I'm a flatlander, and I rode a summit 800. Everyone makes fun of me for riding an overkill sled for around here. But, whenever we got big storms, I would never see any trails broken for days. Drove me nuts. I would ask the local guys why isn't anyone out riding? "There's too much snow." What? That always blew my mind that there was too much snow..........for a snowmobile! This was back in the early 2000s. It's amazing to see what the new sleds can accomplish.
You can take a mountain sled nearly anywhere a trail sled will go, albeit with a few compromises. You can’t take a trail sled to many places a mountain sled will go.
I might be more excited to watch Jerry 1 everyday than you Matt 😂. In all seriousness the progression and zones that your dad has gotten into is very impressive. This experience is something that I am sure you both will cherish forever.
Also an experience that I get to experience and everyone else out there watching, all because you do this for us. Thanks Matt. But Brandon here is correct. We enjoy watching the OG Jerry more than you. 🍻
Kudos to the boys for sticking with it. Could definitely see the frustration and that they were out of their comfort zone but pushed through anyway. Nice work boys! That was no beginner terrain lol.

Dude your a very talented rider and extremely patient with everyone. Your 100% accurate on Learning bow ties and hop overs. At least that terrain isn’t super high in consequences if they don’t pull it off. Keep shredding
Super technical drainage navigation. I was tired just from watching. Your dad said he had a bad day but I saw him make some really bold moves, I thought he was great in the face of significant adversity. So another thumbs up to super Jerry! Looking forward to tomorrow with some new snow. Edit: Well, tomorrow for you, I guess I will see it Monday.
Watching you ride, you make it look so easy, then you see all others and see their struggle at times. Insane talent, makes me want to buy a sled. A bunch of us ride dirtbikes and adventure bikes. Hit BC and Moab UT plenty. Some crazy riding. I enjoy the bikes plenty but wow your channel (I found recently) is awesome. Definitely makes me want to play in the snow to. RIde safe, love seeing your dad rip too. Keep up the daily greatness and keep safe
Been watching your videos everyday! Would love to see another super crazy intense tree riding day out on an exploring mission! Still waiting for that overnight trip you were talking about!
Another great video. Love your riding. I am now looking to get a snow machine, just a cheap ditch banger take the daughter on its been 16 years since iv owned one.
Awesome video! I have the best time riding with people that are more skilled than I am because it helps me to step up out of my comfort zone. Riding challenging areas like that just make you more confident and better. Your buddies will be thanking you later Matt! 👍
The hop-overs and loops are so effortless after all the reps you have in. Awesome skills man! I find myself taking notes about foot placement etc hoping to improve based on your example. Thanks for the effort pushing great content.
Been watching your videos for close to a month now probably. Think you’re better on the Polaris. I was always a cat guy put I may have to buy a Polaris now lol
So, in summary. So far the Polaris is more playful, more powerful, more dependable, takes less input to control, and holds an edge better. Not looking good for the doo. Lol 😂
The snow seems hard packed in that video and the narrow foot stands and the slash tunnel have a really really big impact in friction in the hard snow. Definitely better in those conditions. But the rider is better too i think
@@Timichaud that would hold true in deep powder too though, powder is easier to carve through but hard pack just makes these advantages more evident. A more fair comparison will be of skidoos next gen skid when it comes out. This is like comparing an Axys to the xm chasis. Obviously the sled with newer updates is gonna have the advantage. It doesn’t matter how much skidoo updates the current gen sled the chassis needs a major update too, it’s time for a refresh.
The only reason Polaris is more power is there running 10 boost and skidoo runs 5 skidoo made a narrower ski stance so he could adjust them with bushings
This was some awesome yet challenging riding. I would definitely want to be up front to have fresh lines and avoid all the overlapping tracks. Even then, I'd only make it the first 25yards lol. Great job EVERYONE!!!
Well, you finally have some energy coming your way (read water/snow) from a solid fetch off the mid latitude eastern pacific, so you should get a couple days of fresh pow which I am sure will be nice. Be careful, between wind packing and the melt there will be the potential for a lot of moving snow. The bad kind of moving.
Great Riding by all. It is about getting better and pushing yourself and sometimes you need to go out of your comfort zone to achieve those Goals. Great Video. 🤙🤙🤙🇨🇦🇨🇦
Should start snowing in the valley about now, or within 20-30 min. I am sure it has been flurrying, but it should pick up into something that might accumulate.
The creeks can be intimidating, I worry we could have a long day digging and it does throw me off. Also id probably not do so many bow ties above a stuck rider.
Now I’ve never been on a sled nearly as powerful or capable as either a khaos or rmk so I don’t know but I feel like seeing how tight and precise you could be would be more fun than just seeing how long you can hold it at 8000 rpm with the skis off the ground all day long
Do you pretty much order a new sled every season and sell the old one? If i wanted to lets say go up there for a week or 2 to snowmobile, approximately how much would renting a higher end sled and guide cost? You would think a wintch would be useful on the sleds
Matt. Well Done Again, old Dog still has what it Takes to Ride with the Young Dogs. Matt a suggestion to help Muscles out after you put the Sheds on Truck suck Down a Protein Shakes it Helps repair trier Muscles faster. Take Care.
I know you said because there's no snow and stuff but my question is why to me that does not look like a fun day of riding at all unless you can go from the bottom to the top and keep going like you do but anybody else yeah no I may make it up there but the guys are ride with definitely would not and I'm not even 100% sure I would.

