    just a couple of bits of advice take it or leave it .
    if you undo the 2 smaller slide bolts on the caliper .
    the caliper will separate from the carrier making access to the pads a breeze .
    then you can access the 2 big carrier bolts much easier that you was struggling with .
    also if you turn the steering to full lock and remove the key you can get as bigger bar on those bolts as you like .
    also if you separate the caliper from the carrier you can take out and grease the slid bolts for smoother operation of the caliper and brakes .
    hope the tips help .

    I think u just undid the caliper bracket bolts and not the caliper pin bolts which is the proper and easier way to get the pads on. Plus u would want to grease the pins if their dry.

    If you’re replacing pads you do not need to do this. The calliper opens neatly and easily, it’s simple to replace pad.

    So is the caliper built on to the caliper bracket on these.

    I've been looking for things to fix on my parents' Note, spark plugs and intake/cabin air filters are easy enough. Thought I'd have a go with the squealing pads but turns out I have none of the tools, aside from the Torx bit!

    Seperate the caliper from the carrier and it'll be easier to get the pads in next time

    Thank you for this video. I have this very job coming up on my mum's Note. Were they the vented brembo discs you used? She has had two sets in less than 10k and they keep warping? I think the garage she used keeps chucking cheap ones on.... She beds them in gently but they just don't last!

      @@utilitarian Having checked, I bought the Eicher Premium front discs from www.carparts4less.co.uk which is the same company as Euro Car parts but cheaper. They are £22.29 ea ( make sure to order 2 ) and have lasted well with no warping. Warping can happen if the driver likes to hold the car on the brakes when they are already hot....... Hope this helps

      @@SNORKYMEDIA I use autodoc it's about £9 for delivery for anything, I ordered pads front disk and 2 control arms light bulbs and some other suspension components. Think the disks were under £30. Was a nightmare to get the disks off had to use a F clamp (for the caliper) and a small sledge and Irvine grip sockets to get the caliper bolts off so lots of copper grease when replacing them

    What's the torque spec for the slide pins and the carrier bolts?

    • @SNORKYMEDIA
      @SNORKYMEDIA  2 роки тому +1

      according to the manual slide pins = 26lbs/ft --- carrier bolts are 77 lbs/ft

    Unfortunately, you have made an easy job look difficult.
