ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on UA-cam and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!

Hey, sometimes you’re the windshield and sometimes you’re the bug. This day was a tough one but tomorrow will be better. Tough weather for the sheep birthing out in the open. Cold rain and wind, it’s bound to turn around.
Cammy, the UA-cam gods have been following Sandi Brock around - they forever are punishing her amorous sheep and ewes having lambs. Natural things Yet th hey put up the ads for the most violent game apps, wicked !! I have complained about Ada for some of these violent game apps. I don’t care if it is a cartoon.

Cammy, raising awarennes of the mental health side is so important. Well done for being so candid. You really convey the sense of utter frustration at things beyond your control. Unless you have been there listening to the wind and rain lashing the window at 2am when you have ewe lambing outside, I dont think you can understand the feeling of dred you know what you will face 4hrs later.
Yes, thanks for making people aware of mental health issues among farmers. This year has had some brutal weather and it can be tough saving the lambs that you can.

As I was growing up my family raised registered Angus cattle. To prevent the cows from calving throughout the year we set the breeding season so that they would calve from January to March. This is not that bad unless it froze or we got snow. There were several mornings where we kids would get up thinking we had school and come into the kitchen where my mom had placed a calf next to the stove to warm it up. You are doing really well keeping everything together.

This weather is relentless and it’s hard to know which way to go next.Im not sure if this is going to be of any use to you but I have some spring barley straw which if you had a friend with a lorry I could give to you. They are 7foot long 6 string bales. You could even put them out in the fields as shelters.Please let me know...Mark😊

Your efforts to save the lambs is heroic. Bravo, many don't care as much as you do. Regarding the lambs in the sink. Sandi Brock puts the lambs in a lambing glove and then puts them in warm water. That way they retain the birth smells that mom may recognize, and the lambs get warm, but don't get soaking wet. It may be worth a try.
That’s right i remember seeing that! we have two hotboxes now so hopefully the sink wont be needed!
Sandi also uses heating pads to warm lambs.
I sometimes put cold lambs in the car with the fan blowing on them either.

The one in front of the prolapse lamb is a pretty mom and has a pretty baby. The baby with a sick mom has a pretty baby. Spot and Meg are both with you which is nice. There’s the darling Jock. Very cold, wet weather to have to work in for you and the babies. So sorry you have that to deal with. It’s raining and chilly here in Vermont, USA., today , yesterday and two more days, per news reports. Yes, one has to think positive. Oh I remember, my two year olds, even though it was 50. Years ago. They get tired and cranky , like us. They are just littler🥰👍
Chin up Cammie! It’s worth all the hard work. You and your team are doing a great job in such difficult circumstances. It must be such a relief for other sheep farmers to learn that they are not alone or the only ones having a rotten time. This weather would sap anyone’s self esteem.

youtube has got it so wrong. People who watch Cammy want to support him because he and the team are doing a fantastic job. We are not upset by blood and gore. Those who advertise because he has such a great following and they know that the audience is not offended because most are doing the same job. So why has UA-cam reduced his vlogs to a peep show, my theory is laziness on UA-cams part. They are too lazy to find people to advertise or so greedy that they want more money.

Cammy you're doing great. The weather is fighting everyone who is lambing it would appear. The babies are growing up so fast. The lamb's jackets are smashing, and increased visibility is a definite help in locating and keeping fresh lambs dry.

Oooh, those screetches from Jock when he's fighting getting strapped in give me shivers from memories of my own girl back in the day doing the same thing... All the time! 😬 We had some pretty challenging times with her. You not the only one struggling. Took on a lambing after the last bloke got the sack and its a disaster. Malnourished ewes no milk, poor lambs, infact i used to look forward to lambing every year but this year it hellish and i start on the 20th with my own.

Hi Cammy, at home I use 3 crystalyx buckets at the front of the little trailer for wet lambs. Keeps them separate to stop mixing and you'd get more ewes in the trailer if you put a little hurdle in front too. It helps if you need to lift a few ewes rather than go back and to. Everyone is different though, but if it helps,thought I'd mention it.
Funny u say that joe. Today we swapped to a crystalyx tub with a lid. That way we can keep it clean inside until we need it! Thanks for the tip!
