If you purchase the Dreamgrip Pro cage you can use external lenses with the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. With that I'm able to use 17mm and bayonet mounted lenses.
@@AndroMatthew It's a very versatile cage. And every year as sensors start to get bigger Dreamgrip sells an affordable upgrade kit for the lens mounts that is easy to change old for new parts.
Motioncam is generally soft because it doesn't have any post-processing done but it's easily fixed in post. But expect some degradation in sharpness whenever you're using an external lenses on phones, cause putting glass on top of glass tends to do that.
I got Ulanzi 1.55x and everything looks good, on normal phone camera, including close focusing when you lock focus, but the bokeh is horizontal, instead of vertical, which is a big disappointment. I feel embarrassed to even post a video showing off the lens, without mentioning the stupid bokeh in the description : D They really have to find a solution to that.
@@giuoco No, because Anamorphic on a Budget channel also reviewed it and said the same thing. The correct rotation is when the video is squeezed in horizontally, making everything taller, so on post, you desqueeze it and it becomes wider. If you rotate it the other way round, it'll be wrong rotation and squeezed on the wrong axis.
@ ah ok. Thanks for informing me then. Do you think it’s not worth it then? I was going to purchase it since it’s for 50 bucks right now… it might be a cool experiment for a vertical video right?
@@giuoco Its worth it for the wide view and distortions and the flair is small and like C shaped around the bulbs, as long as you don't mind horizontal oval bokeh on the regular landscape mode, but I never tried it rotated to get the final squarish video. Would be a cool experiment if you'd like to try and Id love to see your experiment too. I don't mind having it, but I would get rid of it once they make horizontal bokeh one. someone said its because it doesn't have its own focus ring, so lets see if they update it. I did request it on one of their videos, but no idea if they would consider it.
Hello! Can confirm if it comes with the adapter that can fit 52mm lenses?
It comes with a 52mm filter adapter if that's what you're asking 😁 Meaning you can use a 52mm ND filter.
@@AndroMatthew yes! thank you! Just want to make sure that I can use ND on it
@@zashee Glad I could help 😄

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked it out, while it's out of my budget now, it's a nice option for me to consider in the future.

Motioncam looks amazing, but, Can you only record in raw? does not support other formats?
Technically, it'll record in mcraw. Then you're free to choose to export into h264, h265, prores, or cineform.
what about s20 ultra? any recommended setup for that?
You can try getting an Ulanzi 17mm case and using this lens with mcpro24fps. If you're using the snapdragon ver, use it with motioncam. 👌
I've got to try this on my S22 Ultra. I've been using 1.33X from Ulanzi, Moment and Sirui.
Give it a go man. Would love to see what you can create with it.
so any 17mm clip will do?
Yup, any 17mm clip or case will fit the lens.
@@AndroMatthew thank you! this clears out my concern of the clips that comes with it

You probably screwed the lens on sideways, try and record with it on the right way
