I would like to mention that a theory says that the book was hell itself speaking to you. Explaining the "the pages on the book are blank". It also shows hells admiration for machines something that is also connected to a theory that the terminals are also hell itself.
I also think this as it says "feed it" in red text in 7-3 and then it laughs at you and "says as if you had a choice" in red and spaced out text in p-2
Personally, I think all the books in the violence layer (paint the world red, antennas to heaven) were written by the same dude who made the minotaur since they all seem to share the same reverence for death. They will likely be prime third and I can't wait to fight them.
This would make sense as the earthmover itself seems to be corrupted and constrained by mounds of what appears to be hell mass. You know, the stuff the demons are made of.
@@V1_the_coin_robot Well actually now that i think about it most red text seemed to be connected to hell.
The red text on that book this time seems to be hell deciding "wouldn't it be funny if i just project these cool thoughts into this book"
"A machine built to end wars only ensures wars continue."
It's hauntingly beautiful
The fact that humans made something so cruel and horrifying that hell itself took notes Is insane
Yeah

humans got so ruthless that hell was like "damn i gotta try this shi out"

Hell Itself: “Ayo wait a minute THEY’RE COOKING LET ‘EM COOK”
Humanity made machines so powerful, that the afterlife and beings created by God himself couldn't stand their ground against them

@NullKing404 that was genius

I find it funny how the first ever actual war machine we fight is the guttermen, like everything you've faced up until then was designed for peace, and war is only beginning now
Werent the sentries also made for the war?
It seems like towards the end of the war, and peace-time began it seemed to get more colorful. V1 was extremely colorful, with V2 backing the design philosophy. Sentries, Drones, etcetra.
@@prorandocopier7945v1 and sentries are both war machines, guttertanks are also brightly colored
The sentries and the drones seem to fill a more specialized role in combat or even for security, and the soldiers and mindflayers appear to br augmented by some force within hell, meaning they didn’t come from the surface. The swordsmachine is something that has augmented itself beyond its originao purpose, so for all we know it couldve been originally civillian in purpose, and streetcleaners are originally civillian, but converted for combat in hell specifically. The gutterman and guttertanks are the first enemies designed for the express purpose of open, sustained warfare. Their role is not specialized for security or eliminating one person. It is to wage destruction, to sustain warrented counterfire, and respond indexcrimentantly with the strongest sustained payload possible. Though other machines may be designed or repurposed for combat, the guttertank and guttermen are exclusively designed for war.
@@bobbuilding7264 ty so much for the explanation
The lore dump in layer 7 was nuts. So much was learned about just how horrifying the Final War really was. What really got me was how the Gutterman made Hell say “Write that down! Write that down!” In regards to the Mannequins
using the concept art weapons to showcase the "arms race" is actually genius hahahahah
8:55
its not a human who wrote this, its hell itself. we can tell beacause the text is red and that the page of the book are blank, meaning that there is nothing writen here but its hell comunicating to v1
Or that V1 itself is speaking. One of the two.
@@TheyreBetterDrynot possible to be v1
The message from it is seem to well known the action of mankind that happened before v1 even created and most importantly
Red text is seem to be represented of hell itself
We can see in minotaur terminal it censored and with red text and only being capable of doing that is hell itself who took control over terminal
The book itself is grim but the last line is just haunting
“mankind is dead. blood is fuel. hell is full.” the red text says in unison‼️🙀😱
When the book said, "Don't you get it, V1? This is a war without reason..." I cried.
On another note. its theorized that V1 was built to counter the Earth Movers. Being extremely nimble and able to destroy it from the inside and escape. But the war ended before they were put on full production. (Also V1 shares resemblance to the GutterTank with their angular appearance and bright colors so their probably of german origin)
Naw V1 being the direct counter to the Earthmover is confirmed
The earthmover is goliath and v1 is david
Hakita said in a dev stream that there isn't a country of origin for V1 (in-lore), the reason you have Russian, German, and Japanese writing on several machines was to emphasize the fact that this was a world war that involved all nations, so V1's country of origin wasn't important.
I'll just add my crack theory that it's probably Finland, that would be funny.

