TLOK didn't retcon the idea of the sky bisons being the first airbenders. Badgermols, dragons and sky bisons already posessed that ability and was not given. Their part in this was that they teached the humans how to bend it, just like wan with that dragon. Lion Turtles gave the ability to humans to bend it, so there's a difference.
In regards to the Original Benders, and the Lion Turtles 'ret con', the way a lot of us view it is this. The Lion Turtles knew Energy Bending, which allowed them to give people the 'Power of the Element'. However, this is not the same as 'bending'. For example Avatar Wan, was given the Power of the Element: Fire from the Lion Turtle, but he learned how to properly 'bend' the element from the dragons while living in the spirit wilds. Even the hunters that had come out to fight him from the Lion Turtle City, commented that 'he wields the power of fire differently to how they do, as an extension of himself'. I believe the ability to bend, is akin to using the element as an extension of one's self. So the Lion Turtles could create people with the ability to wield the element, but to master properly bending an element, would be learned from the Original Benders (dragons, badger moles, sky bison, & the moon).
100%, Can go off of what Toph said in ATLA as well, The moles didn't GIVE her bending she just learned to use it from them, because they were in the same position as her.
To sum it up, having the Element does not = being a genuine bender. Just look at the random Earth Kingdom citizens who got Air after harmonic convergence - they can move air, but they are hardly airbenders, uncontrolled and undisciplined. The Lion Turtles gave people fists; the OG benders (the badger moles, dragons, bison, and moon) showed people how to box.
To further indicate that bending is more than just simply having the power, in episode 1 of ATLA, Katara asserts that she's not a waterbender "yet", just as Aang says he's not a firebender yet during the Sun Warrior episode. Even though the show uses the term "bender" to often refer to those with the power, it's evidently more of a convenience in the terminology, as it's easier to understand and say in a sentence.
Ohhhhhh, so THAT'S why we’ve never seen the Moon in the sky during the day, it's been coming down to earth so it could teach water bending!!! I knew those amazing martial moves looked familiar!!! 😂😂😂
Lion turtles gave the energy, but as shown in the avatar Wan episodes. When they were given fire, all they knew what to do with it was just throw it around wildly. When Wan was in the wilds, the dragon showed him how to make it a part of himself and to control it. When he came across those other guys again they even said "the way he controlled fire was like they never seen before" So they more off combined the two sides of it. Which also makes sense how the lion turtle showed Aang how to block the bending energy.
Yah thats a retcon. Fire breathing comes from the breath, like dragons. Like how they taught. Cuz they the original firebenders. Like from episode 1 of atla lol Where the fuck you guys get ur ideas from? Lol
Damn! Imagine being an Air Acolyte. You’ve been studying airbending and serves in the air temples your whole life then suddenly you can airbend. I get why Otaku was very excited answering those questions. Lol
The animals were the original benders, but could not pass the power to humans, only be a source of learning once a human got the power. Lion turtles are the only being capable of giving away power, but even with Wan, they just let another being teach the human how to use it
ability and education is different thing. First air benders might have taken that power from air turtles but still they trained themselves with that power by observing Air bisons
20:35 original benders are the forces itself. Dragons, air bisons, badgermole and the moon. The GLTs are energy benders capable of giving and taking away the elemental forces.
The animals taught benders bending as a martial art. The lion turtles gave the humans the ability to bend. Bending in the franchise is used to reference the ability to bed and the martial art of bending, but they are not the same thing.
While it was the dragon turtles that gave Avatar Wan the ability to bend, it was animals that taught him how to do it properly. A number of humans could fire bend, but it was treated as a basic point-and-shoot ability until he learned how to properly bend from the dragons. We can assume that off-screen he learned how to properly air bend from the air bison and earth bend from the badger moles.
The lion turtles gifted the ability to control the elements but the three animals and the moon were the original creators for the techniques used in bending.
The lion turtles gave the people bending, but the original benders thought the people how to master bending, like wan learning fire bending from a dragon, the lion turtles just bend energy, like aang did to ozai
So using Toph as an example and also when Aang and Zuko trained with the Sun Warriors, the animals/moon taught people techniques to bend which is why Toph was the only one who could sense vibrations but she already knew to earth bend. Same with the dragons, the dragon dance was a technique but you have to already have firebending. The moon same thing a technique to push and pull the waters. If you remember from Wan’s story there were no animals really, just Human towns and Spirits so chances are the animals were already out there bending and doing their thing. Hope that clarifies!
