I remember the heat of the fire, the jiggle when the boy was running with us, us getting slammed on the table, the bumpy horse back ride, the troll picking up some1 who I thought was really one of us lol, the bubbling stew, and the kind yet scary Archibald taking us up in the air, the relief of getting caught ❤❤.
This was a great ride. I’ve only been to Bush Gardens once and this was the best and most memorable ride I went on. I really do t understand why they got rid of it. Great memories!
I haven't been to Williamsburg in 11 years but I rode Corkscrew Hill over and over. Sad to see its been gone a long time now that I'm finally heading back there.
I loved this ride. (The horseback and freefall were the best) You needed to actually be on it to feel how real it was since it was presented in 4D. Too bad they had to replace it. At least we can all pretend we're on it while watching this. Great quality video btw.
There were no shortage of Motion Base Simulators in the theme park world by the time you guys produced this. Let that be a bigger compliment to you that this was the best of them all when I from Florida went on this. It fit the land so well and did everything perfectly. I hoped the return of it was true. Battle for Eire just does not resonate or work the same way nor does it have the theming and conceit. Thank you for this being so pure it even has the multi channels of audio.
This ride was fun. It was replaced with Europe in the Air after Anheuser sold the park, which was just a boring adver-ride for an Irish airline called Aer Lingus. Hopefully the new Battle for Eire will be a worthy succesor to Cork-Screw Hill.
Is anyone else interested in making or signing a petition to bring this ride back? From what I've heard and experienced, it's just a rip off of Soarin' over California...
I remember going on this when I was little, and being absolutely terrified. The only thing I really remembered was being completely mystified why my dad liked it. It was gone a couple years later. I do wish I had had the chance to go on it when I was old enough to enjoy it, but Europe in the Air is my favorite ride in the park.
Stardust I don't see how Busch Gardens thought that Europe in the Air would be an acceptable substitute.. While they claim the photography is high quality, it sucks, and they don't get any worthwhile views on any of the places they show either. Then again, since Busch sold it to SeaWorld, everything has gone downhill.
So, this kinda happened. Europe in the Air has indeed been replaced, but not by a returning Corkscrew Hill. The new ride is Battle for Eire, and it has a completely different story. One that, frankly, isn't nearly as good in my opinion. It goes for that childish magical fantasy land of Ireland rather than the dark twisted tale that was not only more faithful to Irish folklore but also gave Corkscrew Hill so much unique character. Still, it's better than that crap that sat between them.
I have a feeling that when Europe in the Air has worn out its welcome, Corkscrew Hill may be back. Let's hope so! I think they just switch things out to keep the rides from becoming monotonous
This ride always made me feel like I was going to get whiplash, it was so rough. It probably did need an update of some kind, but Europe in the Air is absolutely horrible....one of the worst things I've ever ridden.
I LOVED this ride as a kid! It was my absolute favorite thing in the park! I just heard that Busch Gardens is finally putting in a new VR theater ride in the Ireland section called the Battle for Eire! Seems like they realized how much everyone missed this fun touch of Irish flare :) In case anyone is interested, here's the link for more info about the ride! Should be ready by Spring :D seaworldparks.com/en/buschgardens-williamsburg/attractions/rides/battle-for-eire-virtual-reality/
I remember when I was little I was afraid of this ride even though I rode it before. I was afraid of shaking, but now I'm completly different. I wish the Europe In the Sky was gone and Corkscrew came back. My mom got a headache in Europe In the Sky, and my dad got nauseous. I think we all know which one is better :)
it sucks if they got rid of it because of roughness...instead of tweaking something that already works...they get rid of it :( oh and i find Corkscrew Hill follow physics and was more realistic then "Europe in the Air"
sucks...was born 100% irish in the us... grew up and while doing so, Busch gardens taught me cool things/lessons from where I come from..now it's the Disney ride rip off and elmo...and Riverdancing (for now) sucks they were bought out, new owners are morons
Well, they had to take down the big bad wolf because they couldn't afford the parts they needed everyday/week. The company that had supplied them went out of business and they couldn't get anymore parts.
Mary T I'm thinking he was the old man the entire time, and just acted that way to "move the story along" so to speak and give you and the kids that adventure.
"The blaggarts! S'matter (it's no matter). Haven't got any Irish springs over there. They'd be no good toasted on a stick." Then: "Go and drop this insolent little serpent and his stinking fairies..."
@NowImThatSexyBitch It feels like your on a ride like the seats move and stuff. And at one point when like the horse touches the water and the water splashes up you get a little wet or you feel like a mist or something. You also feel the wind from like riding on the horse. Or something. But it feels like a ride. I can't remember exactly everything because I went on it like 6 years ago or more.
Remember the spray of water that hits you as the pooka catches you over the ocean?
Ahhhhhhh the memories are flooding back. This was the BEST ride in the park. BRING IT BACK!
Wait! THEY GOT RID OF CORKSCREW HILL!?
@@jackboy2387 Yes
@@jackboy2387 bruh I’m so upset right now
Good God. Core memory unlocked
I vaguely remember riding this when I was little. Thanks for helping me clear the fog in my memory with this!
I miss it so much!! I can still quote the entire ride after so many years...😥
Used to be my favorite ride.... I WANT IT BACK!
This was a great ride. I’ve only been to Bush Gardens once and this was the best and most memorable ride I went on. I really do t understand why they got rid of it. Great memories!
@buschgardenswilliamsburg BRING IT BACK🥺😭
SUCH a great ride! I really wish they'd bring this back!
It’s been years and I think I still remember every word of this thing
Holy crap this brought back so many memories
Oh, I miss this so ❤❤
This was my favorite ride as a kid, I was so upset when I heard it wasn’t there anymore
I rode this ride and it was my favorite ride I've been on. Sure am sad to see its gone.
I haven't been to Williamsburg in 11 years but I rode Corkscrew Hill over and over. Sad to see its been gone a long time now that I'm finally heading back there.
This just took me back to my childhood. I think to an age before depression and anxiety. Wow
I’m here today reminiscing in 2021🥺❤️✨ miss this ride

