Mine says "Smart status failed" when I clicked Run Drive Status Check. What should I do?
Hi, I have tried both of the methods (WD Utility & Disk Manager), however, I do not see my HD detected in the WD-Utility method. When I tried the second method, I don't see any options in Disk Management after connecting the external drive. I have important data in the drive and don't want to lose it. Any suggestions anyone?
It's useful until you get to the step where i can't see my external drive in the "WD drive untilities" and want to get a recovery on my files. Whats the solution then ?

Dude I literally celebrated like I won the superbowl when you walked me through formatting my external drive.
"Ok guys I'm just gonna go ahead and download this free program. Ok go ahead and click download. (Proceeds to do 10 things with no explanation) Then I'm gonna right-click show in fowladarwa. Aaaaaaand then I'm gonna go ahead and check properties"