Remember how when wan spent time in the wilds he became a bender. The turtles gifted the elements. The source taught the bending. Wans fellow citizens were basically using fire like a super mario flower. The dragon taught him how to dance with the flames. I dont see it as a retcon fully.
(in a film, television series, or other fictional work) a piece of new information that imposes a different interpretation on previously described events, typically used to facilitate a dramatic plot shift or account for an inconsistency. Literally the definition of a retcon. But with korra, they imposed the inconsistency with their retcon, not fixed one.
The IDEA that dragons, badgermoles, moon, and sky bison, were the original benders and taught humans how to better wield the elements, is established in atla. In korra they change that IDEA to it was actually lion turtles and the animals just showed them to dance better with it. Literally a retcon. You can enjoy it, as lame as it is, you are allowed. Retcons arent inherently bad, but this one is. And ppl like the show, assume retcons are bad, they hear this show retcons, means they did a bad, but you like the show, so how can it do a bad?!?!?! Soooo u gotta do mental gymnastics to justify your fandom lol instead of admitting the show isnt that good and did a bad job with alot of this crap.
@@michaelgarrett139 being gifted fire and being taught to harness it are simply different. If thats a retcon it is on the loosest of definitions. I dont see it as a contradiction to anything in the story. The gifters are not the ones who taught bending. Maybe they used a phrasing in the original that says different. But im quite sure they refer to the moon or air bisons as "the first benders." Meaning they learned from them. Idt the turles ever taught then fk all
@@michaelgarrett139 yeah but that doesnt mean the first benders were the ones who gifted them that ability. Its closer to a clarification. Also yes dance better. Thats not very far off from what martial arts are when training. Thanks. Good job.
Lion turtled gave human the potential, the animals have them the technique. Hence no matter how long you hang around a sky bison or dragon, if you're a non bender nothing will happen
they didn't retcon the stuff about dragons and sky bisons, in the last airbenders they said that dragons, sky bison's, badger moles and the moon were the original master's/teachers not the source of bending
that's why they showed wan learning the dancing dragon fighting techniques. when they say they learnt form from the badger mole, bison , ocean and moon spirit and dragon, they learnt form and techniques because before they used the power like blasts , but then wan always beat them because he used fire as an extension of himself which is something the humans weren't taught when they were given fire
the way i saw the stuff with the sky bisons being the original airbenders was that they were just natural airbenders that didnt need to have it given to them by a lion turtle. So back back back in the day before the humans lived on the lion turtles backs, the sky bison were already flying around airbending.
The whole "airbending to keep temperature" is a great detail when you notice that in ATLA, Aang never dressed to warm himself up, even when at the North or South poles, he always dressed up with his monk clothes.
Another thought about the origin of bending - as a history enthusiast, I learned that a lot of the times the stories and myths that are passed through generations may reflect parts of the truth but not all of it. More than anything else these stories reflect the people who told them, rather than plain historical documentation. There are about 10,000 years between the times of Wan and Aang, plenty of time for the Lion Turtles' role in the whole ordeal to be forgotten (like, what do WE know of humanity 10,000 years ago?)

Original doesn’t mean where they how people got bending. Original Benders are basically parts of nature that the people mimicked. Naturally Bison - Air, Dragons have fire, Moon pushed and pulled the water, and Moles dig through the earth. People were given bending from the lion turtles. That changes noting, the original benders are still the Animals n the moon are still the original benders. Even in the flash back with Won, he was given fire and he danced with the dragon. Just cus we get additions info or clarify doesn’t retcon anything. Earth benders can still copy the badger moles and learn how to earth bend, if you are not a bender, you cant copy anything and become a bender.
Kai and jinora are the first airbenders who fell in love with each other after 181 years. Which makes their relationship 100 times cuter and special🌬️❤️
i never thought of that 😭 makes me wonder actually . in the old days airbenders were the one nation where every member was born able to bend, because they were so spiritually oriented. i wonder if the new airbenders will be the same if they marry each other (air an inherently more spiritual element so they will grow into the connection as they learn) or if that part was more securely rooted in the air nomad culture
@@GoldenQ9because this show respects the viewers, and eventually someone will make a connection making the show more special. Its why i love rewatching it
The lion turtle thing is kinda weird , some people explain it as when the lion turtles give bending it was more like a tool you can throw not a form or "way" . This is backed up by avatar wan learning the dragon dance from a dragon becoming the first firebender and the other people from his village regarding that as different to what they can do.
