The smile on Rick face is everything! Like, can you imagine the proudness and happiness that he's feeling? Finally seeing his creation being adapted in a way tha he aprove? I'm so happy for him.
Little scary about the casting choice but his face light like you said gives me full confidence and comfort it’s gonna be great!

i grew up with pjo and to see that the actors playing the iconic trio are so well-spoken and dedicated to their roles means so much to me. you can tell they’re approaching this project in earnest because they’re fans too. walker’s experience with the story (reading the books in school alongside all of his classmates) echoes the same experience that many of the audiences had when the story first came out so they’ll be doing it for the kids of that time who have now grown up patiently waiting for a faithful adaptation, including myself 🧡

i love seeing the kids being so pumped up about their roles. it makes me so happy that besides playing their role they're also having fun and enjoying themselves and forming friendships that'll last for years and playing goofy games and posting silly videos together and getting to BE KIDS.
I know right! I also love how happy Rick was as well. He looked so cheerful when the kids where talking about how they found out about the books.

Mad respect to Oliver for recommending PJO to Walker. Not only was it a great recommendation but he contributed to getting his buddy the part of the main character in the adaptation of one of fantasy’s most popular books.

I feel like Aryan is so underrated! I can’t wait to see the BTS footage when the show comes out and OF COURSE the show itself! It’s gonna be so amazing and from what we’ve seen so far, from casting to set photos to the trailer, I am so excited.

This TV series is going to be incredible. I love the connection the cast has, and the way they act while around each other is like how I imagined it in the books. The kids could just sit and talk and I’d watch them.
I honestly dont think ive ever been so excited for a series in my life, the actors are incredible i love how excited they are for their roles. I really really cant wait. The only problem is....... I don't have disney plus.

My heart hurts for the actress playing annabeth. She's so sweet and talented, i believe she will be great onscreen but it breaks my heart seeing so many critics and RACISTS who "claim they're not racist" bullying and harassing her. I don't care what the excuse is. "We just want an accurate casting" No. No one should go through this. She is only a kid and receiving so much hate, she has so much acting talent and she can't even do it peacefully because of hateful people claiming that they hate the "black washing" or saying "sorry but not my annabeth".
It's so simple. Either watch the show or don't. It's up to you... don't know why people can't keep their gigantic mouths shut. But don't you dare discredit the artist and her talent by saying the show won't be good just because you don't like her casting.

This is so wrong in every way. They ate all the opposite of the original characters. It's all a marketing angle and it works for some who clearly haven't read the books.
I cannot wait to watch this series. If the story is strong, faithful, and fun, then i will never nitpick about the minor issues of the casting choices. This is going to be awesome, I can feel it.

Friendly reminder that actors with different appearance would have gotten different performances! Casting outside of book descriptions for all 3 (blond and non white) actually proves that they chose the best actors overall not just the best tanned white girl with curly blond hair etc.
Finally it’s here. Walker is talented. I want to see him play someone super smart. And I like his friendship with Ryan Reynolds

Just starting re reading the series for again for the first time in 10 years and the trailer made me legit emotional 😢
I started reading the books when I was like 7 and my biological mom was never present so once I finished the first book I panicked and was like “I don’t wanna die” to my dad and he was confused for atleast an hour so that was fun
I have a great feeling about Aryan as Grover. I'm trying to trust Rick Riordan with this new au of Percy and Annabeth so we'll see how it turns out when the show comes.
I love diversity in movies and shows but changing the characters look from how it was originally written and imagined by many is really annoying. No hate to the actress in general. Lovely and beautiful girl but she is simply NOT Annabeth. Annabeth is blonde with grey eyes and so are all her siblings. If it was written otherwise and imagined by us for so many years otherwise then no issue but I'm so sick of this changing original characters to try and prove something. It's doing the opposite and losing fans and let's not forget respect from old fans. Write a new book with a new character if you are actually open to it. But no, they're too lazy to do it because they can't actually put them in that mindset. Ps. The boy's hair should be black. Once again, cute but wrong.
@@itsjustmylife_x yeah, I agree. But if you read Rick Riordan's official address of this on his website, it's clear he stands by his decision and doesn't care what the fans think. His argument is that they're really great actors whose personalities fit the roles, so I'm gonna wait till the show comes out and see if Rick was all talk.

