this guy can make a broomstick sound good...
I’ve watched this video three times now (as of April 9, 2019), in anticipation of getting a JTV-69S. Definitely motivating for me, in terms of showing what it’s capable of. As with other commenters, I lament that this demo doesn’t include demonstration of the acoustic simulators, as well as the chance I had to take on ordering it from Guitar Center without getting to play it on the floor first (since I won’t set foot in Sam Ash Music unless it’s a last resort). However, I am looking forward to seeing how late works, first with my ME.-80 and later with my HD500.
For a few months I've had the jtv69s, hd500x, dt50. I'm still on the beginning of the steep learning curve because of soooo many choices. Bit off more than I can chew, but I do love it all. How has your line6 stuff worked out for you?
As long there is a JTV 7 string, I am buying! It's not only about dropping the tuning, it's also about the chord fingerings being friendlier.
Love these guitars. Too bad they discontinued them. Glad I own my JT-69. One of the best guitars in my collection.
I'd love to try one of these guitars. I'm from a small town but just spent a weekend in Houston, visited a couple Guitar Centers and couldn't find one. One salesman said they didn't sell so they quit carrying them. I could order one but would much prefer to play one first instead of playing the buy/return game.
Ron Singley Ordered mine without playing it based on what I saw on the internet. It went on sale in Canada for less than $1k Canadian (a real bargain in US dollars). Not disappointed one bit. I feared the worst, that I would hate it but it has quickly become one of my favourites. Decide on Les Paul, Start or metal version and take the plunge.
3:38 dude. That lick rocks.
What he does not go into is the presence of the piezo pickups built into the bridge. He also does not address the "Virtual Capo" function. I'll check out his other videos. Great, great production values on the video!!!!
I liked this dudes playing.
Wish Sean had been my guitar teacher. He's awesome.
would have been interesting to show the acoustic modelling too
Also, why do these kind of videos haven't got tons of hits ??? Great stuff
Just jaw dropping. And what playing!
Pretty amazing. Would have liked to hear some cleaner sounds though.
What makes this guitar feasible to me is that its a regular guitar... but tricked out with technology. So regardless of all else, you always have an axe to play.
So to me, despite all of the technical bells and whistles. I would only consider this axe if it's a "good" guitar at its core.
If so.. its a contender.
Why has this comment been flagged? This seems like it would be extremely valuable information to anyone who is about ready to drop $1500 on this awesome guitar.
Incredible.
Hey Sean. This is a great demo. You're damn good, congratulations ! See you.
This guy is a great player.
JTV59 litle Gibson & litle PRS design
Actually, I just saw Line 6 released a trem version on the Namm show!
Why this isn't the biggest thing to happen to guitars ? Line 6 marketing and sales team need a wake-up call....
Nice!
How are they his design if they're copied after a Gibson Les Paul and a fender Stratocaster?
Not very original.
But they are very cool. I want one.
Can I find those sound on custom tones. And what are the called .. cheers
Strange that the 89 model that is a BC Rich Gunslinger/Kramer Baretta etc look alike has no trem, the late 80s were the big hair, super star guitarists era with nearly all of them using Floyd Roses etc, yet Line 6 doesn`t put a trem on the 89 model?????. I`ve got a Variax 500, Pod XT Live , and an HD500 but an 89 JTV without a trem won`t be on my want list!!
7:20 - 8:12 : that part!!!
Are these modeled effects designed for live stuff or could they pass in the studio as well?
Can you turn off the synth with a switch or do you have to take out the batteries when you're not using the models?
It's not a synthesizer.. There's a reason why it's called a MODELING guitar and not a SYNTH Guitar, because it's signal based, and what you play on your strings is exactly what comes out of the guitar, it's merely processed through algorithms to sounds like the pickups and bodies it's modeling.
I hate those guitars, but his voice just makes me want to buy them all.
I don't have a JTV yet but am looking at a JTV89 or JTV89F.
I was wondering with the Workbench. I was messing with it and was able to switch the strat pickups to a lipstick... Is there a way to get it to sound like a electric 12string?
any chance on a tele like model?
Anyone know where to get the Royal Blue 69 he's playing? All i can find is a Lake Placid Blue. But his is different.
2:54
what do the 2 humbuckers sound like on their own ? I want to know
Played one today that sounded good.
do you share your presets?
are the electronics the same in the jtv vs the original variax?
No, they have noticeably improved the sounds, especially noticeable on the 12 string models. Dual core processing now. You can also hear the body resonance on the acoustic models.
Is there any pedal out there can custom the guitar tuning like this without actually tuning it?
Morpheus Drop Tune
Elton de Araujo Guerdão But they only drop tune the gitar,I am kinda looking for some pedal to custom alternate tuning
ohhh now I get it. Sorry
Elton de Araujo Guerdão That's ok,sorry for not specifying it
George is ripping it
Where's the lefty
Sean, did you say you can control all changes from the HD500? I have the HD500 that I use with my collection of guitars. Im in a modern country band at this time and would like to go from acoustic to banjo to Tele on the fly without searching the knobs. Possible?
I love the presentation but WHY TALK SOOOOOO FAST ??????
god damn..
Hmmm. A funky young George Clooney clone. Cool!
Where's the freaking left handed version?
Left-handed version should be played by right handed people that way they're using their more coordinated hand to do the fretting.
Wow you talk fast.
Fact: James Tyler Variaxes sucks a lot. I hate their design, for example. They are most intended or "heavy metal gear addicted" people, not for common players. If you are not a fan of rock and roll or hard rock forget the new Variaxes.
Another question: why they discontinued the accoustic and bass Variaxes if James Tyler is so good to design guitars? Perhaps is because he is not so good at all. My apologizes for the people who spent money on new Variaxes, but the old generation is far better than the actual models, including the Pods. Thats my opinion.
+Ibis Luzia Guitars i dont know....but i m glad i have bought a Pod X3 Live, cause the news one have only design....i feel like special :D
You might already know the answer but I'll shoot away
they took James tyler to design these three new guitars
the bass and acoustic variaxes were not his as far as I know.
The jtv-59 doesn't look like it's just for rock/metal :)
i feel that bro!