Airbenders can heat themselves through breathing, this explains a lot about why aang was able to hang out in the north and south pole without freezing or wearing warmer clothes.
3:04 - consider when we first met Zaheer, he was at the end of his 13 year stay in prison, likely not getting much in the way of nutritious food. Now that he's free to eat as he pleases, he would likely fill out a bit. Whether this was an intentional design choice or not, it would certainly explain why he looks so different to you
Its not necessarily clearly explained how Zaheer is so good at airbending right away, but we do see that he knows a lot about important airbender gurus & seems to have a genuine appreciation for the culture. I think he probably had studied airbending already despite not actually being able to yet just to learn more about airbender ways.
A relatively popular fan theory is that he used to be an Air Acolyte, perhaps while Aang was still alive. There are some interesting indications both for and against this idea though.
The lion turtles gave people their bending but the benders learn how to MASTER it through watching the animals or inthe water benders case the moon bending the ocean
20:30 The best explanation I have heard is the following. Yes, the Lion turtles unlocked their ability to bend, and gifted them the ability, but they never taught the people how to do it. We had benders of all sorts who can wield their power, but they used it as something unnatural and outside of themselves. The original masters taught the people how to truly harness their element. Through them the element stopped being an uncomfortable tool and started being an extension of who they were. Touph is an amazing earthbender, not simply because she is powerful, but because to her the Earth was as much a part of her as her own limbs. If you think about it this way, then it isn't exactly a retcon.
For the origins of bending, the lion turtles are the first energy benders. They could give and take bending from any being. Dragons, Badger Moles, Air Bison, and (insert waterbending creature here) were the first benders, and the lion turtles took the bending from them and gave it to humans.
Dragons, badgermols, sky bisons are natural benders, humans who could bend learned to master their own bending through the original benders, like Toph who was trained by a badgermol, the lion turtles merely made possible for humans to possess the ability to bend. Nice reaction!! now I have a question for anyone, do you remember that serpent that was shooting water in ATLA, was that a bit of waterbending?
Lion turtles give the power of the element. Wan learns how to bend the fire by the white dragon in one of the scenes. Throwback to when Tophs talks about learning from the badger moles because they are the Original earth Benders. key word : benders 😊 they used earth as an extension of themselves because they were blind. It helped them get around much like dragons using fire and sky bisons using air bending to fly
I think with original airbending what it was is that humans got the ability to bend from Lion-Turtles but then the Lion-Turtles left humans so nobody even remembered about them so I think the bending they gave didn't get passed on as such, but rather the potential to bend became a genetic thing but the ability had to be rediscovered and that happened from the animals. I think there were benders but they had very little ability until they watched the animals and learned the secrets. So in a sense, both things were true. After all, not everyone can learn to bend - you have to have the potential. So to be a bender, you need to have descended for someone the Lion-Turtles gave the ability to, but to be good at it you need training and the various "Original benders" are where humans got that knowledge to know how to use the ability.
The lion turtles bestowed the bending powers on humans. But if you recall, after Wan went into the spirit wiles he honed his firebending by training w/ the dragon, “one of the original benders”…. So lion turtle give the talent, and the original/master benders (dragons, bisons, moon, & badger moles) held the humans to hone the bending by really showing them what all the bending can do.
Giving powers ≠ having it naturally The badgers and bisons are the first natural benders that evolved and learn from the earth around them. The lion turtles possess the energy and spirit and ability to just bestow the powers without the person or thing needing to learn it naturally
Filling in some info. In the comics after the show, there were people who idolized the airbending culture or rather aang himself. They were fans. Anng turned this fanclub into the Air Acolytes. Air Acolytes are Nonbenders that value the air nomadic lifestyle and devote their life to being back and preserving the airbending culture although they are not air nomads themselves (so still a fanclub but better)
Bending is basically using the given element and using it as an extension of the body. So yes the turtles give the humans the element power but it was the animals who thaught the people how to use the element effectively.
The oasis spirit (Wan's friend) called them fire tossers because they were untaught. The lion turtles gave humans the ability to bend, but without learning from the original animal benders they are just 'able to' its not really considered 'bending' because its so unrefined and shallow.
