Meal ready kits are very handy for a quick meal. They are also extremely important in case of an event that causes you to evacuate your home or even camping.
Hi Kim! I’ve made a couple of large totes with bagged meals. I ordered a bunch of the P38 can openers off of Amazon to add to my totes, along with plastic silverware and disposable bowls. These were great to have on hand when we had Snowmageddon last year here in Texas. We were able to use our propane camp stove to heat up the meal. Thanks for the reminder about the water!! 😊
I plan on getting the P38 as well. Another thing I thought about was a water filter like a Sawyer mini. In the event you run out of water, you could safely filter some.
Great Information Kim. Adding the water to the kit is so helpful. We have a water set up in our car that we camp in but if we had to leave the car I doubt I would remember the additional water for the meals so thanks for the reminder. I have a number of these types of emergency go bags. The pouches are so much better as they don't need to be drained and less rubbish to carry afterwards. I'm kind of thinking about if we were to have to leave our car while out in the bush and carry supplies while hiking to nearest help. Thanks for sharing. X
In that event, it may be better to have a water filter. You could carry more food because you wouldn't need the water. Thanks for making me think about that.
@@LifePrepared ahh yes we have a life straw bottle also but if there's no water 🤷♀️ outback Australia or desert regions. We have a camel back water bag for hiking but the additional water for the meals is still an extra to think about. Great thought provoker for preparing for lots of situations. 🥰
What a great idea. I wish I had known this in Sept 1999. We had what they called the 500 yr flood. No one knew our whole city was going to be under water. It was so deep you could not see the tops of the sign like at Lowes. It took my house lifted it off the foundation turned it sideways n split it in half. Until you are in a situation like this you can not know that awful feeling. You don’t have a toothbrush clean clothes pads (of course I was on my period) you have nothing. You just lost everything you’ve ever had . Most things can be replaced but things like pictures n things that’s been passed down for 100’s of years is gone. You have no food nothing. So something like this I really appreciate big time n would love to learn more please. Thank you

Fabulous ideas. It’s like an ‘insurance’ policy if/when needed. Love this idea
Yes, an insurance policy. I like that.
I love the idea of those a little meal kits. It just makes it all really easy because it's all right there to grab and use.
I was also thinking of the guys. They can grab an easy one and cook it when I'm not home. Otherwise they eat nothing but pizza.
I bought military P38s and P51s to give to people in the meal bags ... If they need a can opener .
Great idea!
My husband and I used to live off the knorr pasta sides and hamburger helper and such before I knew how to cook 🤣
This was prior to having kids
I prefer to cook from scratch too but they are handy for a quick, no thought meal 😃
@@LifePrepared absolutely. I like to keep easy meals on hand never know when they'll come in handy

I have to admit living in Michigan, there is usually a water source not too far although I do carry water when hiking.
hi, subbed today, like # 116
Thanks for subbing!

Put those pouches in the front windshield of you car! Let the sun do the warming!
Good idea 👍 as long as it doesn't take too long.
