Rare Swedish cover version of "Boy From New York City", originally released in 1964 by The Ad Libs. In 1978 The Darts got a UK #2 with their version and in 1981 The Manhattan Transfer peaked at #7 on Billboards Hot 100. Written by George Davis & Tim Taylor. Swedish lyrics by Ing-Mari Nilsson.
Growing Girls formed in 1979 by 4 girls, all aged 11, who loved singing barbershop. A few years later they released an album 1981, produced by Lasse Wellander with an impressive lineup of Swedish studio musicians in the credits. Rutger Gunnarsson, Mike Watson, Roger Palm, Lasse Wellander (all famous not only for their involvement with ABBA).
Growing Girls are Susanne Frölén (now Harrington), Anna Bonnedahl (now Öhman), Malin Lindgren (now Palmquist) and Naima Medjaoui (now Meyer). The girls are still very much active both as a group and singing in different choirs, competing in choir festivals etc.