I get what you’re saying about the retcon, but think about it in this way: yes, the lion turtles are the ones who give humans the ability to bend the elements. But the sky bison, dragons, badger moles etc are essentially like the personifications of their respective elements. So although the lion turtles give humans the power, the other animals are the ones that gave them the concept of “mastering” it. Kinda looking back to book 1 of Last Airbender, when Yue told the story of how waterbenders saw how the moon pushed and pulled the tides and learned how to do it themselves. So lion turtles just give humans the power, they don’t give them any type of learning or ideals behind it.
Lion Turtles only lend humans the ability to element bend temporarily. Remember that when the first Avatar Wan separated the physical world and spiritual world, the lion turtle said humans are now ready to live in this dawning new age on their own and doesn't need their protection anymore (having them looked after, by letting them live on their back and lend bending powers when they go outside). After the separation, they took away the bending. But other spirits also already have the ability of elements. That's where the succeeding humans learnt bending. So it is infact correct that those can be considered the source of bending from then on. And in time, the history of first Avatar and lion turtles have been forgotten and it isn't unlikely at all, it happens irl across history that predates earliest civilizations.
I took it to mean that the lion turtles gave the power of the elements to humans, but the humans learned how to control that power from the bison, moon, badgers moles, and dragons since those creatures interacted with their elements as if they were an extension of themselves. Kinda like how Wan learned the dancing dragon form from an actual dragon
I think of the lion turtle giving the literal bending power, whereas the bison, badgermoles, and dragons as the first teacher of bending in balance with nature, it's true form.
We do see Avatar Wan, learning to improve his firebending from the Dragons the same way Aang & Zuko, do. So, this supports the idea that the Lion-Turtles, gave it to the animals first:)
I think its pretty simple, the primal animal benders were benders of their element, its innately theirs while humans gained their ability to bend from the lion turtles. They’re different and they are both valid in the same timeline. Ones a natural order, ones an acquired ability.
Spartan asking for Zahir vs Tenzin gives me a smile! Tenzin is a master truly a master, but Zahir is pragmatic and he's a different kind of master who just needs to let go of any "earthly desires"... Im betting on an huge change villain preferences from Spartan :) with episode 12 being the cherry on the top of the cake!... Zahir thruly philosophical driven relentlessness in achieving what he thinks is the right way, puts im on another and above level in the Avatar pantheon of antagonistic characters that elevate the show... and from a certain point of view he's right!... Like all other Korra's antagonists before him! Their problem is the extrem mesures and the way to achieve them that removes balance to their decisions! End goals are not above the way to get them... Althought that is, of course, morality and normalized ethics of the group that are always related to values and their factores of influence.
the idea is that the lion turtles are powerful being able to bend other’s energy and therefore giving and taking away bending. i guess that after their era, those that had bending could pass it down through genetics. the animals however, certain species have always had their specific bending, and humans that were given the power were able to learn by watching them. they would have had the power regardless, but not possessed the style and ability in the actual related martial art: just like it was evident in the difference between the first avatar’s firebending (which he learned watching the dragons and through moves like the dancing dragon) and the rest of the villagers to whom the element was given, but they just threw it around without knowing better.
how i understood it was that the lion turtles gave people bending but the animals taught them the skill of bending like how won trained with the dragon and they said he uses the fire different. he uses it better because he learned from the dragon
The lion turtles granted the ability to bend the elements. The Dragons, Badger Moles, Sky Bisons and the Moon Spirit are the first to develop martial arts to bend.
Can’t wait for the rest of this season! From episode 8 till 13 it’s just non stop getting better and better all leading towards an amazing season finale.
The lionturtles gave bending to humans as a gift... Bisons were just born with the ability to fly from the start. So that makes them the 'original' airbenders, since they could do that before humans. A lionturtle didn't give the ability to breathe fire to dragons, it's just part of being a dragon. Badger moles didn't learn to dig and feel vibrations in the ground from a lion turtle. You can even see Wan dancing with a dragon in the flashback, so he was learning more about firebending from the original master - in the sense that nature and animals are masters of certain things [edit: and we can always learn more about ourselves by paying attention to things in nature]. Make sense?
