobs is great. Mine has fancy on screen heating controls that are crap. Great value for money car i think.
I have a 2014 C3 selection 1.2 VTI 82, very reliable and comfortable, hanging onto it as long as I can, I also like the higher seating position in it, not sure if the new ones have that? What I don't like on the new cars is that there are no heating control knobs I have checked the specs on the "You" C3 against my 1.2 C3 selection, which was one below the Exclusive, the "you" C3 has a slightly higher spec than my 2014 selection apart from the 17inch alloy wheels and is around the same price as 2014
I bought this car last week, seems like a great car for it's price. I'm a bit of a basshead so I'm also quite curious about the sound quality of the speakers.
Super good clip! I'm really thinking very seriously about choosing between Dacia Sandero and Citroen C3, both in the same level of equipment. I'm really very curious if you could tell me what would be the best choice?! Thank you!
Maybe do a road test somewhere with hill? I hired a non turbo C3 petrol for a week. It was horrible. Underpowered, too soft suspension, sloppy gear stick, and it really struggled to go up hills. Ok on flat roads but a liability on very steep hills.
I am a Francophile car fan. I think french small cars are there for abuse by anyone French. They don’t care about their cars, just drive.check abroad there are many old Renaults, Citroens, fiats, bashed to bits but still working. I have a very old berlingo and it works like a dog for its living. Totally dependable, zero rust, flimsy as hell inside but tough as old boots. Their mechanicals are very sorted. As a buyer of older cars I quire rate french cars much more than the German ones. On this car thought the wet belt is a nightmare. It needs maintaining on time and regular quality oil.
@@BuckleUpShow I've driven hundreds of cars over the years, the C3 is one that stands out as one of the worst overall. Especially taking into account it was brand spanking new with like 2 miles on the clock.
After 10 days and 1.700 Km of driving I wouldn't recommend anyone such a toy car. The 3 cylinder engine is noisy, underpowered, very slow acceleration and on top of that an average of 6,3 L/100 Km.
Unfortunately not on this lowest spec model. You have to upgrade to the next trim level and then option the more powerful engine to get an auto. Then it costs over £19k!
I had a c3 and am considering another as i found it a very comfy little car for the money. Re fuel consumption. I found on a ling run and driven carefully i could get close to 60mpg (honest!) but i would agree it was very under powered and an extra gear would have been good

The basic car makes a lot of sense
Cheap AND cheerful. Rare nowadays.
Indeed!
Perfect car for the dutch. Because this country is small. Driving from A to B is max about 300 km. Love from Holland.
And no hills, so lack of power isn’t such an issue. Thanks for watching!
Great review. Hired one in Menorca last year. Slow, but spacious, quiet and very comfortable.
Thank you 🙏 I bet it was great to drive in the sunshine ☀️

I love how honest these are. When I reviewed a c3 last year, the drivers door hit off the front wing when you opened it 😢
No frills, no fuss, just good old fashioned back to basics motoring
Just purchased a 73 plate C3 max automatic. Absolutely love it . good review too,
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!

Yeah, I sort of have this small war against manufacturers not having physical climate controls going on right now
Do you have problems with the wet belt and how many km you have untill now.I also have c3 from 2023 an I love it.
Got one ,nice runaround ,good mpg, looks good ,what more do you want.
Its proper back to basics motoring
you should try a mitsubishi space star/mirage tho..sort of a fun little car..personally i liked it more than a c3,
Mitsubishi left the UK market a few years ago, and even when the Mirage was here it never sold well so you don't really see them

The speakers won’t be the best in the world, but it depends what you’re switching out of as to how good the ones in the C3 sound
do u think it’s a good car for a first time driver, would ensurance be too high
Yes it’s a good starter car and the insurance should be one of the lowest out there

It very difficult to choose between them, so I won’t if that’s okay 😅
Excellent review and the car certainly offers value in a market of grossly overpriced cars.
Thank you 🙏

I only have one smile and I wasn’t aware it was ‘sour’
Compare 2:56 vs 4:56
I think it’s fairly obvious that 4:56 is referring to earlier smiles like 2:56

Have you heard of changing down a gear
Drove a base C3 in Spain as a hire car this month. Basic. Comfy. Biggish boot.
This or a Dacia Sandero would be a close call.
Maybe we’ll have to get both cars together one day 👀
You need to keep your eyes on the road. Take us through the specs when parked up otherwise your a liability mate and risk hurting yourself.
Firstly it’s *you’re*
Secondly, have you ever seen any video ever of a car review? Some of us are capable of driving and talking at the same time.

If your only complaint is it needs maintaining on time, then I think that’s a reasonable for Citroen to expect from its owners
For 90% of the video we see your face instead of the car.
You’re welcome
I very much doubt it as i had a top of the range one for an entire weekend a few years back as a rental. Horrendous thing.
Even for the money? You need to take into account this is one of the cheapest cars you can buy in the UK
