It just hit me after my 6th time watching this that in the beginning he is trying to tell his life story to the guys from the tales series to try to get some compassion out of him...don't think it worked...

This kinda puts into perspective how shit Jack's life was it honestly if you already didn't it makes you feel bad for him. If you think about it Lilith kinda made him the killer he is reminds me of her namesake
There is stuff that's been revealed about his past and Borderlands 3 is well for example that angel accidentally killed the mother or rather Handsome Jack's wife since that point he was terrified for her own good in the good of other people he locked her up when you play Borderlands the Pre-Sequel it's just betrayal after betrayal after betrayal what you see at the start where he's willing to sacrifice himself for some random person and then near the end you see him destroy about 6 people's lives by shooting them out of an airlock under 2 mission Suspicion that one of them could be a spy at this point is been broken and bruised so much and then when the Lilith and moxie decide to betray am that's the final nail in the coffin

Jack is literally one of my favorite characters in Borderlands. He’s cold, complex, and evil. But he also puts on the persona of being sort of a comic relief, while also thinking he’s the hero everyone deserves and needs. His story is also incredibly tragic and gave him this twisted reality of what a hero is, so he tried to mimic that.

Currently in ultimate vault mode, assassin class, and after you (spoiler alert) kill angel the fact he starts to call you "child killer" hits harder than any loader bot... Then the fact they killed of SCOOTER OF ALL PEOPLE sucks so much. If there were any two people from borderlands I'd bring back, it would be scooter and jack

I'm screaming!!! this is FANTASTIC!!!! lemme just. take a breath. cuz wow. literally the whole time I was watching it I was just grinning like a fool cuz everything was executed SO WELL and SO cleverly done!! your art style is so pleasing to look at and it's wonderfully clean, crisp, and charming. and all the little bursts of animation are incredibly pleasing to watch (especially the "high-five" at 2:52; they're both just adorable). I also seriously love how it comes full-circle with hologram jack talking to rhys, as if he's recounting this whole story to him (only to get killed at the end, rip). your choices for all the lyrics is absolutely brilliant (I especially love the whole sequence from 2:02 to 2:10!! the lyrics paired with the warrior are chilling)! and also!! I adore all the angel/devil imagery that jack has going on ,,, this song is absolutely perfect for him. I could go on for hours about every little detail I love about this (helios reflected in jack's eye at 2:56, how jack's doing all the stuff rhys can do at the start of ep 5 during 1:35-1:51, EVERY time you use a glitch effect, the frame at 3:38 that is so beautifully laid out and I freaking love it, etc, etc) but I'll spare you from having to read all that. but seriously!! this is such breathtaking work!! it absolutely made my night to see that another borderlands animatic had made its way onto youtube. I apologize for the incredibly long comment, but it wouldn't have felt right to view such an incredible piece of art and not let the creator know how fantastic it is!! Me and my friend write and draw to this song constantly because it's on our Borderlands/Rhack playlist, and I just have to say - it's exactly how I visualized it. This is so stunningly executed, I've already had to replay the video over and over again... all of the scenes are so stunning and visually stimulating. You've made the characters come to life. There's just SO much animation, I can't catch it all just watching it once - and what a treat that is! I look forwards to replaying this and enjoying it multiple times over. Thanks for the nostalgia Jack is still a favourite Character. One of those villains that oozes personality and insane Charisma. Still kept him at the end of tales of the borderlands. I mean everyone in that game tried to kill each other at one point.. Jack just was better at it than the rest.
There's one thing I really do enjoy about Tales from the Borderlands which this song also touches on. When it comes to fandoms of popular/charismatic villains, there are fans who love saying how much they would love to hang out with them or be their friends. Work with them, etc. Rhys worked with Jack who, even after his death, was a larger than life figure. You, as the player, could even experience how cool it was to work with Handsome Jack to overcome obstacles while he was his usual cocky self. Here is where something critical comes in. Jack, even if he's temporarily working with you, is a psychopath. He never had any intention of sharing power with you. You were a tool to get him back to Hyperion where he could digitally take it over as an Artificial Intelligence. Even if you would say that he got 'corrupted' as an AI which caused him to snap, this AI was still based on the real Handsome Jack. I love Handsome Jack as a villain. He's one of my favorites in fiction as a whole because we get to see his entire progression from ally in the Pre-Sequel to a rampant AI in Tales bent on turning everyone in the galaxy into a robotic copy of himself. It just baffles me that anyone would try to be his friend willingly. Maybe if he was still John the Hyperion programmer to keep him from losing it (a difficult battle on its own), but not after he became the villain we all know and love. Long story short, Handsome Jack is one of my favorite villains. But if he was real and I had a chance to work with him? I would run for the damn hills. XD
As someone who has always loved art but who's art is wholely inconsistent I love seeing beauty such as this, truly a masterpiece that makes me see jack in a different Light
I watched it around ten times now for artistic inspiration, decided to check the characters present and ended up watching compilations about the plot of borderlands thinking "too bad I am not in the fanbase to fully appreciate it." Right now I am downloading the pre sequel. Sometimes somebody's piece of art can change, if not life, then at least plans for a week.