18:39 I always love this moment... it reminds me a teeny tiny bit of Aang's fury when Appa is stolen... That poacher is lucky Kai could only bend one element
They didn’t retcon the origins of bending. The lion turtles gave bending through energy bending, we saw the dragons as the original fire benders and badger moles as the first earth benders meanwhile, the coy fish moon gods gave water benders their ability during ATLA. The lion turtle also taught Aang how to energy bend. Now we see the flying bison as air benders. Another great reaction; we are nearing the end of book three so let’s go.
Been a while since I was this early. Some character development with Jinora, Kai, Tenzen and Bumi. Seeing the progress with all of the airbenders was much appreciated, and to top it off, baby Bison!💙
People didn't listen. Not once in the "Begginings" it was called bending. They only refer to it as power of the element. Wan had the power of fire but only after he trained with the dragon he learned bending . Even those ruffians said it " it was nothing like we seen before, he uses fire like extension of himself" because Wan was bending.
I like that Meelo started out as a joke charachter but he's actually become pretty adept in combat and given the tiny amount of airbenders there are he's in the world is probably in the top 10, maybe top 5, even as a dumb little kid.
sky bison, moon&ocean, dragon and badgermole are the original benders... the ability to bend was given to people by the lion turtles yes but bending skills come from the original benders.
The lion turtles gave humans the ability to control the elements which isn't necessarily the same as bending for example the scene when wan fought against the hunters after he learned how to bend from the dragon it was completely different from how they used their bending.... Dragons badger moles and air bisons used bending as away of life not to fight which is what humans learned from them which is why I say the lion turtles didn't give humans the traditional way of bending but instead simply gave people power to control the elements but later dragons bisons and badger moles taught them how to bend the elements
I think in this universe animals are the original benders and the lion turtles learned how to give specific elements to others. I don’t think it’s really known how they got this ability or where they even came from.
The animals were the original "benders" of their elements, but humans didn't inherit the actual abilities from them. They simply learned the different styles from them.
It’s a tough one to take on the think the bisons born with the air, bending ability, same as the line turtle so technically I guess the bisons and the lion turtle are the first
The Queen ate BOSCO!!, I don't care who the main villians are in this book, she is the ultimate villian, how dare she?!! Disrespectful vermin of a woman. That is foul!!
its still possible for Air Bisons, Dragons and Badger Moles to exist long before the Lion Turtles gave bending abilities to humans. But i dont think the Lion Turtles gave abilities to these animals, they just had it
stop reading the garbage comments of people who never understood the lion turtles and didn't pay attention. the creators have been wanting to tell the story of the first avatar since AtLA but couldn't find a way to make it work. Lion Turtles gave power to humans (think like giving them a sword), and just like Wan he mentioned the others were just "fire tossers" not controlling the element. Wan has a scene where he does the dragon dance and gets taught how to properly firebend from its source. there is no retcon ffs
@@Crazy-pl1lo I think I'll trust the creators than some rando who doesn't understand what "couldn't make it work" means (i.e - couldn't fit it into the storyboards or make room for it to make sense with Aang's journey)
There’s a difference between how people got their element (lions) and how they learned how to bend. (Bison, moon, dragons, moles) the humans needed to have the power of the element before they could bend in the first place. If you rewatch that episode wan didn’t know how to use his fire power effectively. It took him studying the dragons to be able to “Bend” effectively. The original water benders probably just threw balls of water around. It wasn’t until the noticed how the moon pushed and pulled the tides that they learned how to create water spouts, massive waves, and water whips. If you pay attention we’ve seen both appa and that mother flying bison both have the ability to airbend. Flying and using their tails to create gusts of wind. People are struggling separating how people got their power, and how they learned to utilize it (Bending)
the lion turtles gave humans the ability to bend but the dragons, moon, etc teached how. like you are born able to punch but you learn how to punch later in life by others
You're not wrong about that lore logic but I also like to say to look at it from a history point of view. Not too many people even know the story of the original Avatar or the world before spirit world was sealed. So maybe it's one of those "they say the original benders.... (insert animal here)."
I kind of assumed the various animals started teaching bending after the lion turtles left/went into hiding, since most people don't know the history of the world as far back as the time of lion turtles, idk why people would be annoyed by that lol
The "Original Benders lore was retconned" complaint is stupid. It doesn't make sense in ATLA that humanity learned bending from the OG Benders, and were able to pass it from parent to child at birth, unless there's something OTHER than learning bending from the OG benders. Did Toph NOT have Earthbending before she met the Badger moles? Why didn't other Southern Water Tribe members just LEARN Waterbending from the Ocean and Moon instead of leaving Katara as the last bender? Why didn't Sokka just learn Airbending from Appa during the series if he felt useless? Why did Energybending remove Ozai's bending instead of Aang like, editing Ozai's memories of learning Firebending? Answers: Of course she did. Because there's something else at play. Because he physically could not. Because bending isn't just something you learn. 100% compliant with the Wan Flashback.
