New to this business! I just ordered a machine today and I’m picking up tomorrow! Super excited about this as I already have a profitable Cotton Candy business. This is just going to add to my sales when I feel it’s too hot, humid or too cold to make Cotton Candy. I needed something extra and this is it! I can’t wait to learn from you and thank you for sharing all of your tips, tricks, and knowledge!
I recently(today) spoke to Harvest Right tech support about my FD not having the Candy mode, and they emailed me a software update which I downloaded to a stick drive, plugged into my FD and it updated the software so I could more easily FD CANDY.
What settings do you use because I did what he did in both his videos and they turned out hard as rocks…so hard you couldn’t bite them…abut 25% were fluffy and crunchy like a cloud but the rest was trash
I store candy in these storage bins: - 5 Gallon Storage Pails with Gamma Screw Lid - amzn.to/3ICnXdT. They last 6 months to up to a year I've found but keep in climate controlled rooms.
I'm pretty new to freeze drying. I did an airhead batch turned out great. I tried airhead xtremes. But they just got hard. Have you tried these? Also I have a question i have noticed at times that sometimes I have things on the same tray (all same item on same tray) some of them don't freeze dry. Have you come across this?
Still learning! Love all the information, thanks bunches! Batch #11 and I've finally filled up my large HRFD with whole Jolly ranchers and halved Laffy Taffy. Im praying I didn't damage the pump, since i noticed it was practically EMPTY!! I thought the brand new ones didn't need more oil for quite a number of batches!! I'm sure glad I peeked at the viewing glass! Can I just use food grade Mineral Oil like I buy at the grocer, since that's what the oil jug says it is?? Same stuff I oil my butcher block with!? Dang, my pump is quiet again. Please say my pump is gonna be ok!😢 There was still a smidge in there. I'd likevto fill it up PAST HALF full, thoughts? TIA
Hey David I saw in the comments in one of your other videos about using a stamp for your logos . My wife had that suggestion for us . Where do you get your stamp from and do you use a stamp for the calories and ingredients section too
Thank you for watching, yes I hand stamp all the front areas of my bags. Here is where I get the stamp: www.zazzle.com/personalized_business_logo_large_stationery_rubber_stamp-256538145050104365?rf=238503539567772737 I use Avery labels for the ingredients labels: amzn.to/3VEpjbo
Harvest Right has been a steady machine for me, it has it's issues at times but overall they have the most varieties of machines. I'd recommend the Large to start your business which is around $3200-$3500. affiliates.harvestright.com/1974.html
I think warming the trays is going to get them to puff more than what you see in my video, try that at 150 degrees for 3-4 hour dry time and let me know
I have don't airheads many times with little issue, but today's remaind flat and hard and did. Ot puff upmat all.....??? Can I heat them in the oven and try to rerun like lemon heads?? Or are they trash. They are so hard, I do not want to sell them.
I wonder if an asmr-focused audio recording would enhance the "taste test" part of these vids since the change in texture is a big part of the result. thanks again.

Glad you upgraded
Airheads have definitely been my best sellers! People go nuts over them. 😁
Agreed!!

Thank you David for your videos. I appreciate learning about the successful batches you share with us. Happy trails!
My pleasure!
Just got my HR Medium!
Love it!
thanks for the vid
Thanks for watching!
I forgot to press the 'Candy Mode "on" button - Oops. That was a total game😮changer
Yep!
👍👍👍👍👍
Airheads sell good.
I will be testing them this holiday season
Hi thanks for your information. Can you tell me how you store your candies and for how long?
I store candy in these storage bins: - 5 Gallon Storage Pails with Gamma Screw Lid - amzn.to/3ICnXdT. They last 6 months to up to a year I've found but keep in climate controlled rooms.

Yes, it's common to have the top and bottom trays not be consistent. Just has to do with the heat sensors or the ways the shelving warms

Thank you for watching! I would contact Harvest Right on oil for the pump.
Try. Heating the trays and see if it changes anything
I thought about that after the cycle and I think they would expand even more.
I just got a harvest right freezer and I’m needed help with the settings. Can you help me please.
What settings?

@@freezedriedbusiness Thank you For that Share om the Stamp
Do they stick to the tray if you don’t line the tray?
Didn’t find they stuck too much, not like Charleston chews
Put your candy in the refrigerator for a few minutes and the wrapper should come off much easier.
Good tip!
Is a freeze dryer and dehydrator same thing that’s what comes up
No completely different.
@@freezedriedbusiness thanks i will look at Home Depot
So when you do candy you go straight to the 150 degrees? You don't freeze the candy first and then the machine goes into dry mode and heats up.
No need to freeze candy your not really freeze drying it anyways all your doing is heating it up so the vacuum puffs it up
Great reply, was going to say the same thing. Thank you!
Hi gdmorning David, I'm from South Africa, can u tell me how much is this freeze dried machine, and where can I buy or which company I can buy it from
Harvest Right has been a steady machine for me, it has it's issues at times but overall they have the most varieties of machines. I'd recommend the Large to start your business which is around $3200-$3500. affiliates.harvestright.com/1974.html
if we resell are we allowed to mention "airheads" in the label?
Not in the title of your product but you can put it in the ingredients area.
Mine got hard but did not expand and I heated the trays to 140 then I froze for 11 minutes and then I put the trays in and I doing something wrong
I think warming the trays is going to get them to puff more than what you see in my video, try that at 150 degrees for 3-4 hour dry time and let me know
Are you saying not to freeze at all. I have the older model
I have don't airheads many times with little issue, but today's remaind flat and hard and did. Ot puff upmat all.....??? Can I heat them in the oven and try to rerun like lemon heads?? Or are they trash. They are so hard, I do not want to sell them.
You would try heating the trays for 10 minutes and then rerunning them
I want to start freeze drying in uk but carnt get machines only from USA. With shipping and containers $5.000 too much
Here's a German manufacturer: www.freezedryfood.de/en/about-us/contact-us/
Do you add OA to your bags of candy?
No, not for candy. It actually impacts them negatively.
I wonder if an asmr-focused audio recording would enhance the "taste test" part of these vids since the change in texture is a big part of the result. thanks again.
That would be cool! I'm not sure ASMR is what people are looking for on this channel specifically but I do think some Shorts would be fun to do.
Do you have a video on gummy bears
No I don’t
Been trying to reach you several times no one called me back.. I sent a message through the contact page and no response.
Hey there! I still haven’t see anything come through, sorry. Did you email me through freezedrieddepot.com? Try that for now.
"Thanks for contacting us. We'll get back to you as soon as possible."@@freezedriedbusiness
Unless you have a different name than your username listed here, I don’t see any emails from Ariel. Email me at david@freezedrieddepot.com
