- Many think that slavery was a terrible thing that haunted the world - ages ago. And yet, there are more slaves in our world today, than at any other time in history. In a New England village of the mid-1800s, Gary Kent discusses the freedom we can find in a faith in Jesus.

Thank you Pastor G.Kent for a worthy exposè on a heinous & prevalent sin. Excellent research, top notch journalism.
What should it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul, people should think about that before putting profits before human beings lives we are all made in the image of God.
Amen
Yes they should, and in a perfect world they would
Sadly we live in a fallen world full of evil and greed
& sadly there has always been the rich, and then the
middle class, then you have your poor people who
are always taken advantage of. Thank GOD Jesus
Christ will change all that when He sets up His Holy
Kingdom here on earth.
AMEN!!!
You couldn’t say it any better
It's horrendous that any person can possibly justify stealing a human being to be at their mercy to do whatever such an evil person's desire may be! This ought not be so.
True Frank. Let us do our best to minimize, if not totally eradicate any forms of slavery. God be with you always my brother. :)
@@TheIncredibleJourney thank you my brother for sharing such gospel rich content with the world. Hopefully we will meet very soon in the clouds, or in heaven with the Father and the Son of God, our Lord Yeshua Messiah.
Thank you Pastor Kent, I was aware of slavery in parts of the world
but not to the extant in which you have shown us today. It is a heart
breaking thing, that this still takes place today, but sadly there are
now far more evil and greedy people in this wicked world who only
seek to benefit themselves, and at the cost of others. GOD bless
you, your family and your Ministry dear Pastor Kent.🕊🙏❤🤴
The bible considers it legal to own people, so what are you talking about?
@@GuessWhoAsks The bible speaks about it because the human heart is deceitful above all things. Nowhere does God approve of slavery
This video is awesome! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching and dropping a comment Nathan :) God bless!
I love the way you combine history with the bible!
Thank you danceladyinred. :) May you enjoy watching our other videos as well :) God bless!
Thank you Pastor Gary Kent, God bless you
What about the babies that are bred into slavery in the bible?
Joseph was sold into slavery by his own Brothers
Everyone needs to learn about this slimy industry !
Thank you for sharing this am charles watching from kenya
Amen! Thank you for watching this episode with us Charles :) Hope you'll enjoy our other videos as well :)
No one is talking about the modern-day slavery.
The economic hardship, recession, unemployment and the loss of job caused by covid pandemic is enough to push people into financial ventures. I'm taking a trip into investing because I lost so much during this pandemic. Multi creation of wealth is the best strategy to ensure financial sustainability..
Irish slaves too which were Anglo Saxon. How about saying how many people owned slaves too. This video makes it sound like 90% of Southerns has slaves.
It would make the video longer. How about if you creat a part 2 video about Irish slaves. You get to say how many people... Gives you an opportunity to share Irish history with others. Just saying.
These topics should not be ignored! Thank you for not being silent! Only as a whole society can we solve the problem of slavery.I invite all caring people to a unique event on May 7. International online forum "Global Crisis. We are People. We Want to Live" is a large-scale and unprecedented event, organized thanks to the independent unification of millions of people from 180 countries on the Creative Society platform.
They didn’t actually own them for free and actually many of the slave owners lost everything as a result. It cost roughly the same to maintain an individual slave as it did a common laborer in the north. The poor in the south actually made less than it took to own a slave. Why then did they have them? Because of the tradition of the institution. Power over others is an illness that blinds those who engage in it and the society around them don’t question it until the real thinkers push for change. That’s how it is today. It takes time or great effort to change.
Pator Kent the Bible endosed Slavery,What is your comment on that ?
Military 4 black people
😢😢
I think your definition of slavery is too weak. It should include people in modern society forced to work due to taxes and debt and the inflated cost of housing. All forced upon the population by governments.

Calling people that are in voluntary debt slaves is pretty offensive and does a massive disservice to the memory of people that were actual slaves.
In some cases, voluntary slaves were treated more brutally. Research is key for understanding.
This documentary is a mess. Why compare this illegal activity with Chattel slavery in the US?
What this mostly happens in third world countries.
The bible still allows slavery, so the answer is,, yes.
Where do you get that from? The bible speaks of slavery quite openly but that is because the human heart is deceitful above all things and is not to be trusted
@@anthonythistle1465 ''The bible speaks of slavery quite openly but that is because the human heart is deceitful above all things and is not to be trusted''....Where in the bible would someone learn that it is wrong for believers to consider a foreigner to be their property that can be passed on to their children as an inheritance?
@@anthonythistle1465 ''Where do you get that from?''....from Leviticus 25: 39-46. I do not know which version of the bible you follow, so could you provide the scripture from your preferred version?
@@GuessWhoAsks As I stated before slavery is part of the human condition and this is why those verses were written for the Jewish nation a few thousand years ago. If you read the bible as a law book you can make the bible say whatever people want it to say. If you interpret it as a law book according to your understand God was all in favour of Solomon having 300 wives and 700 concubine.
@@anthonythistle1465 Your reply does not answer my questions. What is your foundation for morality Rob? If it is the bible, then where would its reader learn that owning a foreign person as property is wrong and not allowed? Why does it not condemn slavery, but instead offers a guide for differentiating between who can be a slave for life and who can not?
''If you read the bible as a law book you can make the bible say whatever people want it to say.''....So, are you saying that the message is confusing or vague? If so, then why are you convinced that YOU are interpreting it correctly?
