39 Years Old Ford Truck - Crank No Start - Part 2 ( THE FIX )
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- in this video I'm gonna share with you how to diagnose and fix a 39 years old Ford F150 that cranks but doesn't start, this vehicle was towed to our shop, Follow along as we fix this truck in this video, this is Part 2 of a 2 Part video! Enjoy! #fordtruck #f150
Despite all the whining by the amateur Steven Spielberg’s out there and those that take offense to you referring to the truck as “old”, that was one excellent, comprehensive no start video. You covered all the bases--spark, fuel, power, ground, control--it was awesome. I’m old, but now that I think of it, I’m going to start referring to myself as “vintage.”
@iamthevanavator281 LOL, Thanks
This guy is the best mech I’ve seen . Really knowledgeable and hard worker . Dosent take short cuts .i wish he was near me I live in ga and everyone I dealt with are terrible . Especially the dealerships !!!!

Thank you my brother for filming every stage i am personally learning, please keep posting. I watch you from Zimbabwe, Africa
@martinmunyuku70 My Pleasure my Bro!
Wow! Super detailed diagnostics! I love it! You make it look so easy, but this is the area I struggle the most with when diagnosing a car. Great job sir!
@dmalott0908 Thank you!
GREAT FIX! you took us on a complete repair.I was thinking bad computer,and you proved it was only the ground wires.very important lesson,you may have saved your customer hundreds of dollar,but better yet you saved a bunch of VIEWERS much more ,by showing powers and grounds. CHECK THOSE REALLY GOOD.thanks KIT
@robertoruiz7069 My Pleasure! Thank you
FANTASTIC FIX!!! I bet another shop would have just said the EXSPENSIVE computer is dead. This goes back to when you taught us/me that even though a wire looks good and is also possibly protected with a cover that it does not mean that wire is good. NICE!!!!
@ROBINJOHNSON-l1k Thank you!
Wow that was a 👉 great one I love it thank you !...the lesson is test , test , test and test
@svhebert My Pleasure! Yes

This is insane next level diagnostic! So many possibilities. Follow the process, step to step. That's what we call being a professional! I'm going to have to watch this again Great stuff!
@rome8087 Thank you!
Thnak you for your video. Always very easy to understand and useful. And you speak words clearly and easy for me japanese. Good luck!!
@鈴木悠木 My Pleasure! Thanks
Very well diagnosed. Most people would have replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump relay n the engine computer before finding out a bad ground.👍
@LazyB-s8p Thank you!

@josehd232 Thank you so much
Thank you for your knowledge showing how to diagnose a vehicle with electrical and fuel issue problems and this particular model thank you very much you're the best🙏💯🙌👌👍💪😅
@johnniezuniga6841 My Pleasure! Thanks
this is a ford ec iv system,to do test on fuel system pump you can do it by the diagnostic plug in the hood but the terminal will be corroded by conecting a bypass wire on 2 terminal
the fuel system has 2 fuel pump low pressure in fuel tank and high pressure on the frame under driver seat on the frame
commons failure on high pressure pump is the terminal of wiring on the pump.the best test is to bypass diagnostic plug and turn ingnition on and wiggle wiring of fuel pump .
@danman9017 good to know, Thanks
Another masterpiece of electrical diagnostic/testing, I always marvel at the way and manner that you test circuits and components. Thanks Deo for sharing some of these skills and wits with us.

Well done good job 🎉
@Rekani-sq5nl Thank you!
Great job! I enjoyed testing myself and following along. This process is what makes a great diagnostic video. Thanks
@robertfoilesjr1337 My Pleasure! Thanks
Great job. I have found that over the years almost all electrical issues I come across are because of bad or faulty grounds. Especially on older/rusted vehicles.
@MaidenHell1977 THANKS! Yeah
***What a hair puller, great job.
@HoodsGlobal Thanks!
A+ plus on this one.
@ssrrocks22 Thank you!
You are a complete master to me
@luismejia9472 Thank you!
Thanks bro, enjoyed your video from South Afrika 🇿🇦. I love how you detailed the car parts work/used for and their name.
@ZamuxoloDoni My Pleasure!
One of first things my uncle (a Studebaker man) said to me at 16 years old was to never waste time finding the bad ground...just make a new ground since the every ground in the vehicle goes to the same place, the chassis! It was my first car, a 1975 Jaguar XJ6!
@richardgreene3460 Cool
Wow Deo you won at last. During testing I was thinking why don't you check whether fuel pump does send fuel to the engine. But you got it right towards the end of vidio. That was the challenjing this one. The only thing you forget to say is HALELLUJAH after the engine is started.😂😂 From South Africa KZN Nongoma Mangomhlophe
@wsnxumalo6707 Thanks, Lol
I’m so connected to your videos. Sims to like to short videos for me. Thanks. Love it how you explained.
@parvezmemon6438 My Pleasure! THANKS
Great job man, thanks for the great video repair, every time we learn a lot from you, who could guest this one ?, only.a.proffesional diagnosis can lead 100 percent to the solution of the problem, because wiring issue are hard to trace specially computer ones and find the problem,, three computer grounds issue.
@abdouallahuniverse5689 Thank you!
Very very good video
@mehmetkunt2503 Thank you!
Now u are definitely a great mechanic not a parts swapper

