It is soo much fun watching these vids
Robs reaction to Lees "we both love a bit ofLes action" comment definitely deserved more of a response than it got!
Hi everybody just checked in on this (try not to watch myself on video too much) and thought I'd take the time to thank everybody for their kind words. The Andertons videos are always fun to do, although as you can imagine a bit intimidating at first. The guys have such a good chemistry together and both play incredibly well. I'd also like to assure you that there are no bad vibes between me and Rob! surprised any of it came across that way to some people.Hopefully we can do some new ones soon.
I'd really love to hear like full 60 minutes of you trying out different things with this rig! This vid made my day ;)
Just amazing. The use of the tone knob knocked my socks off.
Plus, the looks on their faces are beautiful to watch xd
AWESOME!
Paul is one of my favourite guys that you've had on here... always super knowledgeable about the equipment, lots of fun and one hell of a great player!
He is a seriously good demonstrator. Love the videos when it's these three guys :)
Lee and Rob u two are awesome to have paul on every so often.
my god thats sounds great modern techonology great that you switch to different guitars mind blowing
Wow, what a great player!
You guys have the best sense of humor.
Love Paul he was in Denmark last week to demostrate the Helix and Variax. Great Chap
Married in my homeland, very cool!
Love the guitar, great video guys!
Love the Variax. I like the dreads as well. That's a good length...looks good on you.
Thank you kindly!
Paul's the man when it comes to demos. Awesome player.
i bought a line 6 700 and i loved it so much that i bought the acoustic version as well. i would recommend this guitar in a heartbeat. :)
Paul is a consummate guitarist and reviewer, and one of the elite few able to stay on task while enjoying the chapper’s and captain’s sense of humor.
just bought one second hand £350 and i love it to bits it sounds awesome the acoustic 12string is the only glitchy thing about it it efin awesome
LOVE IT!
Amazing!
This is one of those studio guitars, where if a band comes into the studio and needs a certain sound you can just say, here, fiddle about with this! Amazing advances in sound from the last one in my opinion! Great review as always, and creds to Paul! Killer guitarist!
that guitar is amazing!
Merry Christmas mr. Chapman! and keep rockin'
"finally a use for a tone knob" ahahah that's just sick!! love this guitar
I have a 300 a 600 and an acoustic.. I would soooo LOVE the JTM!! Simply awesome guitars!
Awesome !!
i love how you can change the parameters of the effects with the tone knob. it reminds me of all muse's matt Bellamy's on board fuzz factory and stuff.
They just killed my old impressions of the Line 6 Variax!
That was pretty cool, it would be a great experimental guitar for writing...
Paul is a sick musician! Jaw: Dropped.
Oooof, loving Rob's pose at the beginning there ;O
Merry Christmas, Rob!
Have a metal new year!
Time to check them out. I've been using Line 6 exclusively for 12 years.
I really think that as the technology develops, modeling will be the way of the future. It'll likely never be as good as the real thing. But the modeling amps are sounding better and better with each year that passes. And the pick up modeling seems like a perfect alternative to buying loads of guitars if you dont have the money. The technology will always improve. I've never played one, but its a great idea.
Damm that dude can play!!
I think they improved a lot of their stuff indeed. The Variax stuff is genius.
Yep, yep, yeah, yes, yep, yeah, YES!
It's one of the Ibanez RG Premiums. Legitimately awesome guitars.
I like this Paul guy, you guys have good chemistry together, I kind of wish he was a full time reviewer haha. A great player with a great sense of humor, thats what I like about Chappers and Lee. The review is great but you can sit back and have a laugh as well.
wow awsome
Merry Xmas all
Great fun
Anthony- Israel
Chappers, I think you're in love with Paul. So much bro love going on in this video!
This guy can really play
Intro song is Bleed The Light by Rob Chapman. It's the Maplewood remaster of the track.
Incredibly tasteful player Paul, more Paul please!
Also...gas.
Wow. I am usually not one for the "modeling" gear, but I must admit I am taken aback by this. The best part is that it's a standard guitar at it's core. The magic and electronic trickery are secondary, if you wish. I must give this a closer look.
"Finally, a use for a tone knob!"
Yeah, they worked on the muting issue and nailed, though I suspect they are going to work even harder on it. Jeff Loomis just did a JTV video and I think these things will really start selling now.
line 6 have created the best threeway a guitarist can have ;) haha jokes apart ... this thing sounds amazing, normally im quite sceptical of modelling stuff but i must say it sounds unbelievable actually !
14:15 Awesome song
Your mother would be so proud.
