  • Russell Wilson has had an interesting career. Many highlights and key moments. Such as winning a Super Bowl and multiple Pro Bowl appearances. However some were not so good, those include his "argument" with Sean Payton on the sidelines and the infamous Superbowl INT. Some may call Russell Wilson cringe because of the "let's ride " slogan when he was with the Denver Broncos. Others love his character. With all of that being said that brings us to this question. How good was Prime Russell Wilson Actually?

There was a time when I thought Russell was the best player in the league .
Ps the Donkeys had no running game and below average receivers last year and RW had 29 TDs and brought a garbage team back from the dead. His reward was getting sacrificed.

Within the Hall of Fame they need to introduce a Tier between people who had a large part of their career be Hall of Fame Worthy and deserve to get in, but parts of their career marred by injury or poor coaching or poor play from teammates. A Hall of Legends for those in the Hall of Fame who had a clearly more decorated career. But, aside from that opinionable note. I do believe with poor play, Russ is somewhat working himself out of a first ballot hall of fame, but a hall of famer in a few years following first eligibility as people remember what he did and not what he is doing. Hopefully he fixes his career in Pitt before it is too late a few true post season runs even without winning it all would do it.

This is just my armchair opinion: Russ is similar to Aaron Rodgers, but shorter and more importantly, less structured in his game. Aaron plays backyard ball too but is better at reading the defense pre snap, little things like that. And those with structure tend to be more consistent. Russ gets hot and cold, his best years like 2015 get overshadowed by a handful of bad games.
His prime is under appreciated. From roughly 2015-2020 with a hiccup or two, he kept the seahawks offense afloat. He wasnt perfect but absolutely proved hes not a career game manager. As much as people meme the super bowl Russ was not someone you wanted to play against come post season.

16:22 He wasn't benched to ensure he didn't get hurt. Benching him was a cheap trick from Sean Payton and the front office to get him to renegotiate his contract

Yesss that's correct. I'm sorry for not fully clarifying that point and going in deeper. It was to prevent the injury guarantee from kicking in. He didn't wanna remove that from his contract & I don't blame him!

      @@huescinema Great video anyways!
May I suggest in future videos you don't spend much time reading stats, you can just show them on screen
Instead use that time to mention key story points, like the game at GB being the classic Fail Mary, or some of his insane 8 game streaks where he was torching everyone
      Or all the LetRussCook hype
