I was actually the one sent in viewer mail this episode under the name "Raven" because I liked ninjas and used to called myself "Ravenblade" on old GameFAQs forums (so cringe). I remember being anxiously excited for Gran Turismo 4 and would look for it to rent at BLOCKBUSTER but I had no concept of release dates, I must've been like 10-years-old when this episode aired lol
I remember when people said "two thousand and five" instead of just "two thousand five". Not sure when it changed though...was it "two thousand and ten"?
Forgot to mention this: Although the channel changed its name to TechTV in 2000, the office decor remained ZDTV-themed. Notice the red cubes by the plaque at about 19:54, at about 19:57, and that huge red wall in the hallway, too.

Rant incoming: Ah yes...their Sonic Heroes review...which actually even bothered me as a kid. I LOVED the game, so it comes off as awkward when Morgan says she only cares about Sonic...when the reason why I really liked this game is because of the supporting cast. And now recent Sonic games relly more on Sonic himself than any of the supporting characters. He's the LEAST interesting character on the franchise. Heck, it took the live-action movie to make the character himself actually engaging and interesting. I'm probably on the minority on this, but the recent comics have been the other constantly good Sonic media out there.
Spooie, that thumbnail: Is that an actual behind-the-scenes pic of that episode? If so, where'd you get it from? I think I saw another one like that on Twitter.
Nope! Taken from a frame at 1:08. The only difference is that I have a G4 Rewind version of this episode as well and got it from there, which is why the image is sharper.
Hm...they give Sonic Heroes a 3 out of 5 for "slowing down," yet they give that soccer game...based on the most BORING AND SLOW SPORT IN THE WORLD...a perfect score for pretty graphics and realism.

Do you think the video professor free CDs were because the Internet was catching on and they knew that all of their stuff would be irrelevant soon?
I was trying to figure out what the gimmick was with that. I’m wondering if every disk was just stuffed with ads.
