I do not know if my windows is completely fixed, but ever since I have obeyed your instructions my computer stopped restarting! Thank you very much. ❤
To clarify: What kind of random restart is this meant to fix? Is it meant to fix a restart where the computer goes through the entire shutdown process? Because that is not the problem I am currently experiencing. Right now, my computer randomly shuts off without even so much as a split-second's notice. One minute, I am typing and listening to music, and literally in the middle of a keystroke, my screen goes black and all sound stops. It's almost like the computer was _unplugged_ ... except that it immediately restarts.
Will this help my current problem, or do I need a different solution than this?
I’m having the same issue. We’re you able to fix this?
@@yalcy.mailliw I _think_ that I was able to fix it by replacing either the power supply or the motherboard. If one doesn't work, try the other.

My pc kept randomly restarting which i didn't think was a problem thinking it might be finishing installing updates. Three days later and it's still restarting, like give me a break. Glad to have found this video and disabled automatic restart. The only issue I'm faced with is installing my graphics card. PC cannot detect graphics card. Although I've been using this setup prior to updating my PC to windows 10 64 bit.
I want to say I greatly appreciate your short and to the point presentation for this guide. One of my biggest problems with people who post guides is they bloat the video with unnecessary banter or irrelevant information. I will say the biggest drawback of this format is the inability to properly educate people on why these problems happen and how these changes fix the problem at hand.
Slow down man and change the pc language

My PC is randomly restarting (as if I hit the reset button), even when in idle :-(
- I have already applied all settings from this video
- The RAM seems to be fine when running memtest86 for a few hours
- CPU/GPU are NOT overheating at all.
- Mainboard was already replaced earlier this year (for a different reason) but that didn't change anything
- The Power Supply also appeared to be fine when using one of those PSU testers.

Is this safe to do? Like, in the situation where my PC would normally restart itself, then this setting stops it, could it cause a fault or damage? Thanks.
I'm wondering bout that too. like you're just forcing the software to bypass its safety feature and making it push through error instead of really fixing the root of problem.

My PC just randomly shuts down and then restarts after a few minutes. I bought a new PSU and even tried an old one I had but the problem still happens. I think it might be the motherboard that is bad but I don't know. I've tried having the PC on without the GPU, different sticks of RAM and disconnecting extra hard-drives so I think it might be the motherboard.
My PC restarts after crash with screen freeze, but sound is fine for around 2 or 3 seconds. The restart is so random that I can sometimes play games all day without problem, and it could just crash right after boot. The power supply to graphics card might be the issue for me?

Thank you very much, I disabled the option for the computer to restart automatically and it helped me god blees you :) peace
I might as well share my experience and a possible solution. Okay so I my PC specs are: a8-7650k, hyperX kingston 12GB, Gigabyte F2A68HM-S1, 1TB seagate, and an RX550. OS Win 10. I am here for the same reason as mentioned above. I have tried this but it did not work. I went to other forums with the hope of finding a permanent fix and I so happen to get that this has only been happening to old AMD chips running on win 10 (no random reboot issues with Ryzen as far as I am aware). So I gave up and had to deal with it.
As time went on my curiosity to overclock my APU took in and I was like "why not?". So I overclocked it to 3.8ghz (3.3ghz default) in the BIOS. After that I experienced a slight bump in performance (whoopty doo). I went to check my clock speed in This PC> properties and oddly enough the displayed speed is still 3.3 ghz but in CPU-z its 3.8 ghz. I left it alone and went to enjoy the said bump in performance and surprise, surprise my PC restarted again. Afterwards I went to check the cpu frequency in "This PC" again and somehow my System acknowledged the new change (3.8 ghz). I went on back play a game and no more random restarts as to this day.
I hope this helps. Sorry if it doesn't.
Luke I have an RX580. It reboots about 15-30 seconds after logging in.
