Wow I really didn’t think of it on that level. EVERYTHING about these 2 amazing choreographers is next level. From their ideas to their dancing it’s truly in a class of its own and I hope they keep creating and sharing these moments with us. I feel like a better person just for having watched this. Also it really hit home as I struggle from mental illness. What an incredibly artistic and gripping way to tell that story. Goosebumps.....

it's actually insane how intricate the choreography is, how every single movement is so important and adds something to the story. i can't imagine the hours they put into creating this piece, and how much it must've meant to every person on that stage to be a part of something so special! the choreography combined to tell the story absolutely left me speechless and so moved, this is pure art.

as a dancer i can personally say that the accents in this piece of choreo are tremendous .. keone & mari’s musicality is phenomenal ! they have done such a good job at telling a story with no words , so overall this piece is superb

i got chills when they were separated by the barrier but both of them climbed it yet still couldn't reach each other at 05:18 ...
The ending really hit. Instant cold chills and lump in my throat.
Reading the comments before watching this I was like: "why tf did this make y'all cry?"

The chills I had in the audience was insane. I'm so blessed to have seen this in person. Keone and Mari is......just....unbelievable
Here's my interpretation of the last bit of this piece (4:37 - 6:58)
This may have been obvious to many, but regardless, here it is in words:
The linked arm wave with Keone was a cool move and eye-catching, but in my eyes, it was way more than a well-executed piece of choreo. That wave symbolized what a person, particularly with mental health problems, goes through. Every move, every thought, and every action is followed by a seemingly never-ending wave of doubts and fears. It carries its weight back and forth, rippling, in a person's mind. Even as Keone tried to get away from the others, all of the voices in his own mind, they followed and attached themselves to him. Out of nowhere in the midst of being in the embrace of Mari and his child, they take him away.
5:00 - 5:50 shows me that no one is free from the voices that are in one's head. Mari is being moved around and finds herself in front of a fence surrounded by her own doubts and fears. They seem to comfort her, but in actuality, they are keeping her separated from Keone.
I even see there are moments where Mari has to distance herself (4:47). You can see Mari turn her back on Keone as he's being dragged away (4:24 & 6:04).
These thoughts that come from within, keep us locked in and fence others out. For the one trying to make their way in or their way out, it *will* be exhausting. It *will* feel pointless and even futile, but as Keone and Mari state in the description, "[there are] dangers of doing it on your own."
@Keone and Mari, your piece speaks volumes, and I would love to know if I'm correctly hearing what you're saying. Thank you for all that you and the dance community at large are doing.
Also at 4:55 how there's one side dark and one side light is like the good and the bad of her thoughts (I also feel like the clothes resemble yin and yang and knowing how you have both)

Daaamn. I thought of the dancers as people, not thoughts.
Because in the beginning they had written that "We falsely believe that we create our identities on our own."
They're like the people that feed us doubts and fears and distance us from what really matters. Until we decide that we do not want to keep hearing what they have to say and believing what they say. Until we have something that really REALLY matters that will wake us up (Mari and the baby).
I am at lost for words. This choreography is unbelievable. I was shocked this entire performance. Words cannot explain my love for this choreography!! AWESOME job!

Possibly the most inspirational choreography I have ever seen!
I have schitzo affective bipolar disorder. Im still learning how to live with it. Due to that, my relationship just ended. There is something very healing about this performance for me. It really reflected how I felt when all my emotions change in an instant. And how it felt loving someone who accepted me and did the best that he could
I can promise you, there is someone like that for you. (Although I'm not sharing :P) I found mine. I have bipolar and borderline personality so I totally get the struggle of trying to live with the emotional stability of a coke and mentos. I don't have schizo affective, so I unfortunately can't understand what that is like. But know that you have my complete support, and if you want someone to talk, lemme know and I'll give you my socials!

