Really enjoying your river/lock adventures. My wife and I moved our 30 ft SeaRay back from Rochester, NY to NJ via the Erie Barge Canal. The weekend before the main trip we went from the Genese River to Buffalo on Lake Ontario and locked back to Rochester on the canal. The following weekend we started our trip from Rochester to Haverstraw NY navigating the balance of the Erie Barge to the Hudson River. In all we locked through some 38 locks and traveled 315 miles via water. Great trip. At another time we traveled back up the Hudson to the Champlain Canal and locked through its entirety to Lake Champlain and went up to the Canadian border. Love reliving these adventures through your experiences. Always love your shows.
Well, you two corn-fed Iowa boys have surely impressed this ol' Gulf Coast Rebel. You not only have exactly the right rig for the Mississippi, you also have the savvy to learn the river and its ways, before you haul-arse wide open and wreck something. I am sincerely impressed........ Thank you so much for sharing this experience and teaching so much along the way.
Awesome trip! It seemed odd to see the Mississippi so calm on the surface and then if you looked at the water swirling you know she means business. Saw on the other Starcraft Vid that you dinged your prop on the wing dam. Happens to the best of us! hahaha
Apparently you have good fortune on the Big Muddy ! One thing on my bucket list is to travel down the Sippi from home ( ANOKA, Mn to New Orleans , La ) on my 23’ Cuddy ! And up to the St. Lawrence sea way through the Great Lakes to Duluth , Mn , they call it THE SUPER CIRCLE !
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina are you doing the iron butt or take your time type of trip to New Orleans ? Myself it’s the take your time type with camping on the River ( islands or city parks ) and I figured it’s about 7 day trip !
You can run with leg partially raised in shallow water and I am betting you are already aware of that!! Great that you have that river nearby for great boating options!!! CHEERS from Canadian viewer!
What type radio are you using to contact the lock master? We used to fish at lock 13 back when I was a kid. I have relatives the live in both Clinton and Camanche. I would love to tag along with you one day on my boat. Looks like a very good time just tooling up and down the Mighty Miss!!!
