Much as I appreciate the other casts of the game, it's nice to get an actual player commentary (players may have a tendency to focus on minutia of execution but that's a nice change of pace from someone constantly trying to hype you up, often with strange and/or uninformed statements). And this was a good game for the player style of commentary.
Also, some respect for choosing to commentate a loss and still marking it as your best game. It's always nice to see it when people can realize that's not a contradiction.
Thanks! I hope my future commentary is able to deliver as well. After the beta ended this was a consistent highlight game in my mind so I definitely thought it was fair to label it as my best of the beta!

@@primescoutSG That's great to hear. There are a lot of entertaining commentators out there but really diving deep both into the high and low level thinking is great and pretty rare. I'd love to hear about choices you're making where you're not sure if the pros outweigh the cons. One more thing that I struggle with when learning RTS is seeing the branching points in your strategy. If you scout X, how would you have changed it up? If they show up with Y, how is this build prepared? That kind of stuff would be massively helpful

I love Starcraft, but I'm a total noob at RTS games. On a scale of 1-10, how much would you recommend Stormgate?
I would give it a 7.5 recommendation! That might seem a little low, but remember that the last time I got to play was when the game was still in beta in May. The game is currently closed for development for its big early access release on Steam Aug 13 (July 30th if you buy a steam package or were in the beta.) That 7.5 can change A LOT in that time obviously, but there are a few things I can tell you right away to help your decision:
1. They have a new/noob friendly co-op mode for you to get used to the game and have some fun in that way.
2. Custom games and Coop have this feature called 'Buddy bot' that you can turn on to assist you in creating units and buildings so that you can focus on having fun and blasting things with your army! (as well as learn the game easier)
3. The game is at a slower pace than starcraft (but not boring slow). Things are a bit more manageable, and there are no units in the game you can lose your entire army too instantly like the baneling or disruptor in SC2.
The most important part is that it will be free, so it never hurts to give it a shot and see if its your speed or not! I'm not gonna lie to you and say everything is perfect, cause its not, its still in development, but I would definitely say give it a shot!
