Entangled Seal Stops Nursing Her Baby
Вставка

- We unfortunately had to interrupt the baby seal’s nursing time. The seal mom had a tight fishing line around her neck. Her entanglement was too severe, we could not take a chance and wait for the pup to finish breakfast and risk their escape. Without our intervention, she would not have lived much longer and the entanglement would have claimed both lives. Mother and pup recognize each other through calls. Once we were gone, they listened to each other’s unique call and reunited.

I've never heard one be so vocal before. I know it was painful and stressful, poor girl, but now you have a better chance of living and pupping again.
And that voice was almost human.

The sound of
PAIN is instantly recognizable.
Now she free ❤️
Right, given the severity of the wounds on so many of these seals, I'm surprised more don't holler when having the lines/ropes/netting removed. Seals must have super thick skin.
@@moreld1
IMO, in todays society of "wokeness" it is a lesson tens of thousands SHOULD "grow"
"A Thick Skin"
Thank you so much Team OCN for ridding her of this horrible pain! Now she can heal. You also just saved TWO lives by doing this!
The cries from that mama seal were heartbreaking. Besides being in pain, I wonder if she was worried about her pup, since she was unable to see what was happening. Thank you for saving her!❤️
Мне кажется, очень переживала, за своего совсем маленького ребёнка.
I could feel how painful it was for her. She didn't run away afterwards because she knew you helped her. The ocean will heal. Good work, gentlemen.
👍
I may be wrong, but it's the first time a seal expressed so much pain and discomfort while being rescued, she was particularly vocal about it. I've seen most of your videos and I'm always amazed by these animal ability to endure such wounds. Their will to survive is so strong that they rush to the SALT water as soon as they can! 🤯 It must be soooo painful when the wound is still so raw. 😞
They usually display their pain by moving their body, trying to get away with all their strength. This was the first time I heard one screaming.
This one made me cry.😢😢 OMG, the poor mother...you saved TWO lives with this rescue. Blessings to you.😊
Poor Mama. I had never heard one cry. Thank you for saving her and her pup.
My thoughts exactly
So amazing how the mothers locate their own pup in all those thousands. Wonder how much is smell and how much is sound?
I asked the same question. They replied to me and said its sound
Even though suffering so much pain😪, she still continued to take good care of her pup. Such a good mama seal! Thanks guys, for saving both her and her pup's life!🙏💕🦭
That's what Mothers do ❤
I don't remember ever hearing such long cries, even from severely injured seals. This case is strange.
The cry from Mama 🦭 was terrible. But our OCN team saved two Life.❤
👍
Listening to her crys of pain made me cringe, in spite of her injury the mother made sure her baby came first. Thankyou OCN. 🤗💝🏴
Saving two lives, a mom and her pup.
Thank you!❤️👍
👍
Poor mama.. trying to carry on with human trash around her neck.. thank you for giving her a new chance.. ❤️ 💙🦭💦
Poor little mama was screaming in pain. 😭 🧜🏽♀💜🦭
I hope she found her pup soon and continued nursing again. Thanks OCN!🦭❤️🙏🇺🇲🇳🇦
@alenahawke475 Yes she will find. Seals have an excellent sense of smell and good hearing. 🦭💞🦭. 😊👋
@@anitasyvalahti1730 good to know

I've been watching OCN since 2000 and Always Amazed on how These Superheroes Save These Awesome Seals!!! 💋
This is a skill we wish we never had to develop, but we are unfortunately very experienced by now.
I could hardly bear that poor seal's cries - the rescue must have been awful for you😢😢😢 I pray that she heals and can bring her pup up. Thank you for saving her💙
Hoping Mama seal never has to endure that pain again. Thank you OCN for saving her and her precious pup, and for all the beautiful seals you continue to save.❤❤❤
I hope she found her kid again quickly
Glad y'all found her. Now she can take care of her baby and not be in pain.
👍
I, too am sorry when mommy is entanglement 😔. Thank you, Naude, Tony and Denzil you gave a mother and puppy a second chance 🌷🌷🌷❤❤❤💞🦭🦭💞.
Обычно котики, когда у них убирают запутанность, молчат, а эта позволила себе сказать, что ей больно.
Mama saved = baby saved too. Thanks guys.
This is a skill we wish we never had to develop, but we are unfortunately very experienced by now.
The pain would have been unbearable. She was crying out in pain. She seriously thanked you
👍
Poor mama, sounded like she was in agony, which she probably was. Thank you OCN team for saving her and very possibly her pup too.
👍

Hola ✋ desde España también
So much pain, but so brave taking care of baby. Heal quickly momma, spend time in the sea to clean your wounds and fish often and successfully for both of you! ❤❤❤
Danke 💖

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard one of the seals make that noise before. Poor thing.
Just heartbreaking to hear her pained cries. Thank you for fighting so hard, Team OCN, to change this disaster we've wrought upon ocean life...and for saving these TWO precious lives.

It is torture to hear a living creature, especially a nursing mother seal, cry in pain. I hope she has already forgotten about the pain, fed the child and is living a full life.
Thank you for saving her.