Honestly, I'm so excited to see the gods especially played out in this because with the movies, the only god we actually got to see a snippet of a personality from was Hermes, and that was only for like 5 seconds. The story is intentionally supposed to explore the world of the gods and their domains and I honestly can't wait to see that type of power displayed on screen with personalities that go deeper than a few jokes. I'm definitely excited for Apollo (not that I'm biased or anything), and also Hades. So that Hades can finally get the recognition he deserves as essentially the savior of the entire first series. And I'm honestly dying to see who will play Nico. Whoever it is, it'll probably feel like they have the weight of the world on them because Nico is such an...how do describe him correctly?....important character that the majority of the fandom really connects with on a deep level. He's almost the closest thing to an original Greek hero in the series because for the longest time, no matter what he did, it seemed like the entire universe was against him.
It would also be epic to see Leo on screen sometime. Leo is on the same level as Nico for me. Again and again, he was let down and became a second thought to everyone.
Basically, if we ever get to Heroes of Olympus, I want lots of Leo and Nico interactions. I feel like their characters could add such a deep layer of emotion and empathy on screen because they're so similar and both SO powerful.
Yesss! They better do Heroes of Olympus (okay..I can’t make them do anything, but I REALLY want it!) because I need my beloved Reyna and Leo. Sure, we get some of Reyna in Circe’s Spa, but not NEARLY enough.
My only worry with a HoO show is that the actors for the original series might look too old for their characters, especially since the second series isn’t over multiple years like the first series, but each season will probably take about a year. Of course, we have a long way to go before that, I don’t think a second season has even been green lit yet, but I can’t imagine they don’t finish the full series, I think it will be super successful

Tv format is great for this story, because as with the myths it’s inspired by, it’s a very episodic story with one random encounter after another. This way they don’t have to force big episode climaxes

@@dawgcat3087 Looks aren't that big of a deal. Really the only characters that would probably do good with altering are Annabeth and Percy. Annabeth with blonde hair would be nice: subverting the whole blonde bimbo stereotype, like in the books. And eye color is kind of a motif, especially with Annabeth and Percy, so that would also add some more stuff to it. Ultimately though, if they bring the characters to life, it really doesn't matter that much.

Percy Jackson isn't blonde he has black hair, annabeth has grey eyes not brown eyes. Wanting characters to be played by actors that actually have a bit of resemblance isnt discrimination. I would be pissed if a black character was played by a white character as well. You sound ridiculous.

As a fan of the Percy Jackson books, I was sorely disappointed with the previous movie adaptation, which strayed far from the source material and failed to capture the heart and soul of the beloved story and characters. However, Rick Riordan's recent statements about the upcoming TV series adaptation have filled me with renewed hope and excitement. His unwavering confidence and excitement for the project, coupled with his track record of predicting issues with the previous adaptation, lead me to believe that this will be the adaptation we have been waiting for. As a fan, I am eagerly anticipating the chance to see my favorite characters brought to life in a faithful and emotionally resonant way.

None of the characters look like they’re described in the books. Didn’t productions used to give descriptors for casting calls? Seeking teenage actors with black hair and green eyes for the role of Percy Jackson, etc.

An Adaption of a Book is always hard, because it’s never how the individual reader has imagined it. I am interested how it turns out
Entertainment Weekly should have included more of Leah's questions. It's very noticeable that all the boys got to talk multiple times and she only got to speak once. How fair is that?

Annabeth being cast as black person. It has nothing to do with race. When you read a book you kinda have to imagine the places & the characters AS THE BOOK DESCRIBES THEM IN GREAT DETAIL. So you form this mental image of them in your head. Most of the Percy Jackson fans have been carrying that image in our head for a decade. So when an adaptation changes that completely it's not acceptable. It's not about race, it's about accuracy & being faithful to the source material. You can't just change that. I'm not even white but I find this an insult to the source material. Why does hollywood ruin everything with identity politics & "diversity & inclusion". Disney & Netflix are notorious for race swapping on purpose just for sake of diversity. If you want diversity why not play characters that are actually black in the source material? Like Miles Morales.
And I hate the Percy Jackson's cast too his hair isn't black. I was so hyped for this adaptation but they killed it before it even had a chance. Sad. I'm sorry but I can't get into a movie/tv show that can't even get it's main characters right
