I'd love to see you do a gray, black and white landscape sometime. It'd be a challenge for all of us.
Maybe i will!
@@thefrugalcrafter I like the idea of trying a monochrome painting, It is such a good practice method and can bring about even greater understanding too! Please give it a go! Have a Grand Day Lindsay!
Thanks for making us THINK about how to rescue something that didn't turn out quite as expected or how to correct an accident. The bunny is cute and added just a good finishing touch. Thanks.
Thank you!
The painting looks great. I have never seen you work on a painting you could not rescue, no matter the medium. I always learn when you talk through how you are going to tackle a challenge. Thank you for posting and the bunny was a great finishing touch!
Thank you very much!
Thanks gods, there is 25 inches of snow here, & I was dying to paint some snow! thanks, Lindsay! ooh new colors too, fun!!
I really enjoyed watching you do this painting. I would love to see the black and white version even with soft pastels. I bet it would be stunning.
Thank you for another lovely video.
I love the bunny. And how you brought this back from what looked like certain disaster! I need to learn that - I would have given up.
I love how it turned out, and I love that you pushed through! It makes me reevaluate that maybe some of my paintings aren't bad, they just aren't DONE!!! And I'd love more masking powder videos to explore what it is and isn't good for. Would also love a review of the Schmincke masking fluid! Love that you keep it real!💯👍🏻😍
I’m glad you kept pressing on. Good lesson for us all….don’t give up👍
You got that right!
Hi, Lindsay. I love that painting. Thank you for your video.🎉.
You are so welcome!
It turned out nicely. I like the bunny. That added a little something to it. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you! 😊
I love the trees and beautiful sky colors. The bunny was a cute finishing touch. Thank you for some good ideas for winter painting.
You are so welcome!
Wow! You did a great rescue, it is beautiful and I learned alot from this. Love it thanks Lindsay p.s. this looks better than your photo.
You are so welcome!
the bunny brought this picture to life well done.i love to watch your creative art
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your struggles and potential solutions!
You are so welcome!
Every time you said you didn't like it, I kept responding, "Don't worry, Lindsay, I have faith." And it turned out great! Adding the bunny follows the rule of three, even though it's tiny - good call!
I'm so glad!
I think this is beautiful! Love it!!!❤
Thank you so much!
I love that color palette! It was perfect for that painting. Sometimes the sky does have that rosy purplish tint in winter.
It does!
I am so proud of you for not abandoning your trees and bunny!. You've always said to finish up a painting even if it's a hot mess, and I've always taken that advice to heart with some of my most favorite paintings occurring as a result. In the end you have a pretty winter painting with a sweet bunny and a great forever memory on how hard-won the project from your devotion and labor. Well done! :)
Thank you so much!
I love the addition of the bunny!
Love this🎉
Thanks for keeping it real. I think it turned out great. Much more lively than the reference photo.
Thanks!
This was lovely and great to watch and pick up tips. I have lots of brushes but I always end up using my size 8 round for everything because I just love it and feel I can get it to do anything. I loved the hare, it's so cute. Thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful!
I love it. Sorry that you were struggling with it. It really turned out great
Your painting looks true to life, and it’s lovely! Thanks Lindsay.😉🤗
Thanks so much! 😊
This is such a beautiful winter scene! I adore the addition of the snow hare and the falling ❄️ snow!
Thank you very much!
You're normal! First time I think i have ever heard you exasperated, very satisfying at last you sound like me painting. 😂
Oh thank you!
I think the picture is beautiful and very natural looking.
Thanks 😊
I so enjoy watching you paint. You're currently sitting there painting and saying you don't like it and I'm loving it. I do love the black and white reference photo. I think I'd like to try to do it for a birthday card for my daughter as she loves black and white. We'll see if that happens. Glad to hear you liked Kristy's brushes. I have both her sets, purchased one and won one. I do like them.
That was actually a color photo but the fay was so gray!
Be good to yourself. Looking great and I have learned things from your tutorial. Thank you.
I'm so glad!
Looks fantastic, the bleed proof white is an amazing product - glad I got some! You are your own worst critic (as we are ALL harder on ourselves). Nice save!
Oh thank you!
Super nice painting. I love it
Thank you so much 😀
I love it!
Hello from Beautiful British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
Just before half way through... Lindsay "no... I don't like it, I'm not going to finish it, I'm going to do it again maybe!!!!!" Me... "NO... it's gorgeous keep going, I love it" Love how you finished this painting, love your work.
Thank you!
This was such a great video!
Glad you liked it!!
I love the bunny, Lindsay! The trees are a beautiful peaceful focal point! Sooo pretty!
Thanks so much! 😊
Thanks for sharing this painting process, it turned out very nicely. On a side note, it would be interesting to see how your sketchbook snowball is going, might be satisfying to see your progress with finishing off the sketchbooks
I finished up a few during Inktober! This is almost done too!
