Hi guys Rob Beeston here. I took the video and would like to say thanks to everyone in the Eltham brigade for supporting me whilst I was working with the brigade. I now live in Ruakaka and spent nearly 6 years with this brigade and my son is a current member. Cheers to all and thanks again
most new Zealand fire service sirens are made by a company called Philips and smith ltd the motor is 3 phase 400v 3 horse power spinning at 2890 rpm some are also made by carrel and carrel ltd
N617A I believe this one is a Castle castings for the small motor. For motor size it is really good at identifying the siren itself so the smallest motor is a Castle castings then the medium is A Gents carter and the biggest is a Gents 2HP Syren
These sirens derive from the British designed Carter, Castle Castings, Gent and to some extent the Klaxon CS-8 sirens manufactured between 1938 and the 1970s to warn of air raids during WWII and during the Cold War to warn of nuclear attack and some CS8s were used to give out Grey Warnings of Fallout in the UK.
They were previously called Castle Castings . And if you're trolling on my comments , not going to get into it with you . Have a nice day Mr . Whoever .
I'll be bloody surprised if that's an original WWII siren. Many of them aren't....several companies still make these sirens, and many Fire Station sin NZ have brand new ones just like this. There is still demand for this type of siren, for all kinds of uses, including civil defence systems and flood/tsunami warning systems.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaŕrrrrrrrŕrŕrrrrnnnnnnrwaaaaaaaaaaaa
Pickup: I m just gonna drive past before the fire service gets in my way.
Fire Truck: Well yes, but actually no.
I think its another volunteer responding because its driving on the wrong side of the road and in the shoulder
@@991Weeman How... did I not notice that...? Looks like you very well may be right. Well, it was fun thinking some moron got cut off while it lasted.
SO 😂
That pick up got told to "Stop and go on the left side of the road."
Nice carter, too
That Mitsi FK 160 (Our left watching video) Is the one our brigade has now Waiwera South

Thanks, that is information i've been looking for for a long time.
Aren't some also old British air raid sirens such as Castle Castings and Carters?
Some of the sirens here are legit Carters
1:22 that truck holly crap!
Great Catch!👍
Perfect timing to catch the siren starting to ring
Why was the pickup that almost crashed driving on the wrong side of the road?
That fire truck took over the car
2 tone vs. single tone - that's one way to tell.
Actually the pick-up was driving on the right side of the road lol. They drive on the left side in New Zealand
same with the U.K. right?
And Japan and Australia and India
As the truck was exiting the station it had a close collision with the oncoming vehicle
Went off like 4 times yesterday and once like 10 Mins ago
The sirens at the fire station went off for 2 minutes and the fire station is across from my school
Pinhead in white truck nearly t-boned the fire truck. Has he got eyes? Most likely texting or on the phone.
bob f the pin head as you put it was a volunteer fire fighter
i heard this yesterday and thought a bomb was about to be dropped
Is that a diaphone on the roof of the fd
THAT IS AWESOME! thats a carter? or a castle castings? sounds like a carter...

SOUNDS LIKE A 3T22 BUT LOWER
Its... 10/12 port...
a big percentage of these sirens are not any older than the 70s the oldest I have repaired was made in 1962

I know that sound
It look like a movie
Hadn't thought of that, but you're probably right.
cool nice job
Old Gents ( Carter - Nelson ) dual tone probably WW II vintage .
Castle Castings
They were previously called Castle Castings . And if you're trolling on my comments , not going to get into it with you . Have a nice day Mr . Whoever .
+Patrick Rogers I'm not trolling, I thought that at the same time you had three siren types:Castle Castings, Gents of Lancashire and Carter of Nelson
The company started out as Gents and then ended up as being Carter Nelson . Basically only one company just owner changes .
Patrick Rogers
Oh right so the names changed? Okay I think ive got this now XD
This siren's from WW2. 1945 newest

It sounds like a 2t22
Castle Castings
it sounds more like a air raid
Y so creepy though
I didn't, even here my self think!
