You don't get bad omen any more, you get ominous bottles. You should start shearing sheep to make carpets so you can use them to get around the ancient city. Plus have wool blocks to block chest to not set the things off to call the Warden.
That's quite a base location. So many of the new structures nearby. Very cool. I would worry about Thorns. Yes, it does cause more durability loss but once you get mending and unbreaking 3, it will hardly be an issue.
I always seem to break out into the roof of a massive cave or flooded cave when on my way down to diamond level. I wish there were more uninterrupted areas of stone to mine in. Not as interesting though I suppose. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the ancient city.
