This is the exact boat I want. Hopefully by the end of this year ! Thanks for your video, I enjoyed it and appreciate ya ! ❤ ✌️
I don't know if I ever told you but I was a certified mechanic for a marina for 10yrs. We sold stratos, Lund, Bennington pontoons, and war eagle aluminum.. I loved it and wished I could have stayed in the field but my family needed more money. Good luck and congrats on the new boat!!
Sorry to hear that your dad passed, may that boat give you peace of mind and relaxation.
I just bought the exact boat today at the Memphis pyramid bass pro. Tomorrow I take it on its maiden voyage. Crappie season is just kicking in here I’m north Mississippi and I am looking forward to using this great body. Thanks
Congrats. Have fun!
Correction. Not a great body. Actually it’s an old body.
I just bought one of these. Your video was very helpful in my decision making. I can't wait to take it out this weekend
you'll love it.
Hey man, awesome video. I bought one of these last year. I love it. I got the 30 hp. I have the same issue with the tiller handle to the seat. I'm guessing that rear seat plate is for a fishing seat, not for while driving. I put an off set seat plate where you were thinking about putting your center post seat plate. But I went with an offset, since I still wanted it closer to the tiller handle. My arms must be short. They sell them at Cabela's. I also capped the bottom and caulked it to prevent water intrusion to the foam. Overalls I think the boat is set up real nice.
very cool.....hope it's working out well for you!
I just bought a 1754 with a 40hp tiller cant wait till it gets here
It'll take some getting used to but you'll love it.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure Im looking forward to it it's a little bigger then my 10' hahahaha
@@bobmackay9281 yeah...that's a definite change. I had a 1648 alumacraft with a 25....loved that boat....it could really maneuver...way lighter....comparatively, mine now is a tank.....does not turn on a dime and docking was a bit of a learning curve....just put a jack plate on it yesterday, too.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure that's awesome. I will end up doing that as well I plan to run some shallow area.
Sorry for your loss man that sucks.
How is the boat on fuel with the 40 horse and 6 gallon tank ? How much approximately run time do you think you could get ? I’m purchasing one soon and was just curious !
They say 40 hp is max on that boat, but should be a 60 hp as max motor on it
I won't disagree with you.
Wisconsin Regulation: Overpowering. No person may sell, equip or operate, and no owner of a boat may allow a person to operate, a boat with any motor or other propulsion machinery beyond its safe power capacity, taking into consideration the type and construction of such watercraft and other existing operating conditions.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure putting a 60 hp on that size boat is not really over powering it. It's appropriately size HP for it. 40 hp is under powered
@@TNsher776 since I rent the boat out to guests, if something were to happen, I'd rather not find out in a court of law.
@@TNsher776 I do have an updated 2 year video.
Oh man great call on the sealed seat base. I bought a cheap one that can get returned. Hahaha
Good video bud enjoy your boat
Love the video, I believe you should've installed your own equipment, Your'e unhappy about silly stuff you could have been in control of.
were you been. glade to see you
Hi, thanks for the video. I just ordered one of these and plan to put a trolling motor on, which I want to order before the boat arrives. I see you got the 45” shaft. Have you used it and fell that it’s long enough?
Well, all I can tell you is this, I got the shortest shaft (45") with a 55lb thrust and it was plenty for this boat and I don't have mine down all the way. I've used it in windy conditions and it performed very well. If I fished a river with a strong current a lot, I'd consider moving up to a 65lb thrust, but then you are getting into 24v territory. Right now, it's a 12v and I don't have to install a second battery.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure thanks! That’s really helpful info. The guys at Cabelas were trying to talk me into getting a longer shaft incase of wavy conditions, etc, but I don’t want all this extra long shaft for a boat of this size when the trolling motor isn’t in the water. Seems like it would stick out weird when folded up.