ohh the memories! used to be able to quote the entire ride haha. wish they would bring it back!
Thank you for having this!

I can feel the ride❤❤❤
i remember this ride on its first days great ride but that line was insanely long
miss this so much.
I miss this 😭❤️ wish it could return!
Can't believe they replaced it with a Soarin ripoff
This ride was fun. It was replaced with Europe in the Air after Anheuser sold the park, which was just a boring adver-ride for an Irish airline called Aer Lingus. Hopefully the new Battle for Eire will be a worthy succesor to Cork-Screw Hill.
This was the best ride ever. Europe in the air is the worst replacement ever!!
I just went to busch gardens last week and this looks so much better than europe in the air
Is anyone else interested in making or signing a petition to bring this ride back? From what I've heard and experienced, it's just a rip off of Soarin' over California...
I would sign it! I remember riding this ride when I was younger. What they have now is very... meh.
even tho im watching this on You Tube i can still feel the water hitting you in the face right before you hit the water and the rocks
I remember going on this when I was little, and being absolutely terrified. The only thing I really remembered was being completely mystified why my dad liked it. It was gone a couple years later. FF.Martin.91 Geez, why does everyone hate Europe In The Air?
+Stardust It's not fun! the graphics SUCK and the ride barely moves.
K2SonicFan Well, optimistic me likes it, and no haters are going to change that.
+Stardust EitA sucked wind.
This is probably my most favorite ride I have ever gone on :D
I remember this ride. I forgot the name of the ride thank you.
LIKE WHY DID THEY EVER GET RID OF THIS I RODE THIS SO MUCH WHEN I WAS A LITTLE KID. it was like the best 4D ride there
I remember riding Questor. It was the ride there from years ago. Nice video.
What if they're working on a brand new version of this with better animation and Europe in the air is just temporary. ... A man can dream
UPDATE they just announced a VR ride called otherworld that's Irish themed. I THINK ITS HAPPENING
Yee McGee it's going to be called battle of eire ;)

