    Hey guys! My DIGITIZED UCAT NOTES are now for sale! 🥳You can get a copy over on my Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/uk/shop/KharmaMedic !
    They’re a drastic improvement of my handwritten notes - I’ve added multiple NEW sections including DM notes, time saving tips & tricks, guides on how to prepare for the UCAT test, and how to know if your score is competitive and more! 😀
    Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel ❤ Happy studying!

      rahim ahmed yes sure!
      My scores were:
      VR - 650
      DM - 690
      QR - 670
      AR - 750
      SJT - band 2
      Average: 690
      What resources are you using to practice? :)

      Francesco did you find the sections similar to the medify mocks????

    • @franm47
      @franm47 6 років тому +16

      Ohene Frimpong yes, very similar. However, there were slight differences between the real thing and the mocks:
      For VR, the mocks are very similar to the real exam, but the paragraphs in the real thing were maybe slightly longer but there was not much of a difference.
      I found DM in the real exam much easier than the mocks, for example the probability questions were much simpler than on medify.
      QR was exactly the same as on the mocks, unlike what many people say. In fact in the mocks I was getting around 670 and I got the same in the exam.
      AR was slightly easier in the real exam, I found the patterns easier to spot.
      SJT was the same.

    I said this in the AR video but I have to say it again... I.AM.SHOOK at how easy you make it look! All those tiny pointers really made a big change to my score in DM which was** my weakest topic in UCAT. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

    Thanks so much for doing these vids, they are so useful! Just wondering, apart from the official website, where can you find mock practice tests?

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  6 років тому +7

      Edit: added more info about resources
      You are very welcome Natalie! Apart form the official website you need to purchase them I believe from one of a number of prep courses or from books on amazon etc... The only ones I have used are Kaplan and Medify. Kaplan's online course is useless imo. Their past tests are okay but the problem is that they don't provide an in-depth breakdown of what sections you did better or worse in and how to improve. I've been using Medify recently and found it very useful because it gives you analytics of how you are performing so you can focus on your weaknesses. It also tracks performance and history so you can see how you are doing I just think it's a great studying tool! They have 4 mini-mocks per section and 7 full mock exams. In my opinion that is more than you'll ever need to get your timing down and practice your heart out. I hope that helps, good luck!

      Great to hear it helped!
      In my time using them I've found it to be a great resource. There's hundreds of questions but better than that it can show you where you are performing weakest and you need more practice. Of course detailed answers to all questions doesn't hurt! In terms of difficulty I have found them quite similar as far as I can remember!

    Hi Kharma, is having a whiteboard important for sections “decision making” and “quantitative reasoning”? I will be doing the ucat online this year and they only offer whiteboard on screen which might be time consuming to use if I have to rely on it heavily...so I was wondering if it is the case of buying a physical one...Or can I just stick with the on-screen one without big issues...?

  • @EdmundDerwent

    9:56 I think you made a mistake here, it should be 0.6*0.6=36% chance for the magnetic drive and 0.6*0.3=18% chance for the SSD, thus the SSD is the better purchase.

    • @zaidislam1774
      @zaidislam1774 4 роки тому +1

      I disagree, both the magnetic drive and the SSD have the same chance of being filled up (60%), so this becomes a non factor when deciding which to buy. This means the decision is solely based on whether the drive is damaged or not, which the SSD is less likely to be.

      If you're doing the standard UCAT exam then aim for 1 minute per question (there are 29 questions and you have 31 minutes to answer them). But you can save a nice chunk of time on questions like strongest argument, giving you more time for the god awful (in my opinion) logic puzzles.

    Hi, I just wanted to ask how long did you study for the UKCAT and the preparation materials you used? Thanks in advance :)

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  5 років тому

      I studied for 4 weeks ( but definitely do longer if you want, I was crammed for time) and I used the 1250 questions Amazon book and some other books (I don't remember) and UA-cam videos!

    • @aashnarana7194

      Hey thanks for getting back to me :) Did you study intensely for a month? What was your study schedule like if you don’t mind me asking? Thank you :)

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  5 років тому +1

      Yeah exactly I was balancing a lot of other work at the same time but I did 3hours a day for 4 weeks and tried to study efficiently!

      @@KharmaMedic Yeah that sounds hard but doable! Did you buy practice questions from medify? I just bought the 1250 questions Amazon book and I was wondering if I needed more resources. Thank you

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  5 років тому +1

      I didn't when I took the UCAT because I didn't know question banks existed. But I would highly highly highly recommend using a question bank to get in as much practice as possible!

    • @securitycamera2537
      @securitycamera2537 4 роки тому +1

      It tests ur aptitude, to see if you can handle medical school, it’s not really an exam in the traditional senss

    @10.17 why is the answer not the third one?

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  6 років тому

      Milia A well the probability is the same so there is no advantage of buying one over the other. So there is no reason to buy the SS drive based on that cuz it's the same as the magnetic. :) Also A is definitely correct so we can eliminate the rest! Hope that's makes sense!

    Another banger! - One quick question,
    for the second part of 18.47 , how can you come to the conclusion that comedy films are more popular?

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  6 років тому

      Not by my computer right now but I'll check when I can!

    • @relentas4182
      @relentas4182 6 років тому +1

      I don't believe you can come to the conclusion that comedy is more popular than horror as you don't actually have statistics about how popular horror is.
      (Explanation):
      You know a >few< adults don't enjoy comedy, this means that most do enjoy comedy.
      The conclusion that comedy is more popular can be concluded is if it said:
      "A small fraction of adults enjoy horror" along with the previous statement.
      This is because if there's a small amount that like horror and a large amount that enjoy comedy, then you can say comedy is more popular.
      The reason its still a no is because you cant conclude from the text that horror is more popular.