I still can't get over this piece. Stunning, beautiful, so meaningful, so well executed. We all struggle with something, we all have our Demons. Surround yourself with people you can talk to about it, reach out to somebody, ANYBODY. We're not all that different in the core. You are NOT nothing and you are definitely not alone.

I’ve seen this only three times in the past 3 months and every time I BALL MY EYES OUT. This is amazing guys. You manage to convey such a presence, I’m floored. AGAIN.
I've followed Keone and Mari for years but this performance... really... really hit home. I can't even put it into words. I'm in tears. I love them so much

This piece really hits close to home, and I'm sure many others feel the same way. I struggle in maintaining my mental health and thought I can go through it on my own. But I soon realize that I always need someone by my side when going through all the hardships, whether it's a friend, a parent, or a guardian. Thank you Keone and Mari for yet another masterpiece and for sharing a powerful message. 🖤
I was literally about to type the same thing. Truly powerful and inspiring.
There were so many parts in this performance that I would skip back and rewatch several times, just to see the depth and weight of the choreography. I feel like I could watch this a hundred times and still not be able to appreciate the complexity of the piece! Keone, Mari, you guys are absolutely amazing!!
Love this couple so much . Mari represents how much power women can really have! Some people let motherhood detour their dreams, but this video shows anything is possible.

This is the best thing that I've seen in the dance scene in YEARS, this is truly creativity at its finest. When Mari came out, so did the full emotion and she played her role beautifully and effortlessly. Everyone did. It was beautifully executed and almost triggered tears for me. Thank you for staying true and sharing light.
I don't think I've ever felt that drastic of a shift in the middle of a performance. It went from, clean movements, grooving with the music, trying to memorize the steps, (as you would when you really enjoy a good hip hop piece). but then...went straight to trying to hold back the water works until the very end. it made me completely forget the first half... idk what these two have in plan but I'm confident it won't disappoint.

This is the first time I've seen a pregnant dancer perform onstage. It brought tears to my eyes. Mari, you are amazing :) The group is always on point. The expressions beautiful. The choreo mindblowing. Just exquisite!

Before reading, I highly suggest that you rewatch this dance a second time and try to uncover the story and symbolism hidden in this piece.
Everyone sees a dance differently, but there is generally a common consensus. Rewatching this a second time and realizing the symbolism behind this dance had me in tears. In my point of view, the group of people shouting "HAPPY, MAD, and SAD," are Keone's emotions and feelings. They control how he feels and acts and this can be seen through all the interactions in the first half of the dance. When Mari comes out, she notices him lost in his emotions and tries to rescue him. Not giving up, his emotions still hold on to him as he desperately tries to escape from their control. Mari is seen doing more and more dangerous moves, even reaching out to him during a cautious point in her life where one fall could mean the end as seen at 5:17. Eventually, she finally pulls him out from his past toxic emotions and feelings to start a new beginning. In the end, she helps him find his new identity, the real Keone.
This is my personal interpretation of the piece after rewatching a second time. It connects to the first quote of the video by illustrating that, finding who you really are can be extremely difficult, and having someone there alongside you, through all the troubles, can change a person's life.

This is one of the best routines I've ever seen! Emotional, talented, excellent choreography, team work.... the list could go on. A beautiful example of art in motion!
Its so beautiful and to me it portrays how if we are brave and choose to love another strong enough, they can not only give us the motivation to overcome unfavorable aspects of our identity, but even be the ones to stop them themselves. I believe she is the hero in the end and I pray for a similar love for everyone reading this.

I've watched this so many times over the last year+. I get chills every time, I cry almost every time. I was recently diagnosed with Bipolar II (long after I found this). I think that this dance reflects so much of what we go through and what we feel. Happy, mad, sad. And there is nothing more beautiful than when someone reaches past the fence and pulls us away from what's controlling us. Yes, they have to breathe, and that's okay. They need to. We love them, and if they didn't have the chance to breathe, how could they ever come back to help?

When they got that Kendrick Lamar beat it was absolute fire, but then Mari came out & the piece broke free like a butterfly just awakening...