V1 could also perhaps be a full answer to most problems the Machines as a whole presented since their first model, the Gutterman.
Blood fueling must have been a painfully costly procedure (Extract, Refine or remove impurities that just makes maintenance more frequent, add the preservative additive, put on the storage tanks, delive to the fueling station.), How they solved it? Thin the plates, make them porous (Worse durability, but enables the breakthrough technology) add a full system inside V1 where it can take in blood, draw the resources to where they must go (Iron to the internal 3D printer for coins, the energy factor to the power system...) And store excess in its tank.
Most Machines are stuck on specific roles or have absolute limits to what they can and cannot do (Sentries are Sniper focused, Guttermen use suppressive fire and overfocuses on Melee, Guttertanks are guttermen counters only...). The solution? Bacl to the Human form, all the best a Machine offers (Superb reaction time, only needs the necessary FCS software to be added to its memory to let it use all weapons like a superb master, the self repair is easier, faster and more convenient) with the absolute adaptability of the humans (It has all weapons humanity ever made accessible, and through an Adaptive combat sofware, it can not only learn new tactics or develop methods of overcoming threats, but quickly adopt new weapons even if they are jury rigged ones (Nailgun, weaponized Railway construction tool).
It was the Magnum Opus of Human engineering for the Ultrakill universe, it was adaptable, versatile, used the best in technology, and had a size and material cost likely to be very affordable, thoigh still pricey for the end of times period of the war.
It was also never deployed, for the war ended, leaving it and V2, the "Peacetime" model, to never see the light until Hell decided to cause humanity's end.

I'm curious to see what Hakita has in store as the big reveal for the fall of mankind. Was it Hell itself? Did Hell take control of the robots? Or did the Angels get involved somehow? It's gonna be interesting to see what comes next.
Maybe hell did escape to the surface and/or control the machines there but heaven us very unlikely. In the terminal entry for either gabriel or the virtues (i forgot which one it is but ye) it says that heaven doesn’t want to “interfere with god’s human experiment” so yeah that’s that

Pretty much needed, since Matpat will retire few videos down
He is the mossbag.
not really for the most part they just retell stufff like terminal entries, while adding some theories in there from time to time
Something interesting I want to point out that the mindflayer seems like a small defense system version of that one on the earth mover
Maybe hell also got inspired by the security system to create mindflayers?
Maybe mindflayer took the plastic out of the earthmover to build such sensual body?
I had a theory about why Mindflayers are the way they are, because the terminal entry doesn’t mention why they will die to protect their plastic body.
My guess is that it’s hell itself corrupted them, though in a more literal sense. I think it probably influenced the mindflayers to make their purely cosmetic bodies, given it’s the literal dimension of sin it probably just did it for its own amusement.
Or mindflayers might be a entirely hell-constructed machine. A ‘Hell original’ so to speak just like the Mannequins.
Which would connect back to the first comments inspiration from the security system from the Earthmovers. Either that or it was reusing parts to make its own creation like a cursed Mr.Potatohead
The reference to Judge Holden in the book on the Earthmovers back, that war had moved beyond the new for humans, its "ultimate practicianor".

Just saying, I honestly think ultra-kill is V1s torture in hell, the violence layer made me realize that the machines we fight aren’t from the surface.. but are actually in hell, they are a new kind of sinner, after all, the game asks us.. Do machines dream of eternal sleep?
I mean I don’t think V1 died and went to hell that way because we break into hell in the prelude.
@@mailcs06 so then how are things like the machines in hell, we know there have been expeditions into hell before but with guttermen, guttertanks and Earthmovers? It’s like ultrakill is giving us this idea that the machines are suffering in hell for what they did to humanity, I don’t think V-1 is dead but I do think hell is still tormenting V-1