i remember that i remember standing in line but loving it lol
I miss this ride.
back when busch gardens was good
Aye makes me blood cold just smellin em!
Europe in the Air was basically made with Windows Movie Maker.
I have a feeling that when Europe in the Air has worn out its welcome, Corkscrew Hill may be back. Let's hope so! I think they just switch things out to keep the rides from becoming monotonous
I miss this ride oh so much. 😢
I was scared to ever go on this. Now i wish i did when it was still there.
this ride was epic. I'm so upset its gone
Oh I miss this ride.
Corkscrew Hill is my most favorite. xD I get such a kick out of it.
The memories of this ride
I used to run this ride back in 2008--they need to make a vr video to keep it alive
I miss this ride so much!!! It sucks that they replaced it with something boring!!!! >:(
Moll: Run along, you little varmint! I'll turn ye into a newt and barbecue you! XD lol
If I ever run Disney Imagineering, I'd rebuild this at Epcot's UK.
Let's take em to Duncan!
Funny how that kids adventure lasted less than 5 minutes 🤣
Fun fact, this was animated by Kleiser Walczak. The same company that did the original film for The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man.
I miss this ride...😫 i heard the other ride is bs
I miss this ride
This ride always made me feel like I was going to get whiplash, it was so rough. It probably did need an update of some kind, but Europe in the Air is absolutely horrible....one of the worst things I've ever ridden.
this was my favorite freaking ride :( i wish they didnt change it

I miss this ride so much.I hate this new manager for taking this down and the Big Bad Wolf
it sucks if they got rid of it because of roughness...instead of tweaking something that already works...they get rid of it :( oh and i find Corkscrew Hill follow physics and was more realistic then "Europe in the Air"
This was one of the best rides. SOOOO PISSED they took it out.... D:
@bizzle246 Yep. It's so amazing.
Can you upload the real moving seats for us, and spray water on us when Duncan talks in the cam
This was the best.
I MISS IT SO MUCH! :(
is there any way you can find out the background music that was used in this movie for the ride?
sucks...was born 100% irish in the us... grew up and while doing so, Busch gardens taught me cool things/lessons from where I come from..now it's the Disney ride rip off and elmo...and Riverdancing (for now) sucks they were bought out, new owners are morons
is archibald a griffon??
This would've been an amazing non-IP Epcot ride if there was an Ireland pavilion.
Well, they had to take down the big bad wolf because they couldn't afford the parts they needed everyday/week. The company that had supplied them went out of business and they couldn't get anymore parts.
HOLY SHIT
also darkoadter is a worthy challenger
loved this ride during my childhood til they replaced it a couple years back with Europe In The Air wish they would change it back to Corkscrew Hill
😢 This made my heart hurt
MEMORIES
Thanks, For up loading i went on the real ride!!!
This was THE Busch Garden ride.
I think I rode that tide like 200 times.
Glad I can actually see and hear it without all the annoying lil kids
Never understood Duncan's change of heart at the end...
I think he's just one of those characters who are generous and willing to help but only acts aggressive to attract customers to his pub.
Mary T I'm thinking he was the old man the entire time, and just acted that way to "move the story along" so to speak and give you and the kids that adventure.
"The blaggarts! S'matter (it's no matter). Haven't got any Irish springs over there. They'd be no good toasted on a stick."

"Go and drop this insolent little serpent and his stinking fairies..."
Europe in the ar is stupid I want corkscrew hill back

im so mad!!! i went last weekend and i looked forward to this ride coming to find it closed :(
Who the heck is Synthespian Studios? I worked on this ride with Kleizer Walzack Construction Company up here in Mass.
@Chambers143 Yes. :( They put some Europe in Air shiiz there, nao.. :(
its to bad it closed....hopefully the SOARIN' style ride will be just as good
Enjoy your swim
lol life hasnt been the same since. Cause we no longer have someone giving us the luck of the irish 😢
So much better then Battle for eire or the soarin knock off
THANK YOU!
This is better because its not boring at all.
Never thought I would say this, but....F U Busch Gardens, for getting rid of this. :-P
Thanks for posting :)
@capricorn7086 I've been trying to find that out too, but I haven't had any luck so far.
They will not bring back cork screw hill , I use to work on that ride , and its the beat ride they had there shame shame
busch gardens, BRING THIS RIDE BACK!! europe in the air is pathetic and makes me feel sick to my stomach. horrible!!
Despite the outdated animation they could’ve reanimated it and do it like the spider man ride where they updated it
didn't they replace this with the curse of the dark castle? I love that ride. but corkscrew hill will be missed
omg my friends grandmother works at Busch gardens and they closed this ride down