Oh, I love it! And the bunny is adorable!❤
Thanks 😊
watching you paint is always so soothing and I always think that you make it so approachable and then I try it but is an absolute fail. I realize that you have been doing this for a lifetime, but still.... Anyhow this is lovely and thanks for doing it.
Thank you so much 😀
I think your skies are the best skies on You Tube, hands down. Beautiful. One of the salt spots in the upper left looks like a sun dog. It'd be fun to enhance that. Love the painting.
Wow, thank you!
I love this, it's beautiful, and the bunny is adorable!❤
Every handmade piece in this video is a small masterpiece, reflecting the passion and dedication of the crafter.
Very pretty. I can.sit back and say the same thing about a painting. Then come back later and make it work. OH MY YES! Covid has really made my vision blurry, and not good at all. It's been 5 wks! Im .praying it gets better.
So true!
Lovely, really interesting techniques! 🌲🌲🌲
Thank you! Cheers!
This is super beautiful!! Gonna watch the whole video later!
Thanks 😊
Think of the bunnies! 😂❤
😆
I have a greyhound/foxhound mix. I totally get the "my dog has to be contained or she will take off" thing. Butterscotch is totally the same way.
this is so cute, a lovely tutorial ☺☺☺
Thank you! 😊
Love this
It’s beautiful Lindsay! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for demonstrating ox gol.
No problem 👍
I love painting snows scenes. So satisfying. Curious that the masking powder wasn't a good fit for reserving snow. Take care, from Portland Oregon.
It worked great for the berries I did last month, but I think I lost my way a bit when I applied it here . Also, I think I needed sharper edges.
Gorgeous!!! We are still covered in snow and ice down here in Bama so this is thematically appropriate 🎉
Us too.
Love the colors! ❤ I hope to get to paint this. I have a long list of projects in art to do! Thats a good thing. Never bored.
You can do it!
“If you’re drawn to it” Did you even know you made a punny, Lindsay? :)
Glad you kept going. Also, I ordered the powder before you decided it was not right go to for this particular painting.. Can wait to try it on something like the berries.
Nice!
Hullo Lindsay, I was wondering about that masking powder and if you were going to have a review or more paintings using this product! I have a drawing of my nephews out in the snow, they were snow boarding. So, I was wondering if this would be better to use rather than regular masking fluid? I liked how your "rescued" your painting with the white "paint" I am still struggling with this practice, I am glad your showing us how to do it! Thanks and Please keep going!
I definitely need to explore the powder more. I'll let you know when I do!
Wow, love it!! Worth all your struggles!! I just took a similar picture, but of three trees in a neighbors yard before everything turned icy cold. Lindsay girl, your eyes - oh dear - so sorry. Maybe you talked about it in another video (I get so busy sometimes), hope that long Covid side effect goes away. My daughter has had long Covid side effects in other ways. Could it be an onset of cataracts though? I’m getting my eyes checked in the Spring. Take care. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent and knowledge. ❤
No, luckily, it's getting better. It's a common covid symptom. I'll be right as ain in a few days.
Lindsay, have you been taking Benedryl or an anti-histamine? They affect your eye sight. It is reversible once you stop taking them.
No I haven't been taking anything.
Hi Lindsay, I am glad that you stuck with this painting, since I really like it. I have a question about masking fluid. What brand is you favorite for masking fluid.? I have been using Windsor Newton and it has been turning my paper a little yellowish. Thank so much for all that you create. I hope you feel back to normal soon. Take care.
- Eileen
That's what I use, but I make sure to remove it within a couple of days so it won't get stuck permanently. It shouldn't turn the paper yellow in that time, but the tinted version looks yellow when applied, so you can see where it goes. It shouldn't stain. Just make sure you remove it when you are done painting.
I thought this was beautiful. 🙂
Thanks!
I’ve never heard of masking powder before…what brand is it? Where can I get it?
Lindsay uses it in the "Berries in the Snow" video, there's more info there :)
Sorry, I just linked it!
I will attempt to paint it later because I’m prepping for THE dastardly colonoscopy tomorrow.😂😢
Good luck!
Out of curiosity, what palette tin do you have the paints your using in?
It's just a metal tin that had cheap paint in. I removed the insert and used magnets to put in pans.
Can you link your scrubber brush?
You want a soft scrubber by royal langnickle. Men's, zen and nocturnal pro all have them shrsl.com/4dw2u
This is lovely. I'm sorry you didn't seem to enjoy it... probably the leftover covid effect. 😊 Hang in there!
Thank you, I will
Which do you prefer? Masking fluid or powder?
Depends on what I want to do.
Go to settings......
I can’t find it either 😢
Fuck yeaaaa snowy treeees!!🤘
😆 I love the enthusiasm!
