The Mexican man was talking about the abuse that was happening in the school system. He didn’t say anything about the country. Ironically, he did the most American thing you could do. He didn’t tell the white guy to leave or to shut up. In fact, He handed the mic to him to explain himself. Much respect to how he handled the situation!
He actually started laughing afterwards, which is pretty amazing to think about. Whether it's a coping mechanism he developed - surely he's experienced racism directly before - or if that's all he could think to do to try and not want to be seen as "playing the victim" even if, obviously, he was a victim in that moment.

That Mexican man is a bigot because he refused to even consider moving to Brazil, Nigeria, India, the Philippines, Algeria, or all of these other great nations because the people are too dark skinned or he doesn't like their religion, or some other racist reason! Man, what a terrible story. I haven't been in a HS for over a decade, but I imagined that all the racism would be gone by now.
I think there was a sweet spot of low racism in the 90's and early 2000's because there weren't as many minorities, and the few of us present couldn't afford to mingle in white areas. That's changing as the middle class is shrinking, forcing people to coexist with all different races.
Kids don't mean the racist stuff they say half the time; they just don't have anyone at home teaching them otherwise.

@@IDontGravity I grew up in a small town and went to a small school, and it wasn't too bad. Some racism, but not as much as you'd think. Our grade might've had 6 minorities total out of 130 in our graduating class.
To me it seems the racism occurs when there is a bigger mix of races in one place. People start to feel uneasy around each other.

I lived outside of Trenton in a very nice primarily Black neighborhood. I'm not White, but there were some living there, and it was the most peaceful place I ever lived. Black people are really really nice.

This isn’t a joke. It’s real. People that are Caucasian will never understand how it feels to be disrespected and stigmatized due to your color of the skin, accent, and culture. I have experienced it first hand and trust me its taunting. I use to wish my skin was light. I always wondered “ why do I have to be brown” “ why couldn’t I be tall and white” ? All theses things that I wish I could be. But I’m not. People made fun of me for my color. even though I know being brown is nothing bad my head is still wired to thinking 🤔 why just why? We need to stop that. We need to stop making kids feel the way I used to feel and still do at times because it’s part of me. This was back in elementary and junior high. But even after all those years those are scars that do not go away.

Donald Trump I was relating to this man’s son because it happened to me. As a 6 yr old that experience is traumatizing and I had to share what I’ve gone through. If you were bullied by Mexicans I’m sorry. Same as I was by Caucasians. It doesn’t mean all white people are racist same as it doesn’t mean all Mexicans are the same. You cannot sit here and say this or that when you haven’t experienced what it is to come from another country or to be forced out from your country of origin because you’re dying of hunger or because there is so much violence. Given the opportunity I feel that I would want to come here illegally as well when it’s for my own survival and future for my kids. We can’t sit here and say they must leave because we do not know their reasons. Every country has its good and bad people. You can to categorize all as bad. Because my grandma and grandstand people I know came here LEGALLY to work hard. By that I mean field work. Rain or shine 10cents an hour which was nothing. Respect the law and make a living. I’m lucky to be here In this beautiful AMAZING country that I LOVE ! Thank You God. But I pray for those who were born in other countries and are struggling trying to survive. Let’s take into consideration their situation before we judge.

It's a Fair question, harsh? YES. but a valid question from a Parent that is only exercising his 1st amendment right. This is an Adult School Town-Hall, full of concern Parents (Whether you like it or not) expecting a DIVERSITY of opinions, Ideas, motives,& sentiment.. all that with the purpose of finding a common ground as an institution.
The only way you can have an understanding and a productive conversation with others REGARDLESS their backgrounds, gender, creeds and cultures is by GIVING THEM THE CHANCE TO EXPLAIN AND DEFEND THEIR OWN OPINIONS WITHOUT ATTACKING THEM OR JUDGING THEM IMMEDIATELY FOR THINKING DIFFERENTLY. As a Black Hispanic American I've been trying to understand the sentiment of people (towards us Latinos) from other Race & cultures ,in particular Caucasians , and guess what?! Have you notice how many times all these reporters and News Networks diminishes, Mock, & Violently condemn the White Race on National TV?!! and all because they don't think like you,talk like you, looks like you?? and yet they are the "EVIL BY NATURE RACE" ? speaking of tolerance, I can honestly tell you that I received MORE RACIAL ATTACKS since HS from African Americans , Asians ,& Middle Eastern than any other Race in my entire life and yet I would NOT use that as an excuse to Demonize Their entire culture, way of living or even their Ideologies. WHO ARE WE to determine what's Morally right or wrong? THIS IS AMERICA!!! The Constitution tells us that My Black Latino Voice and Opinions are just as Valid as any White/Caucasian Voice..NO MATTER How much my " Weak Little feelings" get Hurt. THIS IS MY COUNTRY! And I WILL RESPECT THE CONSTITUTION & SPECIALLY MY FELLOW AMERICANS WHETHER WE AGREE OR DISAGREE IN OUR OPINIONS,THERE'S ALWAYS A WAY TO FIND A COMMON GROUND BETWEEN TWO ADULTS. I WILL NOT DEMONIZED THEM FOR OUR DIFFERENCES BUT CELEBRATE OUR DISCREPANCIES WITH TOLERANCE AND RESPECT.
This is Not 1 Person's Job to bring us together, IT'S ALL OF US RESPONSIBILITY!!!
SO, Do not Complaint about Division among us, when you're not WILLING TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP FOR UNITY.