@sheerwillsurvival2064 Thank you!
Deo you're a lucky man , you got away from dropping the tanks 😏.
@josealdecoa2417 Oh really! LOL
My question is how did this happened without ground…I need more information and more details….or what’s the reason causing missing the ground….🤔🤔🤔🤔…I love your work and your videos…
@thearrow5793 Thanks!
Okay 👍 Chief good job
@JattaVictor THANKS!
I like the video ❤
@imadlabiadh4932 Thank you!
Easy way to check the ecm ground on these vehicles is to turn the key on and disconnect the tps sensor and check for 5 volt reference. If all 3 wires are 12v then the ecm is not grounded, I've dealt a lot with this kind of vehicles. Thank Deo
@vickenkaragozian2041 My Pleasure! Thanks for sharing that trick with us
good job
@abdellahchrichira1816 Thank you!
Am here 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@RonaldPanorama Thanks!
Fuel pump turned on when you back probed rrelay with test light because test light was providing a parth to ground on control side of relay.
@frankjohn4302 Yes!
Bravo!
@MikeHurst-be7bz Thanks!
I like old cars….😁😁😁😁😁
@thearrow5793 they are pretty cool
Thanks
@norz172steel5 My Pleasure!
Kit's throw a ⛺️ not a towel. Just put a 20-gallon gas tank in the rear bed of this truck and run an external fuel line (built a new fuel system with right psi). It's much easier. 😅
@AbdallahAbukurah Lol
I haven't look at the wiring diagram but common cranks no-start is loss of ground on the smaller wire(s) going to neg battery terminal. They break off, connector bad, or someone didn't connect them.
This truck should have one or two small ground wires going to the negative terminal of the battery.
@JacksAutoDiagnostics Good to know
Hay Deo…you can separate each one of ground (one by one)to see which one have not ground…and follow it……
@thearrow5793 Yes!
25:40 Thats a batch fired system
@renj6531 OK
💪💪
@knight6757 THANKS!
👍👍👍
@Chocolazulu Thanks!
So this truck also has bad fuel pump relay?
@ashokjames3467 No!
I watched the spark when you were testing for spark. I swear magnetic pick up in distributor is bad
@dougkelley1266 Spark was not the issue here
yeah perhaps its not best to use nut connectors in cars, but rather butt connectors that heat-shrink around the wires. Nut connectors are used more in homes, not cars.
@gerasimosmichalitsianos9684 Nut connectors are a NO No
I told you so, now start with the battery grounds. Now what was that switch on the floor for?
@ws2664 Cool, the switch on the floor is for the headlights
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair LOL, Yep that's right, good vid.
Check injector operation..
@ieonibua injectors were fine
Thanks brother my teacher I want to ask some question why the car of voxy toyota or wish toyota lose to light for example light of check engine and light of battery
@FabriceYaminkiza My Pleasure! Sorry I didn't understand your question

@uksolo326 Thanks for being here!
Is there such a thing as "Automotive Wire Nuts"?
@seanmiller678 NOPE!!
Lol didn't think so! Thank you for your videos!
Too bad you did not show us when you replaced the grounds. As of right now this video is incomplete.
@MyLifeThai371 OK!
It didn't look like there was enough spark. Very faint!
@chazbme There was
💯👏👏👏🙏🙏👋🏽👋🏽
@jesuscastillo6562 Thank you!
You are missing a ground my brother
@cornelcarroll Yes!
Come on Deo why do you always do that ? Show us the complete job. I wanted to see where the bad grounds are and how you found them. 😠
@jcmx0180 We were too tired to chase down the Ground wires, this is all you are gonna get this time
I understand. I just wanted to see what a bad body ground look like. Thanks anyway for the video
Please stop saying OLD TRUCK.
Why? Why deny the truth; it IS a old truck ( van).
I was wrong, it is truck. No van this time but it's OLD.
@henrickbascom1136 Lol, oh really, why??
Camera work is still bad,,him shakeing up & down is annoying,,camera is still shakey,,too close to deo,,stay back,,please listen,,fix yor settings
@mikemontenegro9426 Thanks for your feedback
That’s brother Matt. He’s doing a great job!
Totally disagree! It is very difficult to video in tight spaces! I think Matt is doing a fabulous job!
@@richardgreene3460 👍I agree with 3460.
