Damn, I thought my car had a lot of rust! I just posted a video last week of my floor pan and jack point replacement. Good luck with the repairs. looks like you're doing a great job so far!

Thank you for doing this. My 85 318i needs this repaired - and more. All the other vids I could find were for the rear mounted battery tray area.
Feel free to check my latest vid to see the rot I found. Thankfully I cut a few panels out of a parts car. But I need more.

Has anybody ever made you aware of the fact that excessive (and in your case it definitely is that) welding will compromise the structural integrity of your car? You DO NOT just start cutting away at bearing parts of the body shell, just because you have a pin hole in the battery tray! Are you in need of a hobby? Do you have too much time on your hands? Do you EVER plan on driving this car on public roads? In that case, you're probably lucky you live in Sweden....

I’ve seen way worse cars get restored and driven again. The rust was there. I don’t cut out parts for fun.

Do yourself a favor and learn to weld properly and then do such work then you will save yourself time, nerves and then have fun at work
