It's nice to see clear and precise information given. No drama, theses things can happen no matter how hard you work to prevent them and no matter where in the world you live. It's very wet in Wales. I don't have horses but I use to work with them. 🐎
I was worried sick about my horse having something much worse but now i’m leaning towards an abscess. He’s basically unable to walk on his right forelimb, and its only gotten this bad in the course of a month so thank you for calming my nerves. He has a trim set up for tomorrow to see if we can find anything.
An abscess will typically worsen rapidly, talking over hours and days not over a month. Did the farrier find anything? Sounds like you really needed a vet.
Thank you! And certainly, we already have a video here documenting our first steps when he came up lame: ua-cam.com/video/jJh-K9UGOmo/v-deo.htmlsi=5CbwHJLUo0fjDc6P We will soon be putting out an update video on his recovery!
Wow, timing on this video couldn't have been better! Thank you! One of my geldings has an abscess in his front left hoof. He's pretty much crippled right now and I feel so bad for him. I've got his hoof bandaged, trying to get the abscess to rupture out of the bottom🤞 Do you guys recommend anything for hardening of hooves or just put shoes on him?

❤ Another great video, MSER. I have always wondered about how an abscess forms in the hoof. This is really helpful information. Many thanks
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching 😊
Hope he gets better soon.
Thank you💜

Glad to find your channel. Will you kindly show Aengus' recovery journey?

Basically: If you think an infection hurts in our stretchy skin, think about how much it hurts in a hard, non-maliable keratin prison?
My poor mare is recovering from one. Thankfully she is stable and the abscess is draining. Where she got it is anyone’s guess.
