    I always make Cauliflower "cheese" for lasagna and pizza. I just cook the cauliflower in boiling water until it's tender. Then I put it in the blender with oat milk, nutritional yeast, mustard, salt, garlic powder and tapioca starch. Blend it all and then pour in a saucepan and whisk until it thickens up. Turns out great!

      Same most of the time I spend an hour looking for a recipe and I’m like I don’t have those ingredients so I’ll try it my way and the awesome thing about vegan food is you can taste it at all points so I go by taste until it tastes good.

    Being someone with some cooking experience already, you definitely should not feel stressed about "just winging it"! Sometimes dishes where you just trust the universe turn out to be the best ever and usually they are at least decent or give you some inspiration for future experiments :D And this was definitely a successful no-recipe dish! It looked great and and I am sure (guessing from ingredients) it was super tasty!
    .
    Anyways, I really enjoyed this video idea! You should do it again!
    Lots and lots of love! Have a lovely week ahead!

    Looks good! Here's a tip for nutritional yeast: I'd wait to add it just before blending. Cooking it can decrease the flavor, and depending on how high the heat becomes (and how long it's cooked), vitamins like the B-vitamins in it can be degraded.

The turmeric will give it some anti-inflammatory qualities that mine lacks. Some black pepper will help too. Will have to try this next.

    • @nikaMeea
      @nikaMeea 3 роки тому +2

      Sarah Dee It’s a more simple recipe. I put one medium onion and about 3-4 garlic cloves (with salt) in a pan and cook them in sunflower seed oil until they’re golden. Then I put one small cup of lentils and two cups of water in the onion and garlic mixture. I boil them untill the water evaporates. If the lentils are not cooked yet you can add more water and boil them untill they’re cooked. I boil the mixture until has the consistency of a paste. Then you can blend the mixture a little bit, or leave it as it is (I like to leave it as it is because I like the texture). Then I put my pasta of choice in this sauce. Sometimes I add curry to it or extra powder garlic, sometimes I eat it with ketchup :)) Doesn’t taste a a mac and cheese though, but personally I love the consistency :D let me know how it turned out if you try it :D

    5:41 That was definitely A LOT of turmeric XD I would probably only taste this one spice if I added as much! But luckily you were able to mask it quite well I guess!

    Lol...sometimes I think you know what you’re doing...other times I think it’s your first time in a kitchen. Why not cut up the cauliflower smaller so it cooks faster? You look beautiful!

    4:40 I guess the biggest issue is the aromas as they are usually noticeable in the final dish and it bothers a lot of people - me included ;P But I guess there is no point in buying plant milk you will not use just for one dish so I am glad you decided to use what you had :D

    I never cook my veggies through…just at the outside a little bit soften… I want the nutrients… and the almond milk if it’s not organic… it’s very cruel to bees and nature in common… vegan means awakening getting conscious… it’s not against anybody… just buy organic and eat lots of raw fruits abd veggies 🍏💚
