Hi Pat! Thanks for tagging me, which I missed until your comment today. :) I've been working on a volunteer project and lost track of booktube for a couple of weeks! Toni Morrison is such a fantastic writer, as are the others you mentioned.
Hi Sonya. I just never know if people are notified when I tag them. I certainly thought of you right away as a Phenomenal Woman! Hope you are doing well....😊
Thanks for tagging me! Now that I've finally finished my WIP, at over a million words in the first draft, I have more time to make videos. I'll try to get this one done by the end of the month.
I must read some Toni Morrison. I have to make this a priority. Oh, 'Loved & Missed' has a fabulous cover, might search it out too, thanks for spotlighting this one. I didn't know this book. BookTube is so stimulating.
Loved and Missed broke my heart. It has stayed with me. You are tagged on this one, too. No pressure, but I'd love to hear your responses if you decide to do it.😊
Great responses to a fab tag, Pat 😊I have 'Beloved' on my bookshelf, hoping to get to it later this year - it'll be my first Morrison, and I think it's about flippin' time I read some of her work. Ah, Judy Blume - I remember 'Forever' being the talk of the classroom in my early teenage years. Our school library had several copies of that, and a lot of her other books, and they were always checked out! I've read a couple but they didn't really resonate with me (not really a surprise😂) but I know how important they were to some of my school friends.
Hi Alex. Thanks for this lovely comment. Beloved is a painful read but one of the most important books in contemporary American literature, I think. Sula and The Bluest Eye are also very heavy but might be easier first reads of Morrison. Song of Solomon is also brilliant and beloved. Funny you should mention Judy Blume's FOREVER. That is the specific book that is being targeted by the entire state of Utah right now. Of course, that will just make more people want to read it. I plan to read it myself in solidarity. Are You There God...was important to generations of girls as they hit adolescence. I'm just sickened by all the book banning. Anyway, thanks again for this lovely comment, Alex. 🥰
@@BookChatWithPat8668 Thanks for the tips re. Morrison's books! I know very little about her body of work, 'Beloved' is the one that seems to crop up on BookTube time and time again, and when I spotted it in a sale I grabbed a copy. I'll do some reading around the books you've mentioned and perhaps swap in another as a first read - I'm sure my library will be able to assist in acquiring them! 😊