Straszne cierpienie aż serce placze jak można tak kaleczyć zwierzeta to jest okrutne dziękuję wam dobrzy ludzie że pomagacie beż was nie miałyby szans 😢😢❤
Ouch! That is a good example of the impact of that darn trash in Mama Seals home! Thank you guys!❤❤❤❤
I have been watching for years. That is the first time I have heard a seal that is under excruciating pain. Thank you guys.
👍
Lets give our thanks to the unspoken extra member of the team, the trusty truck that helps out when the wind is in the seals favor. Dont you usually wait until mom and pup have stopped with feeding?
I hope she will continue to feed her pup. You saved 2 lives. Thank you so much.
👍
Oh those cries of pain, everyone has already it all, horrible entrapment. Thankyou for saving her ❤😢💖
👍
😢😢 Thank You so very much for helping this mom and her pup. You all are a life saver for them. God Bless All of You Amen
It was like she was saying ow ow ow Bless her
OMG! I've never heard one cry like that! Poor thing! Double save! 👍👍💕 Would have been nice to see the two reunite.
Бедная тюлениха, как хорошо, что вы ее спасли. и правильно сделали, что не дожидались пока она докормит щенка. Никуда щенок не денется )) У вас в команде новые участники? 👍💪
That was heartbreaking to see and hear - and necessary. She would probably disagree but she is lucky your team was there to rescue here at the right time. Thanks for saving at least two precious lives!
Very well done Team.
This is a skill we wish we never had to develop, but we are unfortunately very experienced by now.
the line causing some pain for the mother. go get your baby, the line has been removed. thank you for getting that line cut away so she can start healing👍👍
🇺🇦❤️🙏Thank you very much Team OCN. Good job.
Awwww...She is scanning for her pup in the end.
Hope they reunited.
My god. To hear her bellow like that in pain was shocking. I couldnt help but cry for her. My god the pain. 🤢. I hope she survives. Poor baby too.
She was literally saying “Owwww!” 😮😮😮. Thank you for helping her!
👍
I hope she found her pup. Great job!
never heard a seal scream in such pain, or maybe it was fear of dying with her cub left abandoned. but I've watched every video, which is thousands and this was tough. Glad you responded to her cries by not pulling on the line, as it could have been causing the pain. but seemed ok afterwards, so not sure if it was a cut being pulled on
Aw, I've never heard that cry of agony before. (Only from myself after eye surgery lol)
Momma yelled "OW!!" as clear as day. Why humans keep hurting her?
Thank you Team OCN for 2 more lives saved! 💙🖤🤍
That really hurt.
Poor sweet Mama i hope she can find her baby again. Thankyou for saving her life OCN crew.
Commenting for the algorithm. *Thank You all* for what you are doing. 👍👍
👍
After release she stopped well short of the ocean, probably understood there was no (more) danger.
👍
Poor Mumma, & so vocal too when the wound was disturbed altho I suspect at least some of her cries were yelling her baby to run until she made it out of the net & realised she'd actually just been helped in such an immeasurable way! Her baby ran off possibly thinking it would never see it's Mumma again....imagine the shared delight, & relief, when they rejoined again in the sea, especially with the Mumma realising that cheese wire snoekline entanglement trying to flat her alive was finally gone!
OCN out there saving entire families! Bless y'all and your families!
Our efforts are just a drop in the bucket compared to the millions of tonnes of trash entering the world's oceans every year.
We are unfortunately not solving the problem, but only treating the symptoms of the plastic crisis with our rescues. These videos aim to show the consequences of this pollution and create a change to tackle its roots - namely our addiction to single-use plastics, the lack of law enforcement at sea, and the shortcomings of the recycling industry.
"Escuché" que el animalito gritaba y luchaba pero, qué bueno que se le pudo rescatar
Un abrazo
👍
She’s saying, “Ow!” and a few seal curse words.😂😢
Thanks guys. I know you hurt for her as well.
👍
God bless you all❤

Where was her pup while you were freeing her? Do you know if they got back together quickly?
In all the hundreds of you videos that I've watched, I can't remember hearing any of them crying out in so much pain. Truly gut wrenching. ❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏😊😊
Every week, lactating females depart the colony to forage around sunrise to come back between dusk and early morning several days later. Mums and pups are therefore used to be separated and always manage to reunite thanks to their unique call and scent.
Well done again!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I like to think they know you help them.
🙂
I do not know how these guys see an entangled seal. God bless them all for what they do. We see how many are saved but that’s just a fraction of ones that get saved and those that don’t get saved wind up dying. These are very brave and caring people and I love the way the one guy talks to the seals. I don’t know his name but they are all Gods angels doing His work here on Earth.
We scan the different groups of Cape fur seals with binoculars from far away, looking for imperfections in their fur.
This is a skill we wish we never had to develop, but we are unfortunately very experienced by now.
This was a tearjerker, mama was in such pain but still took care of her pup. Thankfully you not only saved her life but her baby’s too. 💙🦭🌊
❤...Helden
I’ve been watching for a long time and I think this is the first time I ever heard the “target” so emotive. She really sounded like she was in pain. The poor thing. I could only imagine that was because of the pain of the entanglement and the fact that she was separated from her pup. After all she probably didn’t understand that you were there to help and that you would release her. (I tend to anthropomorphize animals. I know how I would feel and I assume she feels the same way. I know it’s crazy but it also gives me heart for all creatures.)
Sweet!
I'm sorry that there's so much trash going in our beautiful oceans. It's heart breaking. I wish everyone realized what the impacts were for their actions. I'm thankful for your team and I'm trying to do what I can on my end, just wish everyone would take steps to help and not be lazy.
Wow, that was rough. I hope I never hear that again. Great job guys.
👍

I wondered if the baby would stay close by, but no. She probably quickly reunited with the pup.