An idea I Just got right now Is the possibility that sentries were Made to counter guttertanks, drones to counter streetcleaners to counter sentries, and drones to counter streetcleaners. The duels in the sandbox AND the info given by the terminals can give you an idea of what I mean.
But as the New Peace begun, many machines remained obsolete untill the expeditions to hell, with streetcleaners as scouts of these expeditions, drones for security purpoises (as both cameras and guards), and sentries as photographers, or to eventually replace sentries, as their purifying programations still remained, causing them to burn all they consider organical.
Humanity may have axtinguished because of the streetcleaners, primarily. I doubt much about mindflayers in particular for this theory I have
Streetcleaners were made after the final war had ended for the purpose of cleaning up the debris and pollution of the war with their flames, and drones were made after the war for security. They weren’t even equipped with lethal weapons until they managed to scavenge them after humanity died out (presumably they were equipped with like rubber bullets before or smth)
I think there's a reason machines aren't called robots. WW1 never finished in this universe, and since it became even more brutal than before, after the machines entered the fray and the war efforts never finished until almost 200 years later, we can assume that writer Karel Čapek never had the time or effort to put onto paper his art, or maybe he might've even died during the war with the introduction of Guttermen and Tanks.
The first world war started with trench warfare. The final war ended with trench warfare. Brutal.
Now he needs to remake all machines lore
How is there a human civilization and machines made by humans in hell?
probable cause is that some of the machines went into hell as well like v1, and others like the gutterman, guttertank, the earthmover were made by hell itself to punish those inside the violence layer, doomed to suffer for eternity by the hands of their own creation, just like the video points out.
They were replicated by hell and used as punishment for the creators of those machines
I think most of the machines broke into hell looking for blood like V1, but the Guttermen, Guttertanks, and Earthmovers got sent there after they died due to their sins of violence. The new book added in the arsenal update pretty much confirms that they’re alive and sapient after all.
Whats the Gutterman intro song?
you know I just realized that A-10 warthog could take a gunner tank
9:01 discord notification got me 💀
The question is if its a lightning rod or a energy projector, unless thats the same thing
The timeline of the war summarised
There's a hearted comment on the official 7-2 combat theme on hakitas UA-cam channel that says "Judging by the terminals the final war appears to be WW1 but instead of lasting 4 years it lasted a brutal 200 years", again since this is Hearted by hakita himself I assume it's either canon or close to
Now for the actual war
The first part of it was the trench wars, at this point I assume the war was still fought by humans Up Until the Russians Created the Gutterman (on its chest is a small label that says human tank in Russian, which in this case LITERALLY means a human tank), they wiped out the humans with their chainguns and the Germans Responded by creating the Guttertank (this one has a label that reads Panzer Fist, which means Rocket fist and considering the borderline-broken knockback of their punch, that seems about accurate) at this point no humans actually fight and from here on out it's a war of machines, each one built to kill the last
And then the Japanese created the Earthmovers (Truly I'd expect no less from the creators of the Toyota), these were so destructive that the sheer amount of ash, soot and general mayhem it left behind were enough to block out the sun and cause the Long night, without sunlight to back them up the Earthmovers died and the remainder of humanity left created the new peace and the war officially ended. (Although they were still wiped out by something in the end)
Reminder that the Earthmovers were so terrible that they were considered a personal crime against god since they are in the third ring of Violence, violence against God.
in the dev commentary, hakita said that the timeline aligning with WW1 was a happy coincidence that was actually completely unintended
also in the dev commentary, he states that the earthmover is still in the second ring of violence, the forest. the earthmover we see in 7-3 is indeed the one we kill in 7-4
@@aniotheeh.4226 does that means that... there are nothing to maybe few souls that deserved that time of punishment, probably because there wasn't any prophet in history about heaven or shit like that
and then hell just used that ring to show V1 how would it be to fight in the war against it
yeah, hakita made sure to avoid any religious implications. that's why in 7-1, he changed the cross' meaning from Jesus' crucifixion to his "tree of life"
I am confused. So in the end humanity survived, or they still got wiped out by the remaining machines?
@@echo_chambeRR something wiped them out, it just wasn't the final war

this sounds likes the machine war in the animatrix movie
ULTRAKILL lore feels so similar to the “Well to Hell” that one creepy pasta
Its so silly they didnt modify them to use oil or some other fuel source
why do the guttertanks in the thumbnail look like 80's minivans 😭😭😭😭
I always saw the order like this:
Gutterman was the first
Guttertanks were to break the shields
Street Sweepers were to deflect the rockets
Swordsmachines were to outpace it
The Sentry was to kill it without threat of death to its sword
The Mindflayer was built to close the distance
The Earthmover was meant to be the end all be all.
V1 was meant to end it
Well Streetcleaners are confirmed to have been built after the war ended. Idk why they can deflect rockets. And the Swordsmachine was one specific scraphead machine that other scraphead machines then copied because it was so cool in their eyes
Mindflayers being made to counter sentries makes sense though.
@@mailcs06 it says they were made to deal with the climate catastrophe, but were made obsolete AFTER the New Peace. And the Earthmovers entry doesn't say anything about a climate catastrophe, so there must've been something else beforehand. Plus, we know barely anything about The Final War, so there might've some kind of event after the full production of the machines. Plus, if they were made AFTER the war, then they wouldn't have any combat experience.
TL:DR, they weren't made after the war ended
