You have a gorgeous looking coach there guys! I bought my '77 Palm Beach in March 2021 (sight unseen), just on the strength of two photos and she didn't look half as nice as yours! I mounted 7 new tires on her and drove her 250 miles home through the mountains at night in the rain -luckily without incident. The engine and drive train on mine were OK but all the systems, fridge, furnace, etc were out of commission as well as she was leaking like a sieve! The coach had been vinyl wrapped and the guy that did the wrap covered up all the drains with vinyl - took the vinyl off the drains and she leaked no more! Spent 3 months getting the systems all working and spent the next 3 months having a great time going camping in the backcountry. Love the GMC!
That sounds like you had an adventure getting your ‘77 home! We’re also about to do a few months of work to get our Trixie ready to travel. I know it will be time well spent! We have to reseal the entire roof because it’s got some leaks, and the windows need resealing as well. Thanks for watching and telling us your story! I love the community of GMC RVers!
Thank you! We love her! I’m so glad ours was renovated. We have the before pictures of the original interior and it was very very 70s. Lots of brown and orange!
Thanks for saving another GMC Motorhome. Good Luck with your new project. Look forward to more updates. I have a 78 Royale. Once you work out all the bugs, their super reliable.
Thanks so much for watching! We are enjoying owning and working on her so much. We’re repairing an exhaust leak this week. We are very excited to take her on the road! Enjoy your Royale!
Chris here. I thought the same thing because it definitely whines when you turn the steering wheel, and seems like low power steering fluid I’ve had on other vehicles. But… the fluid is full 😬. Which means I have lots of fun troubleshooting ahead.
Hi, Jason! Thank you so much! We do still have her! My husband has been working on fixing the exhaust leak. I’m going to upload a detailed tour of the interior soon! Do you have one of these as well?
It was a little over 100 miles and it was $700. We recommend calling around for different prices because another company quoted us $1500 for the same tow. We’ve heard that Landoll is the best kind of truck to move it and that’s what we used in the video.
one of the biggest issue is that there is miles of rubber fuel hose on these coaches,i wouldnt doubt that your biggest issue is that you have fuel hoses that are sucking air because they deteriorate from the inside out. the ones on top of the tanks are always bad
Chris here. We actually had that exact issue where the line comes into the fuel pump and makes a sharp turn it had a crack and was sucking in air. Right now we’re thinking it’s rust or other debris in the fuel tank. We’re working through a list of TODOs but that will be next!
Chris here. For sure! It’s on the list. Luckily it doesn’t seem too bad. I’ve been underneath it and the access is good. We’re going to drop the tanks eventually and evaluate whether they can be cleaned and saved or need to be replaced with aluminum ones from the GMC co-op.
Chris here. Guilty as charged. This is the first carbureted vehicle with more than two wheels I’ve owned. Lots of motorcycles and a throttle body injected car. Should be fun!
Lotsa info out there to set this very nice looking GMC Coach. Best fortune
Thank you for watching!
So enjoy this GMC videos. Anymore updates?
Love it... any updates?
Thanks for watching, Tim! No updates yet! We’ve done a little work but then had some delays. We’re about to be able to work on her more consistently.
Did you ever get it running?
She’s close! We haven’t had a lot of time to work on her, but slowly she’s coming along.
@@TheWildClassroom thats great to hear. Best of luck!
That's a beautiful gmc.
Thanks! We love her! Do you have a motorhome as well?
@@TheWildClassroom 1976 Airstream Argosy 24 ft.
Wow! We love airstreams as well!

@@TheWildClassroom If you do the roof seams get some ETERNABOND tape, buy the 4" and slit it into 2" wide ...spendy but the very best! Good luck!
Thank you for the tip!
What make and model is the Motor home that shows at: 15:24?
That GMC is sweet! I have a 1973 23ft same color. It's been updated.

Nice coach! Welcome to the crazy club LOL
Thanks! We are glad to be here!
The whining sound maybe the power steering pump is low on fluid.
Thank you, Bruce! We’ll get her some fluid ASAP! Have you worked on one of these before?
@@TheWildClassroom I have 1977 Ex-Palm Beach model model since 2008. So I have some experience with them :)

@@TheWildClassroom A mechanics stethoscope should help troubleshoot the issue. Could be an internal issue with the PS pump.
Beautiful looking GMC Motorhome. Do you still have it? Have you done anything with it since this video was posted?

@@TheWildClassroom No, I don't. I wish. I'd buy one if I had someone to share the experience and responsibilities with.
That poor power steering pump put some fluid in it please
The weird thing is that the power steering fluid was full!
Maybe the PS pump is going out? I did notice the windshield wipers moving slow sticking?
Wondering about the tow truck. How far did you haul it and what was the cost? Where did you find the tow company?
It was a little over 100 miles and it was $700. We recommend calling around for different prices because another company quoted us $1500 for the same tow. We’ve heard that Landoll is the best kind of truck to move it and that’s what we used in the video.
Quoted 1500$ plus....
Did a AAA rv coverage upgrade...
101 miles....40$......
On a flat bed... Thanks.. AAA....

Always fuel supply issues
We are hoping to replace the fuel tanks with aluminum ones soon!
That motorhome has over 50 feet of fuel line! Because of alcohol in modern fuel you’ll need to replace all of it!