The lion turtles were like gods and they give bending to humans who did not have bending originally. The animals on the other hand were natural benders. U should read the comics u will get more insight in this concept.
Don't take the idea of the animals being the 'original masters' too literally, it just means they are symbolic of the elements and seeing a dragon breathe fire, or a bison flying, was probably inspiring to any benders who saw it. The animals weren't out there deliberately teaching all the cultures or anything, they are still animals in the wild. Like, I would say birds were the original masters of flight, before we created certain technology - that's a real world equivalent of what they are saying in the ATLA universe.
anime type art can be hard to recognise people - that's why traditionally you get things like really extreme hair that you can recognise. In this case, they were intentionally trying to make him hard to recognise quickly, so they hide his features with all that hair and beard.
20:30 I'm pretty sure history just got muddled along the way. For a story that is centuries old it is unlikely that it was kept the same over time. That's how I view it atleast
This episode was hilarious and wholesome at the same time. Class clown Bumi is the BEST!

@SpartanandPudgey the breathing technique to control your body temperature is called “Tummo”. just in case you're really interested in learning it

*taught .....but yeah great explanation
Taught*
@@tumitoons7402 Thanks for correcting. I just immidiately posted my comment without reading it again 😅
Holding a sword doesn't make you a swordsman. Throwing fire doesn't make you a bender.
100% correct
@@GeneralShowHDeveryone who is blood ridden on saying this is a retcon, forget this. This is ALWAYS what the writers intended.
When he came across those other guys again they even said "the way he controlled fire was like they never seen before"
So they more off combined the two sides of it.
Which also makes sense how the lion turtle showed Aang how to block the bending energy.
Yah thats a retcon.
Fire breathing comes from the breath, like dragons. Like how they taught. Cuz they the original firebenders. Like from episode 1 of atla lol
Where the fuck you guys get ur ideas from? Lol
How does that work? Did the lion turtles give those animal species and the moon the bending ability? And only them? Why? When?
Lol silly korra fans
Bullshit
The next 6 episodes will be fire! But this one was a good episode for the development of Tenzin, Jinora and the rest of the airbenders.
that's why they showed wan learning the dancing dragon fighting techniques. when they say they learnt form from the badger mole, bison , ocean and moon spirit and dragon, they learnt form and techniques because before they used the power like blasts , but then wan always beat them because he used fire as an extension of himself which is something the humans weren't taught when they were given fire
the way i saw the stuff with the sky bisons being the original airbenders was that they were just natural airbenders that didnt need to have it given to them by a lion turtle.
RIP BOSCO 🐻
I knew back then that this was just a show, but I didn't think I'd feel so much anger over a fictional bear's fate before.
Bosco nooooo
Another thought about the origin of bending - as a history enthusiast, I learned that a lot of the times the stories and myths that are passed through generations may reflect parts of the truth but not all of it. More than anything else these stories reflect the people who told them, rather than plain historical documentation.
There are about 10,000 years between the times of Wan and Aang, plenty of time for the Lion Turtles' role in the whole ordeal to be forgotten (like, what do WE know of humanity 10,000 years ago?)
I believe that the Lion Turtles gave people their bendings, but it was the originals benders that taught them how to use them.

IMPORTANT MOD MESSAGE SPECIFIC TO LEGEND OF KORRA- READ BEFORE POSTING:
****************************************************************************
If you want to say you dislike or like it WITHOUT going into specific details that's fine, but traditional spoiler rules apply for LoK. We must maintain BLIND reactions and opinions for the Legend of Korra content, just as we did with ATLA. That is what people are paying and watching these for.
We are well aware of the heavy debate about these two shows. Please keep the ATLA vs TLOK debate and controversies to our community LoK discord channel AND ONLY THAT CHANNEL. We want those paying for Korra reactions to have an enjoyable time within the community and throughout this experience, and not have to sift through a bunch of hostile and aggressive debating or attacking the show. It just ruins the vibe and the fun, and if enough of it occurs it can also color S&P's reactions and cause them to be less natural, the very thing we are here for.