A thought, do beacon checks with the riders you are going out with and tell the channel why you are being extra sensitive to that now (because previous conditions + current conditions may = bad). Most of them are not jedi level tree riders like you and will want to emulate you, but on open slopes. They need to know why beacon checks and pits are important, particularly after the last two weeks of conditions you have had. Wind, heat, settling, make life above the trees dangerous if you don't know what you are doing and pit out. I did it for skiing long before I did it for sleds, but it is more important for sleds. Example, I skied for Warren Miller once, as an emergency guy upslope from the 'shot' as a kid (19). The guy ran across the face of Superior, Top of Little Cottonwood Canyon (Alta and Snowbird on the other face), and it broke a meter deep and 100m wide and by the time we got to him less than 2 min later he was dead, heart stopped by relentless tons of liquid concrete ice that bore down upon him and froze solid when they stopped. We all had peeps, could not get to him fast enough. I have skied maybe 20 times as many hours as I have sledded, but I have seen four similar deaths on sleds. No one was filming, we all had beacons, but different groups have different ideas of what is safe in terms of avi danger and high marking in the Alaska range. We all got to them quick, they were all dead. We did save a lot of idiots too, but I don't remember them as vividly. My friends and I often got high marks in high bowls, but we never started avalanches. We never accidentally killed our friends that were below us, we also did not kill ourselves. Nothing is more dangerous than a sled, and for the next couple weeks you have to look at them like riding chainsaws because of the conditions. After it snows a bit and sets up do a couple pits and show them what to look for. The danger will be in abundance in the coming days/weeks, good time for some avi instruction. (step one, make sure you can 'see' everyone's peeps or whatever the beacons are called now)

Could you make in the end of season edit of every fail, or compilation?
That looked intense, and the go pro can't capture 1/3 of those slops! LOL
Are all the sleds rocking 3" paddles? Is it a necessity, or would 2.5" suffice ? For things you do in your videos, not just drainage situations.
How much do you want for Jerry #1s freeride 165 turbo????? Great video as always!
What settings do you have the track springs set at? I'd be curious to see you ride it back to back on both extremes.

Dude you are a gnarly rider
Hi! Can you make a comparison between Polaris and Ski-doo when sidehilling?
By watching the daily vlog I feel you ride the Polaris much better than the Doo. Polaris also has a hell of a lot more power.
I see you guys had your work cut out for the day … 😆😆😆. Yeah … I would have NOT talk to you for 3 days after this adventure 😜.

God damn i want to be there.... so if i take a plane from sweden and rent a sled can i join? :)
Is that a right hand brake beyond the finger throttle?