This is one of the best pieces of Borderlands content I’ve ever seen. You are a badass. This makes me wish there was an option in BL2 where you could have sided with Jack at the end of the main story. Like instead of killing him, you betray Lilith and all them and join Jack. Now THAT would have been amazing.

He actually was the hero but then, bad things just kept happening that drove him to insanity and he was forged into an evil man, he was actually good, his daughter accidentally killed his wife, he was betrayed so many times, then he was pushed to the edge and is now insane
I'm thoroughly amazed how that song fit him so well. Jack was a unique villain in his own right. Honestly I think Jack was really misunderstood and he could have been a helpful Ally in the future if he had just changed a bit. Wonderful job composing this.

This is actually pretty nostalgic
Me and my friend write and draw to this song constantly because it's on our Borderlands/Rhack playlist, and I just have to say - it's exactly how I visualized it. This is so stunningly executed, I've already had to replay the video over and over again... all of the scenes are so stunning and visually stimulating. You've made the characters come to life. There's just SO much animation, I can't catch it all just watching it once - and what a treat that is! I look forwards to replaying this and enjoying it multiple times over. Thank you so so much for sharing this and creating this. I am so excited to see whatever content you decide to put out in the future - I adore your work!

@@rage2257 Nah, it is already confirmed that spare Jack is the canonical choice, in Borderlands 3 there is a legendary weapon call 'The Handsome Jackhammer', which contains Jack's A.I.
Thanks for the nostalgia Jack is still a favourite Character. One of those villains that oozes personality and insane Charisma. Still kept him at the end of tales of the borderlands. I mean everyone in that game tried to kill each other at one point.. Jack just was better at it than the rest.

There's one thing I really do enjoy about Tales from the Borderlands which this song also touches on.
When it comes to fandoms of popular/charismatic villains, there are fans who love saying how much they would love to hang out with them or be their friends. Work with them, etc.
Rhys worked with Jack who, even after his death, was a larger than life figure. You, as the player, could even experience how cool it was to work with Handsome Jack to overcome obstacles while he was his usual cocky self.
Here is where something critical comes in. Jack, even if he's temporarily working with you, is a psychopath. He never had any intention of sharing power with you. You were a tool to get him back to Hyperion where he could digitally take it over as an Artificial Intelligence.
Even if you would say that he got 'corrupted' as an AI which caused him to snap, this AI was still based on the real Handsome Jack.
I love Handsome Jack as a villain. He's one of my favorites in fiction as a whole because we get to see his entire progression from ally in the Pre-Sequel to a rampant AI in Tales bent on turning everyone in the galaxy into a robotic copy of himself. It just baffles me that anyone would try to be his friend willingly. Maybe if he was still John the Hyperion programmer to keep him from losing it (a difficult battle on its own), but not after he became the villain we all know and love.
Long story short, Handsome Jack is one of my favorite villains. But if he was real and I had a chance to work with him? I would run for the damn hills. XD

As someone who has always loved art but who's art is wholely inconsistent I love seeing beauty such as this, truly a masterpiece that makes me see jack in a different Light
I watched it around ten times now for artistic inspiration, decided to check the characters present and ended up watching compilations about the plot of borderlands thinking "too bad I am not in the fanbase to fully appreciate it." Right now I am downloading the pre sequel.
Sometimes somebody's piece of art can change, if not life, then at least plans for a week.
This was.... Really well done with the events of borderlands and when I saw the end when rhys smashed his eye and jacks worried saddened face I couldnt help but shed a tear. Great job m8.

This is one of the best pieces of Borderlands content I’ve ever seen. You are a badass. This makes me wish there was an option in BL2 where you could have sided with Jack at the end of the main story. Like instead of killing him, you betray Lilith and all them and join Jack. Now THAT would have been amazing.

He actually was the hero but then, bad things just kept happening that drove him to insanity and he was forged into an evil man, he was actually good, his daughter accidentally killed his wife, he was betrayed so many times, then he was pushed to the edge and is now insane
I saw nothing wrong with his actions, his plan was to exterminate the raiders and murderers and he was doing just that

I'm thoroughly amazed how that song fit him so well. Jack was a unique villain in his own right. Honestly I think Jack was really misunderstood and he could have been a helpful Ally in the future if he had just changed a bit. Wonderful job composing this.