He's just a great guy and an awesome player, find him on Facebook - he just released an album ;-)
Nice to hear someone who knows how to pronounce 'piezo'.
you grew op in Holland? go there mate, i would love to see you with the drills. love you guys :D
it was in the line 6 dream rig video by andertons, its a long video and they do it more at the end
The captain is really funny!
Only "a bit more bass end" on the modelled one :D
You can make anything sound good with your fancy playing.
Please tell me the Patch setup for this cool feedback. Overall thaks for all of your´s cool and funny videos
Wow, that's impressive. It's far from beating the real thing (or even matching, for example real P90 sounds much better then the L6 one in this video), but still those emulations sound great! Ideal solution for session guitarist, everything in just one guitar.
ive never seen a man sit so majestically
These make so much more sense than Gibson X guitars
Great video, Paul! What parameter are you assigning to the tone knob to mimic feedback? I want to do that with my JTV/POD too!!!! =D
by far the best thing about this vid is paul's accent...
I like this guitar.I'm just sad that Rob didn't play it all time.
i imagine that this guitar is very handy for recording :P might consider getting one...
Rob, what guitar is that on the left wall with the black quilted maple top? it looks stunning!
love the batman shirt
This is impressive, I'd like one
Pure Uncut Wizz-ardry..;)
Wow!!! I've Variax JTV59 and Firehawk 1500. How can I do this feedback like you do at 18:20??? this is amazing!!!
There are feedback control pedals, too.
LOL! Seriously, I've been loyal to L6 since the AxSys 212!
sounds better than the firebirdx
Dyads are two note intervals, an E and G# can SUGGEST an Emajor chord but a chord it is not.
Rob, winter starts on the 21st
Cool piece of kit... I've got no idea what Paul is saying though!
Hey Rob!
can you guys comment on reliability of the JTV? I liked even the previoous generation, btu the reliability was an issue - so I don't want to buy a guitar to play for 2 years and then have to replace it.
And would the differecnec in price for the american version be justified?
Thank you
I own the JTV59. and it's realy sounds alike originals. in this video guys try to compare LP+p90 winh LPjr. those are different guitars:) in JTV thete is model based on LP+p90. it is Lester in 5 position!
Finally, a JTV without the fugly "I couldn't be arsed to come up with a shape" headstock. ;)
Looks good, though. I'd be tempted to get one of the cheaper ones, strip the guts and build them into something like a Chapman Guitars or a Jaden Rose.
Im thinking of buying Varian Standard, which is fairly inexpensive version of Varian (basically system housed in Pacifica). Do you guys recommend one?
WHOT? WHOT? WHOT? WHAT IS THIS?? OH MY GOD!
My mate has one. Not sure of the model but it looks a bit like a Strat body. Not my kind of thing, but they're pretty good. If I was spending that money I'd buy a second hand JS1000 Ibanez!
haha, i fucking love paul! :D so funny and good at playing!
OK.... how to you program the feedback setting on 18:30 ?
when using just the piezo, does that mean you can't do the metal style palm mute chug?
(4-15-19) This is the first I’m seeing of a JTV-59 with these P90s or that gold top. I almost went for a pre-owned 69S this month, but the modeling system didn’t work. What’s the point?
I always find it funny when demonstrators and brand-specific people get edgy around saying the brand of the company they're emulating in their amp or pedal modelling tech. Give them some props, they inspired the sounds your own company recreate in these wonderful bits of kit so well! If you're 'copying' an Ibanez tube screamer pedal say so because that's in an odd a seal of approval for your own kit, as it sounds just like it!
hi rob, since you own a jtv 59... hows reliability on these? cuz i think all the electrics are awesome but they also make me worry about reliability
I didn't knew you grew up in Holland?:D I'm from that country!
i wish we had a store like anderton's in my country... :(
Would be interesting to see a guitar like this that can mimic other guitars Vs the actual guitar they're replicating. So when Paul is playing a 'LP Junior', Chappers or Lee could be playing an actual LP Junior to compare?
More paul videos. He's great.
6:20 Chapper's, Monsters vs Aliens lookalike moment!
You didn't mention this in the video, but would the p90 les paul JR have a bassier sound anyways because it has a shorter scale length than the variax?
lol pullin off some Dragonforce with the whammy tone nob effect
"I love that les action." Do I even need to say anything?
Chapman ML-2 with Line6 innards. Mmm!
The only funny thing about that great Variax guitars ( I have a 300) is, in that case, playing telecaster, acoustic or strat sounds on a Les Paul. You will get used to it, though...
Q: How many guitarists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Ten, one to change it and nine to say "I can do better"!