Thank You !!
Which makes their relationship 100 times cuter and special🌬️❤️
i never thought of that 😭
makes me wonder actually . in the old days airbenders were the one nation where every member was born able to bend, because they were so spiritually oriented. i wonder if the new airbenders will be the same if they marry each other (air an inherently more spiritual element so they will grow into the connection as they learn) or if that part was more securely rooted in the air nomad culture
Idk how i never noticed this 😂
@@GoldenQ9because this show respects the viewers, and eventually someone will make a connection making the show more special.
Exactly. Lion turtles gave them the element, but the animals gave them the technique.
Then how did the animals get bending? And why
Whether this was an intentional design choice or not, it would certainly explain why he looks so different to you
Thats a good point
Its not necessarily clearly explained how Zaheer is so good at airbending right away, but we do see that he knows a lot about important airbender gurus & seems to have a genuine appreciation for the culture. I think he probably had studied airbending already despite not actually being able to yet just to learn more about airbender ways.
A relatively popular fan theory is that he used to be an Air Acolyte, perhaps while Aang was still alive. There are some interesting indications both for and against this idea though.
@@tar-mairoand since he was meant to teach it, he had to learn it
Ikki n Jinora look totally different to me lol also Jinora has brown eyes n Ikki has silver/grey
They also have different voices n hairstyles.
One thing about Amon, he slightly bended against a lot of people he'd slightly move your hands to make his dodges look even more godly
Giving powers ≠ having it naturally
The badgers and bisons are the first natural benders that evolved and learn from the earth around them.
I get what you’re saying about the retcon, but think about it in this way:
yes, the lion turtles are the ones who give humans the ability to bend the elements.
Not only animals though, because the original water bender is the moon. Teaching waterbenders the push and pull technique
18:39 Never get between an airbender and a bison!
Think about what the Lion turtle said to Aang. "In the era before the Avatar, we bent not the elements, but the energy within ourselves" - Lion Turtle
Nearly every comment is explaining the original benders and lion turtles. Like no one checked to see if someone else explained already.
Right lol plus they release the reaction on patreon a week or so early where it’s been explained there too lol
Milo gonna be a monster when he gets older 😂
By book 4, he became one of my favorite characters.
Yeah my thought was dragons were the first ones to get firebending. Bison first airbending. Badger moles earth bending, etc etc.
sky bison, moon&ocean, dragon and badgermole are the original benders...
the ability to bend was given to people by the lion turtles yes but bending skills come from the original benders.
20:11, the airbender tats go in the same place on every person.
its still possible for Air Bisons, Dragons and Badger Moles to exist long before the Lion Turtles gave bending abilities to humans.
Definitely is a ret con 😂 just because they couldn’t make it work them doesn’t mean it works any better now so
@@Crazy-pl1lo I think I'll trust the creators than some rando who doesn't understand what "couldn't make it work" means (i.e - couldn't fit it into the storyboards or make room for it to make sense with Aang's journey)
He believes he is fighting for a just cause
16:43 Aang will be proud of them 🥲, we are looking at the birth of a nation
Spartan & Pudgey Awesome Video/Episode Today!!🔥🐐🐐🙏
Yes "blood bending is OP" only within a society.
Next ep is NUKE level bending🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
17:41 they actually showed us this in season 1 but yeah now they showed why n explained.
love this series sm
This episode was really nice, like a break from Korra but also had interesting points. Plus the world building with our airbenders.
Appa's species is extinct, he was a Sky Bison which were highly domesticated, these are Air Bison
next few episodes boutta be straight heat!!!
The animals already had the ability.
Zahear was in prison so that is why he was so skinny when he got out he got buff
The rest of the team have the same motivation as zaherr
anime type art can be hard to recognise people - that's why traditionally you get things like really extreme hair that you can recognise. In this case, they were intentionally trying to make him hard to recognise quickly, so they hide his features with all that hair and beard.
It was a very good backstory
I don't know which city you're in but man how is Pudgey wearing that. It's hot af here in Perth. Had to put the air con on just looking at it
hey guys fyi subtitles might ruin a surprise in the future in case you're watching with subs that is
20:30 I'm pretty sure history just got muddled along the way. For a story that is centuries old it is unlikely that it was kept the same over time. That's how I view it atleast
They have recruited more than two the prisoners are airbenders in training