I saw the seat position issue as well right from the get go and am also having a seat receiver installed in a different location as well. Pretty silly. (I also got the 40 hp)
By the way, is your boat a 2022 or 2023 model? I was forced to order a 2023 model a month ago when I bought it…I’ll be curious if anything about it will be different. (The tracker website is still showing only the 2022 prices and models and they don’t have a 2023 brochure available yet. !!).
@@michaelelsbury4713 it's a 2022 model. Enjoy your new boat! awesome!
@@michaelelsbury4713 I've got a new video coming out today...maiden voyage. 33mph me and dog after playing with trim.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure Awesome! Really looking forward to it.
Another good call set a plate in the center. Hahaha i can keep the cheap one it will drain right there.
Any problems with water logged foam?
Hard to tell
I’ve read issues on it.
@@kph97 Older models used open cell foam. This is closed cell foam. Shouldn't be an issue ...at least not for 10 years or so.
The title of your video says 1654, yet you keep saying its a 1648. Which is it?
Can i ask what is the length of your trolling motor i have the same boat
45" .... plenty long.
Thank you
Could you do a more in-depth review of the tiller and in water
I have another video on my first time out with it in May...did you get to see it?
No jack plate Is it possible to run the gas tank up front
Gas tank would not fit in the under deck storage area...access hatch is too small
I'm no expert on jack plates...not sure what that could offer that trim couldn't do.
Just put a jack plate on it yesterday. We'll see how it operates.
Put a jack plate on so it will set the tiller farther back.
I bought a jack a few months ago. Will have it put on in the spring.
You ought to put the seat on the port side at the stern ! There is to much stuff running under the deck on the starboard side , Either way I wouldn't to drill into my boat .
Why on earth would I want it on the port side? 99% of people operate a tiller with their left hand. Even steering columns are installed on the starboard side.
Anyway...watch the later videos....I installed seats and other items...turned out awesome! There is no fear modifying a boat to your needs.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure I only based the comment on your concerns with the control panel location ! & You having concerns about putting a hole there ! Glad it worked out for You .
@@ACF6180T well, in a perfect world I'd have loved to put the CP on the port side....but unfortunately the data plates were in the way....and by law you cannot obstruct those. ......Thanks.
How long is your garage? Is the boat with the trailer really 21' 4"? I'm going base off the website.
I believe the garage I park it in is 24' deep.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure Thanks, I guess if I buy a 1654 too, then I will have to install a swing away tongue. My garage is a bit shorter at 21' 3".
@@KBurd1 I had one on my old boat/trailer...they work well. Or you just angle the boat a bit once it's inside the garage.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure Thanks, you got a sub.
Hahaha did he run the bolt in to the face of the versatrac hahaha
The elephant in the room…are you gonna be doing bee stuff this year??
Of course
@@KevinsNorthernExposure you better be doing bees this year your getting some of my queens
@@KevinsNorthernExposure so glad to hear that! Even though we are in Florida and “Beekeeping is local”😀we really enjoy your videos!! Also I had sent an email last year about the tool belts that you were making and at that time you were waiting on some additional parts you needed that you were having trouble getting….have you been successful in getting what you need,if so will you be making any more?
That foam is going to get wet and soak up water.
It's closed cell foam. So no.
I just watched a video of short time ago about a grizzly that a guy customized and he was squeezing water out of the foam under those compartments. He said he must’ve taken 200 pounds of weight off the back of the boat taking the wet foam out, just saying.🤷🏽♂️
@@lcjohn51 quite possible if you don't care for your boat. I installed a auto bilge so water doesn't accumulate in my boat. When it's out of the water, drain plug is always pulled. I cut out some for my seat base....at that time the insulation I removed was dry....nothing is fool proof. Keeping your boat in a garage during the winter also helps.
Leaving it outside is pretty much a guarantee the foam will absorb moisture.
@@lcjohn51 Also, you need to understand...there is no foam under most of the floor. Just along the sides and seat.
The boat design is for water to flow from front to the back under the floor deck.
I would say this is one of the worst reviews I've seen on this boat.
Thanks
