I found a kabocha at my local Asian market today and I’m making this recipe and the kabocha muffins tonight! I’ll be adding traditional Western warming spices like cinnamon, allspice, and clove. I’m so excited to bake! Thanks for these delicious recipes! ❤️

all i know is kabocha is really good, it's naturally sweeter than regular pumpkin, so if you use pumpkin you should add a little more sugar i think it's easy to get kabocha in grocery stores though, it's those dark green pumpkins. they have them everywhere.
They should have it in Australia. Its is a small dark green looking winter pumpkin/squash. I think butternut squash should work too. Large orange pumpkins usually have stingy flesh, so you might need to mash it more/blend it.
I just made this recipe with butternut pumpkin and added some cinnamon into the mixture. So tasty! I reckon next time I will make some cream cheese icing to go with it! ^^
