The time finally arrived for the first Kloofzicht Open Day. It was a good day with the carp coming out despite the blistering heat.

Im quite new at specimen fishing and I want to know how long would you leave a rig before redoing it and what to do when you get a lot of beeps but no runs?

Hi there. Nice thing about specimen baits is that you can leave it a whole day if you want to. But its more than just replacing rigs or putting fresh bait out. You have to keep your eye on the water. If you see carp in an area where you are not fishing, move it if you can. This is for fishing in a dam. Water craft and watching for activity is just as important. If I cant move I will put fresh bait out after about 3 hours. But thats me. Some guys will do it quicker and others will wait longer. But its the combination of all the above. Its a tricky thing...
