    Eating the jook made from the recipe as I write this. I've made this numerous times and the recipe is bland so i always had a bunch of scallions, a bunch of cilantro, white pepper, soy sauce, and some salt to it. Its a good basic recipe that can be doctored up like adding traditional century egg and pork etc etc.

    Just wondering may I know how come it takes 30 minutes to cook the porridge when you can cook porridge for 10 minutes?

    in your video you used Saute for 30 mins with lid on...I remember the manual said don't close the lid with saute mode, which one is right?

      Hi Linda, you are absolutely right about not using the saute mode with the lid on. I have accidentally edit in the wrong clip in this video. Please cook the congee on Manual for 30 minutes as stated in our blog's recipe.

    the ip ill be using has a congee/porridge button. why not use that instead of manual?

      Hi Rose, thanks for the question. The only thing different between the two buttons is for the manual button, you can set your own time :)
