It's a decent level to where you're not going to be bothered about going on a field when it's complete but will be perfectly safe 👌

It's a massive project like, im glad we're nearing the end of the rusty stage tho ha ha
I had an 87 classic RR with the same rust problems. Lucky for me, i worked at a company that employed skilled tinsmiths who made me a lot of panels to fit perfectly. The finished job took nearly a year to complete. It looked great when finished,it was a labour of love,not really viable financially.
Neither is this one ha ha matt loves it! Itd be nice if we had all the replacement panels tho 😁
Professionals who take pride in their craft. It’s all well and good knowing how to do the work, but knowing how to finish the work and go that extra step, is a true demonstration of professional. Making something look OEM again, or in some cases OEM+ is what makes businesses like yourselves stand above the rest.

Wow. That was one mega impressive transformotion. I can see why metal work is satisfying. The sill and floor have been so well made and welded in that I wouldn't be able to tell what was original and what was replaced if I hadnt seen this video. Andy's carate kicks prove the Way of The Mechanic is going to put a safe car on the road. Looking forward to the next one

That’s some brilliant work there lads your welding looks top notch. I love the “bend kick” manoeuvre not many people can bend metal like that and with such precision it fit perfect👌 can’t wait to see it finished

Thanks mate, it's hard graft but looks amaizing when its done, we've got the front and passenger side to weld then that should be it for welding 😉
Great vid. As someone who was brought up in an ‘intellectual household’, I can only imagine what’s it’s like to feel the sense of achievement when you have rebuilt an entire car from scratch. My parents pushed me to go to ‘a good uni’ and achieve an arts degree that brings me a desk job that’s boring but slightly-better-than-averagely-paid. I was never allowed to really use my hands to build stuff due to ‘our class not needing those sorts of skills’ (bollocks) and my dad being barely able to change a lightbulb (due to too big a brain, probably lost balance). Would love to one day have the time and money to have a garage and work on cars in my spare time.

Just buy a cheap car, get some tools and start taking things off, clean them up, maybe paint them and put them back on....thats all you have to do to learn, well its a start, id hate to not work with my hands.....but im as common as muck ha ha 😉

Guys you mentioned you’ve never had arc eye!!! Trust me you don’t want it!! I’m a fence installer by trade and needed to weld some extensions to a metal post… never used a welder until that point and found it hard to see through mask outside in bright sunshine. So tried to start off looking without mask to start then once started ducked behind mask to finish it. Well I managed to do the job went home and everything was great…. Until about 3am when I woke up my eyes were on fire!!! It felt like hot sand in my eyes!!! After a few hours of splashing water in my eyes i managed to get to sleep. Nx morning go up thought everything was ok until I walked outside and was blinded by the sun so had to go back indoor. That lasted about 36 hours lol so like I said…you definitely don’t want arc eye…”😂
Ha ha beginner's mistake that mate ha ha ive done bits of welding for years and never had it, I knew how serious it was so always closed my eyes if the mask wasn't on, sounds like you learnt the hard way 😬😉 I hope you don't get it again tho
This is coming along great...got arc eye once ..used tea bags on the eye helps..Next day at school was not much fun.

Loads off garages have stopped welding now days its too time consuming and a dirty and expensive ,it took me a while to find a garage to do me 2 plates on my rear jacking points on my Bmw E38 ,Its done now £300 the size off 2 fag packets ,I took it in at 8,30am it was done at 1pm its a top job you cant tell now but my car is mint ,i might call in one day .
Youre right there mate, no one wants to do that kinda stuff anymore! It's too time consuming, they'd rather do 4 sets of brakes instead in the same itd take to do the patches.
