They didn’t explain the RE3 CodeVeronica ordeal very well, nor did they really explain how RE3 was set b4 & after RE2. But other than that, I’m at RECV right now & so far it’s been awesome. These things are never gonna be as detailed as fans want them to, but it’s still great, & really takes you back. We were are all so enthralled with this story, it makes me wish they would’ve stuck more closely to it, maybe adding some new characters. The way they did things after CodeVeronica was ... different, and cool in its own right, but it just wasn’t the same. RE4 was fantastic, & I liked the way they took the story, but it needed to tie back to umbrella. And I was fine with 4, 5, & 6 being more action oriented, they just needed to stick closely to 2 things, Umbrella in the story, & monsters! For me, the coolest things about RE weren’t zombies. They were great, but it was the variety in monsters! It linked regular old zombies to much bigger & scarier mutations. Whether it was a giant version of a snake or moth or whatever, or something unrecognizable, the different mutations or monsters, gave the game a bit of a sci-fi edge by learning bit by bit how people were turned into those horrific creations, what the different viruses did to different things, & it was awesome. I think if they would’ve had more monsters throughout 4, 5, and 6, & stuck closer to the whole umbrella conspiracy, they would’ve been better off, and wouldn’t have had a need to do what they did with 7. They need to hire the industry’s best for 8, & figure out how to combine & condense the whole story, & give gamers the endings for these characters that they deserve. New stories can always be started after, but we need an ending for at least the 4 main characters & to get a conclusion with the old umbrella big wigs and their early T, G, & C virus research. I’m just spitballing here, I just wanna get back to my characters. Bc while RE7 was cool, it’s really doesn’t advance the story. Not really.

This series stopped making sense after RE3. So IMO only the first 3 original games are canon. Like the RE films, the other RE games are clearly doing their own thing and are only loosely related to the original trilogy.
And the 1st playthru, you took all the good stuff making your 2nd run hell. So what if 1 zombie was shielded by some weird item, got catapulted miles instead of burn crispy. Can't be bothered. You said it wasn't entirely true. My contention is that, if it's a continent, and has a land mass, what I said is ENTIRELY true. I said "Antarctica is a continent, with land". Which is true. It's a fact. No ambiguity. No room for discussion. Fact.
Watching this and then watching more updated Resident Evil biographies, I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that the Resident Evil remake was a failure
I fucking love the dialogue in the original version lol. I grew up with that game, so none of it was really 'that out there' as far as the VAing being bad. We were happy just to have ANY voice acting back then. It's not nearly as cringeworthy as Capcom's infamous voice acting in Mega Man 8/X4. Now THAT is horrible and completely unredeemable haha...
@@swarmX Thank you so very much! Wow, I didn't expect anyone to tell me. I knew it sounded familiar, I've heard this in the past but couldn't quite remember. Thanks once again.
Ruthus Well I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking the next three games are actually very fun. 7 as well but the most hated are 5 and 6 amongst most of the RE community as far as I’ve seen. I don’t think all of the changes are good but it’s not terrible to accept change. Do you also hate 7 because it doesn’t have fixed camera’s?
Ruthus Ah I see. I’m glad I’m wrong, I thought you were nothing but a jaded fanboy who cannot accept change and only hates the games for the perspective being changed. I’m glad I’m wrong, I apologize for presuming what you initially were. Also don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying RE 4, 5, 6, and 7 are perfect games. I’m just saying they are enjoyable game’s to me personally. And that (for better or for worse depending on your perspective) RE4 was the change the game needed. In fact, the original RE4 build called Madman (or Madhouse) is something that I feel sounds more up your alley. As it still retains the fixed camera’s but some hallways/rooms use a third person perspective. I suggest you look into it if you haven’t. You may find yourself pleased. I also love the fixed camera games as well. My favorite of those being 2 even though I don’t like how easy it is, that being said I also like the other games (as stated before) for numerous reasons. All of the games have their advantages and disadvantages. But if you don’t like them, then to each their own. :)
I am a huge fan of the originals and I thought RE 7 was good. I don't find the FP perspective a crime. Even Mikami intended for the original to be in FP, but had to settle for fixed cameras due to the hardware limitations of the times. I also felt like the series needed some sort of reboot. It has a lot of the same core elements of the original, even down exploring a creepy mansion. It was time for a departure of the original story, which has been all but beaten to death at this point, and I thought that it was a pretty good return to form for the survival horror that they had been straying so far from since 04.
Yea seems like he didn't have the hard drive space or compiler to edit together a High Def video for re-upload. Could've been a lot of factors, but at least somebody uploaded it to UA-cam. I wonder if the retrospectives still exist somewhere, I used to watch those things for years and years when they first came out.
I dunno why everyone keeps saying SweetHome is why RE is here... it's ALone in the Dark lol... go look at the 3d alone in the dark game... it's RE... but worse.. haha. It has next to nothing to do with Sweethome, and if they say it does, they're lying. RE is a complete 1:1 clone of alone in the dark almost!

Quincy L Jones I've only played it on my iPhone but from what I hear, it's the only one that's the best out of the franchise. All the other Alone in the Dark games are just awful
40:05... "somewhere on the massive iceberg of Antarctica"... you know that Antarctica is a continent, with land, right ?
Thanks Professor.
Indeed... and using exquisite grammar and spelling.
I wrote that because I couldn't be bothered to argue with you that it's irrelevant how much ice is covering the land mass, it's a continent. It has land.
You're a fool.
Here you go, Sparky. Learn something

you wrote, and I quote: "saying its a continent with land is not entirely true"... when actually, saying it's a continent with land is EXACTLY true.
Can't be bothered. You said it wasn't entirely true. My contention is that, if it's a continent, and has a land mass, what I said is ENTIRELY true. I said "Antarctica is a continent, with land". Which is true. It's a fact. No ambiguity. No room for discussion. Fact.
you need to re-upload this with HD dude
What's the name of that little song that starts playing at the 9:10 mark.
I thinks it's the end credits/staff credits theme in re1
@@anthonyrodriguez2038 I just looked it up and you are right thanks for mentioning it.

Which is official canon? Both scenarios of claire and leon and the original story of the first game?
Watching this and then watching more updated Resident Evil biographies, I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that the Resident Evil remake was a failure
I fucking love the dialogue in the original version lol. I grew up with that game, so none of it was really 'that out there' as far as the VAing being bad. We were happy just to have ANY voice acting back then. It's not nearly as cringeworthy as Capcom's infamous voice acting in Mega Man 8/X4. Now THAT is horrible and completely unredeemable haha...
In RE3 the traitor is Nikolai, not Mikael
You forgot about the Resident Evil 4 Zeebo Port. For shame.
Uncle Derek? Is that you?
What's the name of the soundtrack at 2:09? Where is it from?

45:51 pretty sure 3 = 3.0, but I get what they meant lol
Resident Evil 4 marked when casuals completely stormed the ship with their vicious mutiny and turned the series away from survival horror.
The series needed to go a different direction to revitalize sales. It makes sense purely from a monetary standpoint and the game was great.
Ruthus considering that the series was selling poorly, it needed Resident Evil 4 or else we wouldn’t have gotten anymore RE games, good or bad.
The video quality is actually much worse than the ones actually posted by gametrailers.
God what did youtube do to this
The house of residing evil
Video Quality: Floor Model T.V. P
55:15 This is the worst compression i've ever seen
WHAT? What is this?
