Her Majesty, the Queen and other members of the Royal Family are attending a service of thanksgiving for the life of Prince Philip at Westminster Abbey.
Despite unspecified health problems, the monarch, 95, has rallied to make an appearance at the high-profile and personally significant occasion in honour of her husband of over 70 years.
It's her first major public engagement away from her permanent residence at Windsor Castle for over six months.

When I was 19 I was at the international horse show, then at Wembly. I was leaning on the barrier in the collecting ring. Horses coming and going. I was waiting for a particular rider who I fancied. Chap standing next to me asked a few questions about the horses and I pointed out a few. He asked who the riders were and I told him the one I fancied. Anyway, after a while he turned around and said "good luck with your chap". It was Prince Philip. I hadn't even looked until then. He was chuckling.

I was ill 2 months ago but I was well enough to attend our memorial for Prince Philip on Sunday morning with my 2009 Woody, my sister, Mummy and Woody.EXE. Woody.EXE did a amazing memorial service, I remember he put Westminster Abbey bells behind my house to let the crowd know all 5 of us were coming home

An outstanding memorial, to a truly great man, who will always be part of our history. Prince Phillip, a life well lived, an example to us all, on duty, and how to carry it out. The best of the best.

We just buried our one and only brother 1and half week ago, He was 89 yrs old. Surely most of the people who'll read this will say he's old..My sisters and I have a very close relationship with him and we are deeply saddened

This is so true. I have loss 3 younger siblings to Covid and two of them died 2 weeks apart. My 95 year old dad just died this passed Thursday. He was grieving the passing of 3 sons . He was very bright and active but outliving 3 of his children caused him untold pain. There are 6 of us left . Mother died 2/2010.

I am looking at the guys standing at the entrance. It reminds me of when I was a child and had to wait for hours along the routes that the Royals passed when they visited Trinidad. I remember dancing at the oval for one of them. Beryl Mc Bernie had us practising for the dances for weeks. I remember standing in Skinner Park for hours with the schools when I was a very small at a rally. I think it was for Princess Royal. Every time one of the Royal family came, we had to line the streets whether it be in my rangers uniform or in my school uniform. We stood there in the hot sun with the Union Jack in our hands. We are an independent country now so I have no idea when one of them visited in recent years. It turned me into a Royal fan and have continued the practice. I have seen the Queen and Prince Phillip a few times. I have seen a lot of them on several occasions including the beautiful Princess Margaret, Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Close up views were in Trinidad and Toronto, and in Toronto within 8 feet. Yes, I am a royal watcher and fan who have waited for many hours to see them. As a result London is one of my favourite places to visit. I hope the Queen lives as long as her mother.

I still looked unwell when I attended Woody.EXE’s memorial for Prince Philip but I knew the crowd wanted to see their Queen so I did it for my fans. Everyone was cheering in Wales as they saw their Queen for the first time since February as I still recovering from my illness and I’m only 20. Then my 2009 Woody helped me into Wales’s Abbey which got everyone in the crowd ligit crying as my sister and Mummy followed behind. After the service, I went to greet the crowd and they said “I’m glad you’re looking better” I actually hugged a few well wishers that day and I’m not really supposed too because I’m Queen but I decided to break protocol anyway

I’m finding it interesting to note the difference between the dignatories who pause to acknowledge the people in the line up, in contrast to those who stride past seemingly showing no acknowledgement whatsoever.
I felt sympathy for the young people in military uniforms who were standing in a queue outside of the Abbey. It was a cold day in London!

I am a Brit living in Canada and I was so pleased to see this video. It would have been wonderful to have a running commentary on the dignitaries who arrived. However, it was wonderful to see our amazing Queen, looking sad but so stoic as she has been all her life. !

Never seen them before on display. Princess Anne speaking to the soldiers at the entrance reminds me so much of Prince Philip. She really inherited a lot from him.
The purple jackets are from the Duke of Edinburgh Award organisation. The young people wearing them are gold medal recipients. (As are the cadets in military uniforms.)
I'm so happy The Princess Royal stopped to speak to the young man in the D o E sweatshirt on the end! I think he felt he was being ignored by the military people. Just a word can mean so much. I love that she was interested in the young people. Bless the Duke of Kent, it looks like he is in difficulty, always there to support the Queen and his family. Golly, even Prince Michael looks crickity, and he's the youngest! Haven't seen them all in action in a long while.

I can't imagine, but you must have achieved something great to be chosen for this duty, and know you have no military training to stand at attention. I can't imagine the nervousness and anxiety to perform with those cameras on you. You are lovely, and I am sure the Duke is so proud of what you have achieved. I was praying for you with my whole heart, recognizing how difficult and nerve wracking it must have been. I can't imagine that pressure. I'm sure you will do great things in your life.
